Cons: Restaurants and bars were large in number but hit or miss in quality - xingao which requires a reservation was a total let down. Las playas wasn’t very good and ants will eat you alive. The drinks were watered down or just a bunch of sugar except for the lobby bar or dan’s bar in fuego. The water temperature for the shower was scalding hot or freezing, which was annoying. The toilet flushes so hard that the water hits you so you have to be careful. The butler included with fuego was nice but useless. While cleaned everyday, we found a few roaches in the $700/night room. Also, they didn’t refill our fridge or restock our things everyday. Annoying when we wanted more water.

Cons: Staff still learning and a bit slow . Somethings not finished yet but overall magnificent

Cons: Quality of food. Staff, room doors are tin and rooms are very noisy so don’t expect to have a quite room where you can get sleep.

Cons: Check in took almost a hour finally had to speak up to get waited on. A couple behind us was checked in before us because he was getting impatient. Then when we did get to check in the room we booked a Golden Junior Suite was unavailable they offered a upgrade for only one night and asked us move rooms the second day to which I told them was unacceptable and asked for the manager and miraculously a Golden Junior Suite was available. Felt like it was a sales pitch trying to get us to just pay for a upgrade all week. Also not a lot of entertainment at night, shows end around 8 to 9 but bars stay open til 2am.

Cons: The resort is not ideal for groups over 8, unfortunately we had a group of 9 people. More than once a concierge said we could be seated as group but the restaurant staff refused or objected, eventually allowing us to be seated together. It should be mentioned at one point we were told we would have to purchase 3 bottles of wine to be seated together after the concierge had confirmed a party of 9 would not be problematic. Housekeeping was poor, we had a dead centipede in our restroom all week, I was curious how long it would take to sweep the floors. There are only two buffet restaurants opened for lunch and breakfast. LGBT, GAY FRIENDLY, SAME-SEX COUPLES ISSUES Our group of 9 consisted of my relatives and their spouses, my single brother, and my parent and I - we are a gay couple. There were a few same-sex couples at the resort. Our check out notice was addressed to Mr. & Mrs. [LASTNAME]. The hotel has both of our information, they knew we didn't share a last name and should have been able to determine we are both males. However, it was a former letter - at best the drafter was lazy and sloppy, at worst homophic. We did hold hands in public and did not get any grief from other guests. However, a limited number of staff members did treat us differently after learning of our presences (e.g. ignoring us or actively avoiding interactions). Our last evening we had a reservation at the Hibachi grill, please note this is the only restaurant that will take reservations. In short, during the course of the meal our waiter engaged my partner and I in small talk with questions regarding our relations (i.e. Are you cousins or brothers?). This conversation took place in spanish, we were the only two of our party that spoke and understand the language. We clarified the nature of our relationship, boyfriends. He stated in spanish: "Really? Are you serious? Why?" We responded: "We are in love." He then stated: "Really? Why?" The tone of the conversation was dismissive and condescending. Fortunately for him and the restaurant manager this occurred at the end of the meal and we did not want to ruin our group's experience, which had been positive until that point although they were not aware of the specifics of the conversation. It has been a few days since that dinner and upon reflection it greatly diminishes my experience at Valentin Imperial Maya and we have decided we will not be returning. If you are considering this resort and are or have LGBT individuals traveling with you or a group of over 8, keep searching. I am writing a letter to the Director General, I will update if or when I receive a response.

Cons: Please hand out a map print out of the grounds on arrival or in the room. Will reduce the initial calls for shuttles instead of exploring/walking.

Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the coffee at breakfast. All coffee at other restaurants was great. I truly enjoyed everything.

Cons: There were only a few things I didn't like, 1. The steaks were weird. They defintely cut too much cost there. 2. The tv in my room was pretty outdated. Flat screens are cheap these days and I think they should upgrade. 3. They have a lot of "premium reserved seating" by the pool. It's a little annoying cause 90% of them are empty, and then no regular seats are available.

Staff pretends to care but really doesn't Beware of the tours they are very misleading Not a whole lot too do on the massive grounds Very reminiscent of a low budget cruise ship. A lot of money spent on beauty of hotel but not anything that benefits the guest. Food ok at best No beach besides the man made one. Which is not actually on the beach. The ruins look man made and there are rocks all along the real beach. Don't expect sand. There is none. Don't expectt any major benefit to staying here because of proximity to Excaret. There isn't a major benefit because you have to pay extra for Xcaret just like anyone else would. The unlimited experience is a trap to get you to go for 3 days. Don't waste your 350.00. I could go on and on. We complained about things to staff to no concern

Cons: A very nice resort in a beautiful location. The grounds were large enough to have lots of activity...or find quiet areas to relax

Cons: Dont expect to have a big beach area. The internet isn't good at all and they charge for it. The juice in the restaurants isn´t natural and the taste could be better.

Cons: This only thing I didn't like about the resort is that the room smelled of mold the entire time and the shampoo (no conditioner) was not good for us at all. The beach, unfortunately, is way too rocky.

Cons: BedBugs Attacking Me & Front Desk Not Willing To Help Me, They Just Asume I Am Making It Up.

Cons: I'm fairly certain our room had bedbugs which was upsetting for obvious reasons.

Cons: I did not like the staff. They all seemed overworked and all over the place. They did not know how to communicate. In English... terrible and in Spanish as well. That was definitely disappointing.

Cons: Room wasn't always stocked properly.

Cons: The food is average to bad. The deserts are the worst. Great variety of nothing to write home about.
