Kayak / Expedia allowed me to book at 12:00 on a Sunday. That was apparently their closing time. So when I arrived at 12:05. No one was there. I tried calling Expedia they wouldn’t help update the rental pickup location. And Sixt wouldn’t help either. I returned at 6am the next morning only to be charged 70€ more because all the cars in my intermediate SUV were rented out. No one called or helped. Just upsold me.Reviewed 2025 Feb 10

I have booked and paid for SUV VW Tiguan but Sixt staff provided me Peugeot 308 instead and refused to give me any other matching SUV, plus they also charged me hidden fees for ausland, and insurance and bla bla which were even more than the original rental price. UPSELL! booked car for 3 days total 155 euros Ended up with 2 days at 190 euros. Upsell at rental counter. Changed from 3 to 2 days and received 13 euro decrease. Called CUSTOMER SERVICE. I waited 33 minutes to get an agent. Told him 132 euro decrease for one less day was ridiculous and I wanted my original contract back. He told me there was npthing he could do. He couldn't change a contract. A customer service agent who could not give any customer service! My original contract would now go from 155 to 190 euros and now to 330 euros if I wanted the three days! DON'T RENT FROM SIXT. UPSELL RIP-OFF! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. (In fairness agents at rental and return were all courteous and friendly, just unempowered.Reviewed 2023 Oct 10

Pros:Overall the experience with sixt was nice - the car was totally new and comfortable. Although I received a premium-class car, I reserved SUV, but not sedan that I have received. That was unfortunate and rather unexpected, given the size of luggage and the quality of countryside road I was going to.Cons:I would prefer a faster reaction - if sixt can't guarantee even the car class, then I would prefer an immediate cancellation. When I hear that my car is not available at the counter - that's already late for last minute changes.Reviewed 2020 May 25
