Pros: Extremely attractive hotel with perfect location by the waterfront. Easy walking distance all over town. We enjoyed our room overlooking the harbor. Gracious, helpful staff. We were happy with the Courtyard Cafe, which provided good sandwiches, coffee, and dessert for low-key suppers. Island Time Tours, booking right there in the Grand Pacific, took us to Butchart Gardens and picked us up again at our requested time. What a very nice arrangement. When it was time to leave Victoria, we chose the Victoria Airport YYJ Shuttle as more economical than a taxi. The Shuttle arrived at the front door and delivered us to the airport comfortably and in good time. We were happy in every way with our four nights at the Grand Pacific and would gladly stay there again.

The bar at the bottom level was very popular, so much so that I wasn't allowed to enter as they were at capacity. I took my business elsewhere. The balcony door didn't seal super well, so there was a bit of a draft in that area.

Pros: Virtually everything - the place reminded me of the places my parents would take me as a kid when on holiday. Parking lot, very well kept gardens, friendly check-in with lemon water available and coffee in the morning. Comfy, old school decor and furnishings - but everything is clean and kept up - it's not at all tatty. Ice machine, vending machines, and a simple but immaculate room. I also left my laptop in my room by accident and the maid made a point of rushing after me to return it - so, honest staff as well.

Pros: Inside and out hotel was beautiful. Even though we were a few hours early and not able to check into our room yet they still allowed us to park in the hotel parking lot so we could go out and spend some time walking around the area and visiting the museum. The staff that I dealt with were very pleasant and courteous. There is a very nice restaurant located in the basement of the hotel and is accessible both from the lobby and from outside. The food was good and staff was courteous and the prices were not too bad at all.
Cons: It’s an older hotel so there is no elevator and no air-conditioning. I have a bad back and stairs are difficult so having to go up to the third-floor was not easy. Luckily it was cool in the evening and overnight so the lack of air conditioning turned out to be Ok. It also would have been nice if there was some kind of complementary breakfast like Continental or just a small buffet but unfortunately there was not. Although they do give you a card when you check in that it allows you 15% off your meal in the restaurant that is located in the basement.

Pros: Our room was spacious, clean and had an excellent view of the harbor. The water taxi stand was right outside the hotel making trips around Victoria very easy and fun. A lovely walkway around the harbor was right outside the hotel as well.

Pros: This hotel is remarkable. I am at the Four Seasons in Vancouver right now but the Delta beats it hands-down. The contemporary look is completely attractive and I've never had a hotel room so organized with a place for everything. Great food in the restaurant. The location is perfect on the water, and just a few minutes walk into the heart of Victoria. Also they have a free shuttle that get you to places you want to go.

Pros: Informal but very attentive staff, ease of check-in and the quick drop-box checkout. The location is great, downtown but not right in the town. The Westbay walkway along the harbour is great for a walk, jog, taking in the scenery. Our room was quiet, very clean and comfortable. The workout area is well set up, and the sauna was perfect for a mid-winter warm-up.
Cons: we were surprised there was no fridge in the room, that would have been helpful.

Pros: A comfortable suite is much better value for the money than a single room. Very clean and well decorated with neutral colours, granite counter... way better than a stark white wall. Bed was comfortable. Location is great, centrally located but not a crazy busy/noisy street. Great walking around James Bay and Fisherman's Wharf. I really, REALLY like that they take dogs too. The suite was super clean, no sign of dogs from other people which I liked (even though I have a dog)!

Pros: On the edge of the James Bay neighborhood, the Oswego is in walking distance to the Parliament, downtown, Chinatown and all the ferry and seaplane services in the inner harbor. Our family of four were very comfortable in the 1BR premium suite. The bistro is great for a cocktail with locals or a morning coffee. The concierge will hold your bags while you walk and shop if you’ve got a late clipper departure. We’ll be back!

Cons: Reserved a room with a king bed. We were traveling from Seattle via the clipper that couldn't sail due to the marine forecast. Once we realized our trip was going to take 7 hours via buss to reach the hotel, I called to notify that we would be arriving late and was assured my room would be ready and that we would have a king bed, not 2 doubles. We arrived at the hotel and no king beds were available. But then the representative said I could upgrade for $40 more per night and beaten down by the 7 hour trip I agreed to pay the fee. Then we get the bill and it was $60 + $4.85 PST + $1.21 MRDT + $3.03 GST. I understand that the taxes are what the are but should have been quoted them and the hotel should have honored the quote made on arrival. I was offered $10 per night discount by the manager but still feel mislead. As a Marriott rewards customer for years and one who has stayed at Marriott properties all over the world, I will not be returning to this property. The maid service was also poor. The room was not vacuumed nor were the sheets ever changed on our 3 night stay. Additionally when we arrived there was left over spoiled food in the fridge. Lastly they did not replace plates and silverware in the kitchenette and when we came back to the room with takeout, we had to eat out of plastic containers. I do not recommend this property. If you are accustom to Marriott service and hospitality, you will not find it here.

Also, waited one hour for breakfast, after two complaints, received it with the explanation that here were "problems in the kitchen." To their credit, the restaurant wait staff seemed embarrassed and comped the breakfast. Another morning we decided to skip the menu and do the $17 buffet, which was MUCH worse that the free buffets you get at budget hotels.

Cons: It was far from the main downtown core. They do provide a free downtown shuttle on a first come basis until 2300. I believe this hotel would do much better if they had a FREE airport shuttle AND a free continental breakfast. I know I will look for both in a hotel if I return to the area.

Pros: The hotel is a bit out of the downtown area, but still pretty accessible. The location is beautiful looking over the inner bay. An upper floor is suggested. The room was clean and very comfortable.
Cons: The front desk staff was not rude, but just felt a little dismissive. The concierge is absolutely the wrong guy for the job. Again, not rude, but never smiled in our two interactions with him. He had trouble finding a city map for us. When we asked if the free shuttle could take us to a location, he just said no, but failed to help us try to find out how to get there. Just not the right guy for a job like that.

Pros: Fun motel with family focus. Was quite for our stay in the back window facing dealership side. I could see the front being really loud with construction going on at the Mall. Room was clean and serviced well. Pool, Jacuzzi and Bikes are fun elements for the kids.
Cons: The reason I was okay being away from waterfront was because of the shuttle but the shuttle is not really useful for out of town tourist. VW bus are cool but can accommodate only six people at a time. Their timings are 9 AM to 8 PM. Eight is too early I felt for a tourist to head back to hotel IMO Returning from downtown you have to call the hotel to schedule a pickup which could be a problem if your phone doesn't work in Canada. Anyhow BC Transit compensated for it well with 5$ all day pass.You can use the same ticket for Butchart garden no need to pay for expensive tour operators.

It was a day below 25 degrees Celsius and still MUCH too warm in the hotel room (even with the fan provided in the room, which was definitely a very welcomed item!!) The elevator is also an issue ... only 1 elevator and it is extremely small. Unfortunately, I won't be staying again, I will pay a little more and stay elsewhere.

I heard children screaming, neighbors talking, and footsteps. - The bed and pillows just weren't very comfortable. I recommend bringing your own pillow if you like to sleep on your back. - There was no air conditioning, which is not mentioned anywhere in the description. - The doors barely worked. We had to try our keys multiple times and when we expressed our frustration we were told to just try it again with different keys (which also didn't work, because the door sensors weren't good). - We had to attend a particular function and asked if we could change in advance of our check out; and instead of being offered a room (which we had booked!) they told us to change in the rest rooms which were tremendously cramped and filthy (it's shared with two restaurants). Simply put; it's a budget hotel and if they were charging budget prices; I'd understand. But 300 dollars for one night (after tax) seemed a ludicrous price just for the waterfront location (something which other locations seem to have agreed to charge despite substandard offerings). I'm not opposed to being charged 300 dollars for a waterfront room in the core, but I expected better for it.
