They placed their luggage in the overhead compartment belonging to both rows, which wasn't a problem if they hadn't proceeded to open and close the compartment every 20 minutes. The 300 pd dad repeatedly stepped on my broken toe while reaching for his luggage, while rattling around and disturbing sleeping passengers. And, sadly the child repeatedly threw temper tantrums without any care or effort of intervention from the parents. In short, they terrorized the surrounding travellers. Pros: "Everything about my flights on Virgin Atlantic was amazing. The plane was new and comfortable, the seats seemed to recline more than in other airplane I have been. The entertainment was good with a wide selection of movies and TV shows. The crew was incredibly nice and helpful and I had a really pleasant time talking with them. On the airport team side I can also say they were extremely helpful as I missed my flight and they promptly rebooked me on the next one 3h later, free of charge. I think the stress of missing a flight was completely deflected by the help of the Virgin Atlantic crew at the desk so thank you for that!"

I requested it to be reset several times and in spite of the hostess resetting it several times, it did not function. I had to stay without an entertainment system during the entire flight. This was my first time travel with Virgin Atlantic. I may never fly Virgin Atlantic again."

The crew was friendly and accommodating, the pilots kept you up to date with flight info and departure/arrival time (and kept the seat belt light off almost the entire trip), the food was delicious and offered throughout, and the entertainment was top notch. Seats were comfortable (we had bulkhead row Space+ and they were worth every cent for the international long haul from LAX-BNE and SYD-LAX) and everyone got a pillow/blanket. We got premium noise-canceling headsets, water, and a little care kit including an eye mask and earplugs and a pen to fill out your travel documents. The overhead bin space was huge and we got two free checked bags of luggage up to 50lbs each (I don't know of that's standard or not, or if it came with Space+ seats). SERIOUSLY the best airline."

Cons: "I found the seats on this Virgin Atlantic A340 flight from LHR (London Heathrow) to LAX (Los Angeles), an eleven hour flight, to be unacceptable. The seats were very crowded. I am six feet tall, and was very uncomfortable all during the flight. I could not sit with my knees together. I had to spread my knees to sit comfortably. Holding that position for eleven hours was very uncomfortable. Anyone taller than me would have even more trouble. Also, every seat has a very large box underneath, I presume for the audio/video system. This is a terrible location. There is very little room to stow anything. But much worse, I couldn't straighten my right leg. All-in-all, I found the seat situation totally unacceptable. I will likely never fly Virgin Atlantic again because of this."

Cons: "After missing our connecting flight in Istanbul on our Turkish Airlines flight on January 9th from LAX-Addis Ababa (due to a nearly 45 minute delayed flight), my sister and I had to spend 24 hours in Istanbul and still pay for a night in our 4 star hotel in Addis, despite the fact that we weren't there. So, in preparation for our flight back to LAX, I spent hours on the phone with a Turkish Airlines representative to ensure that we would not miss our connecting flight on the way back to LAX on January 29 (Jomo Kenyatta-IST-LAX). The TA representative spoke very little English and became incredibly frustrated with me when I expressed my concern about how closely scheduled our connecting flights in Istanbul were. The representative said she could "help us" by seating us at the back of the plane from Jomo Kenyatta-IST, as she was "mostly sure" that our plane would deboard from the back of the plane once we arrived in Istanbul and, in theory, we wouldn't have to wait behind all the other customers to exit. This was totally incorrect: our plane only deboarded from the front exit door and the seats she selected at the back would surely have caused us to miss our next flight were it not for the fact that the plane wasn't full and we arrived only a few minutes late. Still, by the time we got off the plane in IST, our connecting flight was already 15 minutes into boarding. We showed the TA attendants our boarding passes at the long security line, and at first they both said, "don't worry, it will be fine". I had to convince them to let us skip the line as we would clearly have missed our flight. Once we finally made it through security we ran through the ENTIRE Istanbul airport to get to our gate, as we could hear them calling the final boarding call for our flight to LAX. We literally ran as fast as we could for almost 20 minutes straight, with all of our bags, which ended up being over a mile, I would guess. When we got to our gate, we had to go through yet another security line - WHY??? Apparently there was a celebrity in front of us, and while we were sweating and nervous about missing our flight, the security agents were taking selfies with the celebrity. It was insulting and rude and totally unprofessional. The take away for me is that Turkish Airlines should NOT be allowed to sell flights to people that give them less than an hour to make international connecting, especially in an airport as large and disorganized as Istanbul, and especially when Turkish Airlines flights are often late or delayed. This was one of the most stressful flying experiences of my life."

I was instructed to do multiple errands, to get Turkish visa, etc all on my expense to be able to exit the transit as an American citizen and be able to take Turkish airlines bus to the hotel.The hotel was fine and the meals. The problem was that they calculate bus traveling time wrong in the hotel and put people on the bus next day too late, so due to the traffic jam, we barely made it to the airport, and then we had to stress the officials to put us on the fast passport control lane due to boarding time."

They completely forgot about me. When I saw that the people had boarded, I went to the counter asking for the wheelchair. They sent me to Egypt Air to request it. Of course Egypt Air said I was not their passenger, so I should request the chair to my airline. I tell the man from Egypt air to talk directly to his colleagues in Turkish Airways. He is angry and tells me he's doing me the favor of getting the chair even if it's not his job, so i should be very thankful. He requested the chair and sat me on it. Kept telling me I should be thankful to him, even if it wasn't his job. Turkish Airways never got the wheelchair for me and I have mobility problem but they tell me to get to another airline to get it! No entertainment originally in Spanish in any flights for Spanish speaking passengers."

However, this would be better handled when she requested for assistance during her booking process. The crew should've anticipate her needs and booked an aisle seat, or even be the ones to ask me or another passenger if I would be willing to trade. I was placed on the spot and no courtesy was shown to me. My legs were completely swollen and in pain because I wasn't able to stand periodically. I too booked my flight early and requested my seats appropriately for my health needs."

She would not allow us to wait for the rest of our party of 2 to go on the shuttle to the plane together. They were delayed because of your personal continually bringing other people to cut in line in front of them. There was plenty of time and the shuttle was already full, and we wanted to wait for the next shuttle to board the airplane together. She came out several times from inside of the building shouting at the three of us to get on the shuttle even when the person managing the shuttle flow at the bottom of the stairs was about to let us wait for the next shuttle. What was her problem(?) - she could use a lot more people skills and realize who pays her salary - the customers. She really tarnished the whole image and impression I originally had of TA. Also, there was no way to go to the bathroom without going through a long line of security again at the last gate before the shuttle which did not make sense."

The lines were long and people would literally pile their plates with massive amounts of food, take it to their seat then leave it. Fix the lockers and add more, they are a wonderful asset but I was not able to take advantage of. Consider limiting access to manage crowds."

Cons: "I booked three round-trip tickets from LAX to Athens. Our daughter did not fly with us there but we checked with ticketing in LAX and they booked her seat anyway. The issue came when we tried to leave Athens the airlines then said that I had to purchase a one-way ticket! They informed me that the flight was cancelled for my daughter because she didn't fly to Athens. The ticket was almost $1,500.00 and I intend to get my money back but it was unfortunate that they had to charge me for it in the first place."

There was a priority line, but for some reason I didn't get in it, although I fly business. The line was not that long but it just did not move. And the a/c was not working. Worst boarding experience ever and I've been flying for over 40 years. When I boarded finally I asked if I could give a review and although they said yes- nothing. So I hope someone who cares sees this."

Cons: "This is one of the worst airlines I have flown with. I travel internationally frequently, I had used Turkish Airlines on a domestic flight in Turkey back in the 90's. It was a decent experience. So I decided to book my flight to Athens with Turkish Airlines. I bought a nonstop flight from LAX to with one and a half hour layover in Istanbul and then flying to Athens on the same day. I was assigned bulkhead seats on the way over. On the day of the Parcher at the Turkish airline counter in LAX I was informed that my seat assignments were changed. The agent could not/ would not give me a satisfactory answer as to why! During the course of the same conversation I was also informed that my layover Istanbul is not 1 1/2 hours, instead it is seven hours and I will be flying out to Athens The following day. My flight was randomly changed to a later flight without my knowledge! After a long wait at the ticketing counter, the manager switched us back to the original itinerary. Sadly it doesn't end here. The take off was about an hour and a half delayed. This was about exactly the same amount of time I had as layover Istanbul airport. I asked several flight attendants about how will Turkish Airlines will handle this delay as my connection to Athens was in jeopardy. Again not one flight attendant could give me a straight answer. Some said "well hopefully you will make it to the next flight". One said "the pilot we will make up for the lost time". I also noticed that my original bulkhead seat assignments were given to three ladies who were friends of a first class flight attendant! it was really annoying to watch the flight attendant bring them treats from the first class kitchen area. It was clear that our seats were intentionally switched as a special favor. Long story short, upon arrival we were told that the our connecting flight is at gate 501 only to find out there was no plane at the gate!! We never found out what happened to our original connection to Athens, but we ended up waiting an additional 5 1/2 hours in the airport for then next day flight. No explanation given, no accommodations provided, no apologies!"
Pros: "We had a connecting flight in Instanbul, Turkey, and a representative met us at our arrival gate from Rome and walked us through security and to our connecting flight to LAX. I thought that was great because we would've been completely lost if we had to do it on our own. Security check in was thorough. We had to go through security screening AGAIN (already did it in Rome and had to throw away our waters purchased in the airport), and two different lines for passport check. My husband had to go through a third security line because he had a carry-on. Boarding was well organized with passengers lining up by their boarding letter - no crowding - and people sitting at the back of the plane boarded first (after 1st class). The flight itself was great. The food was delicious. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. They gave us a water bottle, lots of current and blockbuster movies to choose from. They provided pillows, blankets, and earphones at no extra charge. Would definitely fly again."

However, Aeroflot security didn't listen to me and kept saying I'm okay( I guess she wanted to say I was a right gate) and didn't let me talk to groundhostes, and kept screeming to others to show her their boading pass. I could get to talk groundhostes right when I get in the flight, not sure my baggage were with me. My suitcase was damagged at both flights on the way and back. And had to wait for two hours to receive the form, and to claim it, you have to submit so many documents and takes tim e. I am waiting for it."

Personal space may be less than what we are accustomed to in US. The airline staff usually have some English but are not interested in having a discussion with you, just a couple of words. Food: passable, no more. Lady sitting next to me opened up a paper then plastic wrap, placed 2 smoked fish on a stack of napkins then proceeded to dismantle it with her fingers and eat it. It was smelly and disgusting. I commented to a flight attending that I found this impolite to inflict on other passengers - nothing was done - she didn't say a word to the passenger. I don't want to rule others but when I pay money, I don't feel that I should have no say. I might do it again but the cost difference would really have to make it worthwhile."

Also it is worth mentioning that kyak is the only website i have found that has usefull search parameters in their filters, is seems like the competition is folwing Kayak's lead but is not quite there yet. I have found that Google Flights and others are not necessarily looking out for the best customer experience as you might often get stuck with a 20 hour layover without the customer noticing it."

Therefore I had to sit perfectly straight for all 13 hours of the flight. There were no other aisle seats for me to switch to. Most airlines offer eye shades and earplugs for the long haul flights. Not this one. Both were needed on this rather noise, chaotic flight. I guess you get what you pay for ... the cheap fare is not worth it. I don't intend to fly this airline again."

Cons: "I actually didn't fly QR. My RJ light from TLV to AMM was delayed by approx 2 hours. I asked to be taken off the flight in order to fly the day after from TLV to LCA and take QR. However the RJ gate agents explained that there are over 40 people on the flight that need to take the QR from AMM and that the ties between RJ and QR are very strong and the QR flight will wait the necessary 15 minutes. However, as we landed in AMM we saw the QR aircraft push back 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure. We got stuck in AMM and the RJ people were nice but totally inefficient and claimed that they were limited by their corporate procedures. I asked to be put on an Etihad flight that was scheduled to leave 2 hours later and that would put me at the end of the day in MAA (my destination) around 2.5 hours later which was acceptable in my eyes. The transfer desk agent said he is going to arrange it, disappeared for 45 minutes and then came and told me this is already too late for Etihad (it was not) and anyway they cannot let me take Etihad since they are not a part of "One World". I argued a bit and he said ok went to teh back office and disappeared for another 20 minutes. at that point he came and told me that all is taken care of and here is my new flight and proceeded to show me an itinerary which took me through BKK to MAA but the AMM-BKK flight will leave only at 0130 at night (this was around 1430) and get to BKK in the afternoon tomorrow. Then I will have to wait in the airport another 8-9 hours to fly to MAA. hence 2 nights without sleep staying at airports. BTW, I was the only Business/first passenger but this did not confer on me any special treatment. I refused to take this route and at the end asked them only to get me back to TLV and there I will change the whole route and go tomorrow on QR from LCA. I had to wait at AMM airport until 2100 and only now - 2300 - reached home which I left at 0600 this morning. BTW, i don't think that they restored my ticket to its original form (which was a full QR ticket covering also the RJ and Pegasus flights. but I was too tired to argue. I will postpone my trip by one more day and change the route to avoid another debacle like this one. Also, I chatted with the QR people in Amman, and ithey claim that they were not told that the RJ from TLV had 40 passengers connecting through them. This is the absolute opposite of what the RJ people claimed. Last, all his is without even mentioning the issues this delay caused since I have people who came specifically for this, waiting for me in MAA and God only knows when I will manage to get there and whether or not they will wait for me. Guys, you have to do something about this. I am quite a regular flyer and this is the worst experience I had."

Upon arriving in JFK I had an issue with my luggage and no-one answered the phone number provided by the company, turns out a 3rd party company handles the luggage for RJ (Swiisport) and RJ is closed a few days a week, so take that in consideration if having any issue, must note they were curious and solved my issue when they were available. 2. Disappointingly there were no (extra) snacks such as chocolates or nuts ) available for sale during the flight."
Pros: "All five star excellent including perfect punctuality."
Cons: "Only downside is the front scree entertainment. Films limited to unspeakable junk....but hey some might like junk....and classical music limited to Bach's fugues and cantatas which I personally adore and hugely enjoyed, but not much else. Pop and jazz junk. Advantage is that one has/had 12 hours to read a brilliant novel."
Pros: "Punctuality, professionalism, and overall excellent customer service. Every personal i spoke with was very helpful and pleasant."

Cons: "DO NOT FLY AMERICAN AIRLINES DURING A PANDEMIC. They were not keeping folks distanced from each other, they did not make sure that all the passengers had masks (I understand that people might take them off in flight briefly to drink etc but there were people that walked right on without masks on at all) The flight was FULL. They did a full drink/snack down the aisle thing ensuring that everyone packed into that small space would all be taking off their masks at the same time (if they still had it on in the first place). I did not feel safe at all."
Pros: "The crew was fine, friendly enough, although I was incredibly disappointed that they didn't force people to wear their masks as they boarded. They also didn't enforce masks over noses--rendering masks useless."
Cons: "The flight was completely full. And people weren't wearing masks as they boarded, and the flight attendants did nothing about that. Also, there was no distancing IN the airport during boarding. It's NOT DIFFICULT to put tape marks on the ground to ensure physical distancing. It is THEIR responsibility to make sure the process is safe, since half of the people seem to not care about distancing (or mask wearing). I'm incredibly disappointed and I will be flying Southwest for the time being: I hear they're better at enforcing distancing."

Cons: "Gate agent spoke so ridiculously fast and swallowed so many sounds that it was virtually impossible to understand most of what he was saying. Most importantly we all missed that our roll-on bags wouldn’t fight in the overhead bins. As a result many people pulled their bags on and fought and struggled to force their luggage above, only to give up. The on-board agents recognized early the problem and then proceeded to allow many other passengers to stroll by them with their large roll-on bags, only to delay the boarding process and frustrate everyone. When making their safety announcement the flight attendant was clearly competing for fastest speaking human and rushed through at blazing speeds. In all my 30+ years of travel, I’ve never heard anything like it."

The level of professionalism is much higher on JAL in regards to the flight attendants than AA. The boarding process still needs a lot of work to be more organized (take a look at JAL as an example - they treat customers like kings and queens). Also, there was no way to get a seat assignment through the JAL website. That website looks and acts like it’s from the late 90s."

So we sa on the Tarmac for 90 minutes. I have a difficult time believing this situation was a surprise. Possibly it was just to free up the gate and not have to go through reboarding. Also leg room is getting reduced to 28 inches. I'm 5"11 and cramped. How is JetBlue better than American? How much will these airlines continue to bend us over. I didn't even take the screaming infant into account.... since it's not AA's fault for letting that baby on board."

They said the 'code share' blocks seat sales! Be ware Also found out that American Airlines does not serve meals on flights from Toronto to LAX. I was told they only serve meals on "international flights" but that I could buy a sandwich or snack. Unfortunately they only had 4 sandwiches on board , which sold within the first 2 rows of the plane!"

Cons: "Didn't announce meal choices at the start so flight attendant had to repeat herself every. Single. Row. They forgot my diabetic meal on the last part them forgot to include cutlery and it took a long time to sort out but they were otherwise lovely."
Cons: "Was informed when we checked in that the flight we had purchased did not exists. We were informed thatcher would have to wait 24hours (after an already 7 hour layover) to catch another flight to Los Angeles. After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."
Cons: "This flight was miserable. Seriously, one of the worst flight experiences I've ever had. The leg room was absurdly small. I'm not a tall person and I only had one inch in front of my legs. When the guy in front of me put his seat back it pressed into my knees. There wasn't enough space to bend down and untie my shoes, let alone get something out of my bag. My shoulder and knee were touching the guy next to me (a complete stranger) for the entire flight and there was nothing I could do about it. This was a red-eye but I absolutely could not sleep because it was so uncomfortable, so when we landed I had a terrible migraine and was nauseous and disoriented going through customs. I actually had to sit down in the airport because I though I was gonna pass out while trying to carry my bag, that's how shitty I felt after this flight. On top of that, not being able to sleep on the flight really messed up my sleep schedule and so jet lag from the time change has been made even worse, so I'm completely out of whack and its so much worse that it otherwise would have been because of the horrible flight. Also the food was gross and there wasn't enough of it. Even now, I don't think I have really communicated just how shitty this flight was. I was actually angry when I saw my seat upon boarding, and I'm still angry about it now."
Cons: "We were not permitted to board the plane until later than expected, but were told we would still take off right away and regain lost time, no mention of a delay at last call or immediately after, despite the 20 minute delay by this point. After taxiing, the pilot informed us of withheld information, that ATC would delay our departure for ~40 minutes, but we could STILL try to make it up in the air. This was a bold faced lie. It was finally 9:52pm before we even took off from SFO. While idling, the cabin started to reek of jet fuel, and people started coughing and sneezing. Upon landing at LAX at 10:46pm, we were told that there was no gate for us, and that we would have to wait for an amount of time that kept changing every time there was an announcement. The toxic jet fumes started to permeate the cabin again, and people started coughing and sneezing in response. Ultimately it is 11:21pm by the time we reached our gate. At this point, the jetway was broken/failed to open, but despite this, the air conditioning was switched off and pax crowd the aisles without direction. Finally we managed to escape at 11:31pm."
Pros: "The entertainment selection was pretty good on the flight. That is my only positive experience."
Cons: "The seats were incredible jam-packed together. We had a 9 1/2 hour flight from Tokyo and could not even sit without our knees touching the seat in front of us. My tray table couldn't even properly extend -- the seats are so tight my tray just folded up on top of me. The food was BAD. 1/3 edible out of each course, consistently. I saw other passengers also dumping untouched trays of mystery meat that came as a side. They handed out egg-tomato-cucumber sandwiches which were inedible. The tomato had gone bad and the egg had a sour taste -- I gagged when I took the first bite. I'm especially disappointed with the seat spacing, though. I had a really difficult time getting in/out of the seating aisle to use the restroom. Even with our bags stored under the seat, I couldn't get in without tripping on/getting my foot caught in the strap of our purses/backpack. I couldn't even turn on one side without my arms or legs touching the passenger next to me -- sore neck, sore back, and still couldn't even get a wink of sleep. I will not be flying internationally with American Airlines again. They are the epitome of an airline trying to cash in on as many seats as possible. Save yourself the trouble and fly Japan Airlines directly -- their food was great and their seats were very comfortable."
Cons: "Connecting to LAX through Toronto was frustrating. We were told in Dublin that our bags were checked all the way through to LA and they weren't. (Been through Toronto before and thought maybe they had changed the procedure) Airport signage could be improved to accurately inform of baggage pickup and drop off with your connecting air carrier. (Our traveling companions ended up missing the flight home in the confusion.) The airport is going through renovations, maybe it will improve. The flight to LA wasn't stocked properly with food. They ran out of sandwiches/fruit and cheese plates by the first few rows in the main cabin. No earbuds available for those who needed them. Cramped seating. This flight was with BA partner American Airlines"

Cons: "This was almost a six hour flight there were no televisions available the flight was oversold and there were people on standby there was very little Lego room we were only offered snacks and drinks the crew was stressed we left late because we were instructed to check our carry-ons but that was not enforced until people were already on the plane getting on the plane and getting off the plane took a very long time there was very little leg room it was difficult to move around the plane because it was such a small plane the crew was very stressed out. I am very upset about this flight and will not fly with American ever again."
Pros: "The flight was delayed by more than two hours which caused us (me, wife, 4yo, and 7mo) to miss our connection from LAX to HNL. We had to stay the night in LA and take a morning flight to HNL. But despite the delay, the gate agent in Charlotte did a good job of updating people and remained very polite even when it was clear people were getting frustrated and starting to get sharp with him. Pilots did a good job of trying to make up as much time as possible. I can't remember how much time they shaved off but I think it was more than 20 minutes. Customer service in LA was solid too. Went to CSD to get our tickets changed. They had already changed our flight to a 8 AM flight. We asked if we could take a later flight because of the kids and he was able to accommodate. They also gave us vouchers for 3 meals and a night at the Holiday Inn. Having a delayed flight is never fun but the AA staff was amazing throughout."
Pros: "Crew was exceptional (as usual), everything ran smoothly and on time."
Cons: "It doesn't make sense to board from the front of the plane backward. I know this is not an AA thing, but a way to make customers paying more feel more special by having the privilege of sitting on the plane longer...but it's really silly."
Pros: "The guy in the middle seat left and never came back. Smooth flight. Good crew. Got both pretzels and cookies, as well as 2 cups of ice, with no problem."
Cons: "Entertainment system had some quirks. I choose my flights in an attempt to make sure I can watch a movie during the flight, so that's important to me. This one stopped once in the middle of the movie, but worked one I started it again. Didn't have buttons for fast forward or rewind, so had to guess on the timeline when I wanted to see something I missed. Then the flight map kept resetting to a mode other than what I wanted. I know these are first world problems, and they in no way affected the safety of the flight, but I expect more."

At the checking kiosk we did not have the option to pick seats , there was a message on the boarding pass that said to go see boarding agent. So we did, appreantly they over booked the trip and they were looking for volunteers to give up their seats!! Why did we have to be on stand by if our booking was confirmed 4 months ago!! They made us wait until the gate was closed and then they found us seats . This trip caused us mental anguish I will never fly American Airlines again"

Cons: "I purchased the earliest flight of the day from Vegas to Los Angeles so I could be in LA by 11am so I could attend the 1pm Dodger game at dodger stadium... ( I specifically flew into lax for the game that I spent $100 on tickets for) well I arrived to LAS at 5am by 515am I received my first notification that my flight wouldn't be leaving until 1030am.... I was a little annoyed but hey I'm still going to make it to my game, ( I just needed to let my ride know who's lives 3 hours away from LA that my flight was going to be 3 hours late not to rush) well about an hour later I got another notification that my flight was now being pushed back to 230pm.... at this point I have no choice but to look for another flight.... I found another flight on Southwest leaving Las at 1210pm arriving in lax at 120pm... perfect I can still make my game... That flight was boarding on time... ran into some hiccups on the runway... arrive to lax at 130pm... not a problem can still make my game... sat on the runway at lax until 335.... needless to say I missed the game... while in the air I received another text that my American airline flights was now pushed back to 530pm... mind you my day started at 5am on Las Vegas to catch a flight out at 720am.... Now had I not found that other flight I would have been sitting around Vegas airport for over 12 hours.... I was not a happy flier today, specially because the actual flight is normally no more than 45 minutes start to finish... I could have rented a car and drove... would have been cheaper and I would have made it to my game ...."

Cons: "One of the worst flights ever. The plane was jammed. My seat was in row 20, directly across from the lavatory. The light was one every time they opened or closed the door. I had people standing right next to me with their rear ends in my face. The plane would be fine for a short trip with that many people and such small uncomfortable seats (and I am a little person 5'1"). But to put that many people on a "cattle car" for a 6 hour flight... no bueno. Also, I could not check in online to get seats and I wasn't able to upgrade. My husband was stuck 13 rows behind me. Worst flight ever."
Pros: "My wife and I have flown on many airlines. This was one of our best experiences. All the staff that we came across were ridiculously helpful and very understanding. Despite us getting held up in traffic and running quite late, staff members of both American Airlines and Qantas were extremely calming and reassuring the whole way through. Flight was extremely comfortable and entertainment was fantastic. Made the trip really easy."
Cons: "Food wasn't the greatest. Barely touched the breakfast and dinner meal. Supposedly the flight had free wifi, but I honestly couldn't eat that to work for me."
Pros: "The entertainment selection was prolific, with many many movies to choose from including recent releases. The staff provided plenty of beverages to help the time slide by nicely. The seats had both USB and 110V power outlets which was awesome. The entertainment systems work with regular iPhone headsets which was good."
Cons: "Couldn't get our meal preference selected, Iberia page for the flight check-in didn't work at all, getting a page not found error. Then after calling Iberia, and getting the AA confirmation managed to at least get into AAs web site for the flight, but now it was apparently too late to change our food option, and AA wouldn't work with us at all, the phone agent event LIED on the phone suggesting we could talk to customer service at the airport to have them provide an appropriate meal option. The customer service line was CORDONED OFF at LAX, and getting help out of their agents was like trying to get blood from a stone. The worst customer service experience I've ever had, even than Comcast. Then, I guess this ticket is economy minus, you have to pay more for seats that aren't at the total arse end of the plane. WTF. Economy means economy, not the back end of economy, but now you gotta pay to "upgrade" to regular economy. I can't imagine what that must have been like for families of four with children who are being extorted just so they can sit together. Then at the airport, despite having been assigned a gate, the plane came into a different gate, and we're just sitting there slowly wondering more and more why there aren't many people around. Finally we have to go ask another airlines' desk where our plane is at (it never had a correct gate assignment on the monitors) to figure out where we had to board. No announcement, no agent at the old gate to direct passengers to the correct place. Upon traveling to London on the red-eye, they proceeded to keep the plane completely dark the entire trip. No attempt to help passengers adjust to the destination time zone at all. Trying to open a window resulting in being curtly asked to close it. Jet lag on eastbound transatlantic is bad enough without the airline making it worse. On the return journey the line for the gate was around the corner AFTER boarding had started, and people couldn't board in any sort of order. My entertainment system crashed, when they finally came round with food, I could ask them to reset it. Having paid for the Wifi, which is fine, it's an add-on service, it was difficult to connect to, my phone really struggled to bring up the sign-in page, and I had to reboot my laptop three times, clearing my browser cache to get it to connect. The connection and payment screens were very slow, which was because the wifi overall was very slow. I am sitting on the plane waiting to hear from my father about his critical surgery with my phone dropping on and off the wifi due to slowness and extreme packet loss (>50%). I had been hoping to get some work done on the flight, so much for that idea, I couldn't maintain a solid VPN connection for more than 5 minutes at a time. I will never fly AA again unless they are the last option at a non-horrible price. This was an emergency trip as it was, and booked through Iberia; thanks for nothing Iberia."
Cons: "Check in through website was confusing to do. Flight shows on alaska airlines sight as a united flight. I downloaded the united app, and it tells me my flight is not just through american airlines, but through another carrier, american freedom or aomething like that. Very confusing. I called someone, I think american airlines, by this time completely confused. If there are multiple carrier types, I should be able to input my flight number and my info ahould come up for me to view flight info and check in, or seat assignment. In the end I dowloaded 2 or 3 apps, a confusing phone call, and when i got to rhw intial check in I was not treated well by tsa personnel. Maybe my name triggered thw extra search or something.Anyway, that last part is unrelated but my return flight was kind of a struggle."

Asked the flight attendants and spoke to the captain after the flight as the front coach section of the aircraft was at least 10 degrees hotter than the rear. We were all taking layer of off cloths as it was so hot. Seems the first class attendants were not monitoring the temps which regulars the temps just behind first class. Told the flight attendant who also acknowledged it but the first class attendants did not make the change Many were angry. We were on the Tarmac for almost 1.5 hours waiting for the plane to be de-iced. No AC during the process."
Cons: "- The entertainment system was not working - needed few restarts - on many seats - Food - horrible - Air hostess dropped water on me - not a problem by itself as accidents do happen. However her comment was more annoying - no sorries - not apologies - just said - "oh it's just water - it is refreshing" - Seats pushback was almost broken - it would break your thumb to push the button and then almost stand to push the seat back. - This was transatlantic flight and you charge for liquor? It is not free - you have to purchase - They ran out of red wine (which was free) by the end of the first meal. Do you keep just one bottle for this big 777 fight. - Overall experience was horrible."

Cons: "I thought I was booking an Alaska Airlines flight. I booked on Alaska Airlines website. I picked seats. I missed the part in the email I received later saying I didn't have seats. I never received a check in notification email. It took forever to check in at the airport because the the kiosk took a while to pull up my reservation after asking for additional information. I got stuck with middle seats on 5 hour plus flights when I had actually checked to confirm I could still select a window seat before I booked and did indeed select window seats when I booked."

Had to sleep in the Chicago airport on the floor. American Airlines did not offer hotel, no food vouchers, not even a blanket... very disappointed with how they treated everyone. I couldn't even buy a blanket bc all of the stores were closed. I understand that flights get delayed and things happen.. but at least give me a pillow and blanket to sleep in an airport when you force me to stay in an airport for 12+ hours."

Cons: "Once again my flight was delayed, this time 50 minutes!! . Last time i had to stop in Vegas I got stuck there overnigh because my flight had been delayed and to mKe things worse they also managed to Miss my flights connection in Miami after they had booked me a new flight.. With a window seat that had no window. I old the flight attendant that I needed help stowing my backpack in the overhead bin, not because it was that heavy or big, but because the previous flight had been 5 hrs long and after being stuck in the middle seat my back was killing me and lifting my bag over my head would have triggered a muscle spasm. I have a back condition and they refused to help me. She would not even hear me out and insisted on me to check my bag, which I refused to because my laptop and tablet were in there without propper padding to protect them. The same flight attendant had already yelled at a passanger and was making a scene that made several other passengers uncomfortable. i understand the flight was full and they were delayed enough, but the airline clients should not have to pay for the airline's mistakes."

Cons: "I had asked for a vegetarian meal when I booked the tickets - this request didn't come through on my booking. I asked again at check-in, they informed me I should have called 24 hours before and organised it. Luckily the flight had vegetarian meal options onboard so I did not starve. The movie selection was not the best. The entertainment unit itself was really good however."

Cons: "I did not like that I missed my flight the night before due to something going wrong in the airport and all the counters were closed down early To go help. (I was told this the next day when I asked) So I actually had to pay for the next flight out tomorrow for no reason just because something happened and American refused to print my ticket still. Also I couldn't self check In either! had I been able to do this I would have made my flight, this airport is small I would have walked thru security in 5mins. Didn't make any sense to me at all. I was highly disappointed with Alaska and American. Alaska made me buy a new ticket and when I asked the American counter they didn't understand why I had to pay, they said I should have just been re booked!"

Cons: "Flight was 4 people overbooked. Boarding time was unclear because thr airport never changed the boarding time on screens. We also had to have our passports checked 3 times 2 through regular customs and one just to get into the small waiting lounge. Families and friends' seats were scattered throughout the plane. Boarding was chaotic because children were crying because of separation. Didn't realize this fought was operated by American Airlines so I couldn't call ahead of time, but even then... There were no switching because there was zero space."

Cons: "I booked through Alaska and received an Alaska boarding pass that stated the flight was operated by Sky West. To be sure I was at the right terminal I confirmed with the security agent before going through TSA. Once through the disorganized security check I sought out a departure screen but could not find my flight anywhere. I approached a gate agent to assist and he told me my flight was on American, located outside of security and in the terminal I had just come from. He confirmed that despite the verbiage on my boarding pass my flight was neither being handled through Alaska OR SkyWest. I hurried back to the first terminal and asked the security agent but she did not speak much English and could not help me. I then hurried to the American Airlines desk where the woman was also confused. She told me there was a flight to LAX but not operated by American, operated by American Eagle. She confirmed that this was the correct flight and at my prompt gave me a new boarding pass from American. After running back through another very disorganized TSA I finally made it to my gate in time to board. My seat was located next to a woman who took up 1.5 seats and required me to lean into the aisle to avoid touching her at all times. All and all a sub par flying experience."
Pros: "I liked looking forward to the flight because it was supposed to be on JAL. So I liked the flight until I got to the airport for the flight. After that, I didn't like much. The one nice thing was the 110 V power outlet at my seat. That was great."
Cons: "I didn't like that I bought a JAL ticket and ended up on American. There is a world of difference between the two and I feel like I was a victim of a bait and switch. American Airlines experience was blatantly different. No smiling people, attitude, lack of respect. Less amenities, more crowded. And of course, they lost my luggage. Why not cap off a perfectly "meh" experience. The US airlines, AA in particular, have a long way to go if they ever want to compete with anyone but themselves. I suggest every AA employee be required to take a flight on JAL, Emirates, Virgin, and see how it really can be done (still profitably) without making your customers feel like cattle. Honestly, its sad to experience such a diametrically opposed experience in the course of one trip."
Pros: "Crew was efficient and professional. I got priority boarding for some unknown reason, so that went a long way toward making it stress-free up front. Was able to get my 22x14x9 roll-aboard in the overhead baggage compartment with wheels out, even though it doesn't fit in the sizing cage. Power to run/charge phones and other electronic devices is a much welcomed upgrade."
Cons: "The seating configuration on American's A319's is lamentable. I'm 6 feet, 170 lbs and have never felt cramped on the Boeing 737s on Alaska Airlines, but the seat pitch on this plane was torture. The only thing that made it bearable was the dumb luck of not having a middle seat passenger so I could shift my legs and feet over in front of the empty seat and lift up the armrest. The window seat seemed particularly compromised as far as room goes. The IFE box takes up about 25% of your foot room. I still can't believe that in this day and age you still need a bread box sized enclosure to support the seatback screen. I could barely open my 11 in screen laptop - I had to type w/ the keyboard at a steep angle. And what's w/ only one emergency exit door over each wing. Not very reassuring."
Pros: "1 flight attendant, though not super sweet, was sincerely helpful & cared about my parents' ability to move about the plane safely. The others were a little rude/fake but I appreciated that 1. I also appreciated the help we received pushing my parents in wheelchairs at LAX once we finally did get them."
Cons: "No actual food (other than cheese) available for a 6-hour flight, to buy or for free, luckily my mother brought some food on board or I would've been very upset. There is no internet/wifi for flights to/from Hawaii, AA should just be upfront about that bc I kept checking my connection but ended up looking at a map that showed nothing working over the Pacific ocean. We had to request a wheelchair for my elderly father at both gates (in LIH & LAX) even though we were assured there would be one waiting."

Cons: "I can't even come close to counting how many flights I've ever been on in my lifetime, but for me, this attendant was the absolute WORST I've ever come across. He was SO rude to so many passengers, I could hardly believe it. I've also maybe only ever taken the time to write less than a handful of reviews of flights, so I hope that leaving this comment says something. If I were American Airlines, I would NOT want this person representing my business. I took a photo of him on my phone with the original intention of reporting him directly to the airline. I have yet to find the time."
Pros: "Once I finally got on a plane, there were no problems. Lots of options for good films. Friendly crew on board the flight. Made it on time."
Cons: "At JFK, I was waiting at my gate for two hours and at some point during that time, the flight switched gates. I didn't hear the announcement, and since there continued to be people around me, I saw no reason for concern until it got close to departure time and I still hadn't been prompted to begin boarding. I was trying to be patient and not bother anyone, and that was where I went wrong. I should have been more vigilant because they certainly don't go out of their way to help you at American Airlines. When I finally asked the woman at the desk when we were boarding for LA, she told me the gate had moved and was about to close, so I ran to the other gate right as they were closing the doors. The plane was still there, but they wouldn't let me through the gate. I remained calm and explained that I had a ticket for this flight. I didn't feel even the slightest bit of empathy coming from them. They put me on a long list of standby passengers, and I had to wait for several more hours until I finally got on a flight. During that time, the crew at the desks were so unfriendly and dismissive, I decided I did not want to support American Airlines again. This was the first time I had a major problem with an airline company. I tend to be a stress-free traveler, but this was a pretty awful experience overall."

Cons: "I find it odd that a flight that was almost as long as my international flight does not even provide a complimentary snack. Especially since it definitely occurs at the same time as a meal time. The plane was freezing. I am used to lift off being cold but the plane remained cold for more than half the flight. It kept me very uncomfortable the entire time. I only saw the flight attendants bring beverages by twice, at the beginning and the end of a 6 hour flight. They asked a little after the first drink but with no carts. Entertainment is obviously lacking. There is not even one default complimentary movie to watch. For a long flight it was terribly hard to not focus on how cold and hungry I was."
