Cons: "I had a connection through Kunming to Shanghai to Honolulu . The flight to Kunming was delayed and they put me in another non-direct flight to shanghai. Last row window. When I reached Shanghai they said there is no more seats left on the Honolulu flight since they were overbooked. it’s a torturous experience dealing with them especially when they don’t understand much English."

Cons: "Flying business and Immediately on board was asked for my menu choice for dinner. Flight departure was 830am! Language capabilities of the cabin crew seemed more like a Chinese domestic flight rather than an international one."
Pros: "I do not think the check in staff could have been any more useless, they wanted us to collect our luggage at every transfer, the plane was cramped, obviously made for people a lot shorter than my 6 ft, majority of the food was not edible for western people. I will not be using them again."

As you can imagine it was very stressful driving 2 hours in traffic to GET to lax early to only find out they wouldn’t allow me to board the 11:30am flight with China eastern because my flight was SUPPOSED to be with CHINA Southern Sunday night."
Cons: "If someone could please call me to discuss the $460 I had to pay Monday evening and the day wasted Monday December 4th I would be grateful. I have booked with kayak.com in the past and have never had any issue. For some reason kayak emailed me the wrong boarding time and airline"

Cons: "There was no pillow on our seat when we got on and we were told we could not get one. Which was a bummer since the seat cushion was so thin and wildly uncomfortable; I could feel the metal rail beneath it. The wine ran out by the time the cart got to us (which was weird because we saw half a bottle go in to the back.. we were the second to last row). They did offer beer which was 60% foam and warm/flat. We were borded and then told of 30 minute delay after we were told to shut our phone off.. only to realize we were getting emails about the delay sent to us while we were sitting there with phones off. Also No Vegetarian option and wasn't sure how to indicate that on my ticket. No drinks after food service. Also no entertainment for a 7hour flight that doesn't let you use electronics!"
Cons: "The line for boarding was multiple hours long at the China Eastern counter, which made me late for boarding, not giving me enough time to go through immigration and security. I arrived while boarding was in process, not giving me any time to eat, use the restroom, or prepare before the flight. If the line was much longer, and if immigration didn't give me urgent priority, I could have very well missed my flight through no fault of my own."

Cons: "The staff of China Eastern was horrible. The check in counter was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and downright mean. I was traveling alone with 4 children and they were not one bit helpful. I actually missed my flight, they didn't tell me that it would take so long to get through security and not a single person would assist me in getting our flight changed and getting us on our plane. We will never fly China Eastern again."

Cons: "The airline had 2 delays which created a very stressful connection. I knew my luggage wasn't going to make it, so I requested to stay longer to make sure my luggage was with me. I was told my bag was onboard after a woman looked at her digital device after scanning my bag check ticket. I showed up to Hawaii and NONE of my luggage was there. MY plan was to connect to the big island immediately. I was going to cruise around the big island camping and surfing. I had to change those plans because again I knew my luggage wasn't going to get to me. I bought an unexpected night hotel in Honolulu, only to learn the BAG still wasn't going to arrive the NEXT day. I had to buy clothes and toilette supplies. They offered me $50, which covered the taxi rides....I went to the big island anyway because I couldn' just wait and not get my luggage anyway. I filed the paperwork and spoke with the manager on duty and he agreed to mail my luggage home direct when it arrived to their possession. Four days later I received a call saying my luggage was in Kona. Terrible experience, I'll never fly with them again."

In flight,They don't allow you to use phones in airplane mode, even just to read or listen to, and You can't easily use your own headphones for the in flight entertainment,and the quality of the earbuds supplied is so low. But the worst part were the delays in Shanghai, and lack of information from the airline about what to do. A 3 hour delay from London meant we missed our connection and had to stay overnight. Poor communication from the airline or airport employees resulted in a confusing and stressful 12 hours... A simple handout explaining how the free hotel thing worked would be very helpful. (The hotel they put us up at was actually pretty nice!) Despite the generally pleasant flight experience, we will be avoiding China Eastern and transiting in Shanghai in the future."

Pros: "Seats were okay. It wasn't a full flight so we had extra seats which made it more comfortable. Toilets were relatively clean except for the sinks which collected water when you wash your hands."
Cons: "Toilet sink needs to be checked as the water does not go down fast enough when washing hands. Food needs to be improved, it's edible but not very nice."
