Pros:Alamo is my go-to car rental company now. Very friendly service, and their phone agents are really helpful if there's any problems. Especially when you pick up and drop off a car in different locations, which I often do.Cons:The only problem was picking up and dropping off at locations that are NOT airports. Always call the locations before you go and know their hours of operation. These are not 24/7 satellites. One place closed at 6 pm; another at 2 pm!Reviewed 2019 Jun 11

Pros:The cost to rent a "premium" car was very reasonable and brought us out to Stamford. Robert, the office manager, was very personable and nice to work with.Cons:The car (a Chrysler 300) had about 30K miles so it was far from new. It was filthy inside and out. The windshield was dirty on the inside which made it hard to see in some conditions. The oil was overdue to be changed and it dinged a reminder every time we started up to go somewhere. Also, it had a badly warped brake rotor. Also, it was, unfortunately, an uncomfortable car for me and not very nice to drive.Reviewed 2017 Nov 18

Worried the car might break downPros:The gentleman at checkout in Stamford was quick and professional.Cons:The car had the wrench symbol (I.e. it was due for servicing) from the get go. The engine did not sound great and rattled such that I was concerned the car was going to break down on me. The car's tank was only 7/8 full and I had to tell the agent, who had marked it as full on my rental agreement. When I called in to change my drop-off location it took forever to get someone on the line.Reviewed 2017 Aug 29
