Pros:I like that the staff was very nice and professional.Cons:The car was not very clean and it smelled like cigarettes and marijuana. The window washer fluid was empty. There was a minor dent in the rear quarter panel.Reviewed 2021 Jan 31

Cons:I was originally booked with Hertz, but when I got there I was told I would have to wait 45 minutes for my vehicle. The woman at the Budget counter overheard and said that Budget had vehicles available right away and it would only cost $20 more. I cancelled my Hertz reservation and then got a rental from Budget. The car I was given was very dirty and smelled like cigarettes. I requested a different car. It was cleaner, but still had a slight smell. For the new car, the Budget agent did not update my rental information, so when I got to the exit gate, I was told I had to go back to the counter. I was turned away from the exit gate three times because the agent was not paying attention and repeatedly failed to correctly update my rental agreement. I spent an hour dealing with these errors. If I had stayed with Hertz, I would have left sooner and my rental would have cost less.Reviewed 2021 Feb 16

Pros:I loved that everything was easy.Cons:The gate service could have been better. The man checking me out of the gate got smart with me and I just asked him a few questions while filling out the damage sheet of what I saw. Then upon leaving, either the gate was malfunctioning or the attendance were messing around. The gate first closed on my hood and luckily I wasn’t on the spikes. I looked back and waited for them to open and when they did the gate closed on the top of the car and luckily I didn’t get spiked but it left a long white mark on the top driver side. Thankfully its not serious. The guy behind me was in the same situation but he got spiked and of course he’s mad but his attendant said “It’s your car! It’s your fault!” I am a witness I don’t it was his fault and I hope he’s not charged for it. This was 12/13/19 around 11:00 pm.Reviewed 2019 Dec 16

Cons:I was unable to actually rent a car due to a policy concerning reserving a car with a debit card. I thought my reservation was completely fine, but when I arrived I was told that I must use a credit card to pay. There had been no acknowledgement of this policy in any of the information I received prior from Budget, so I did not have a credit card with me. I was unable to rent a car and ended up having to find another way to get home for the holidays. I was - and am - EXTREMELY frustrated by the whole experience and will never try to use any Budget service again. I understand that these things happen, but the customer service was rude and unhelpful, and the company added huge, unnecessary stress to my holiday travels.Reviewed 2016 Nov 30

Never made it there.Pros:Never made it there.Cons:For the 3rd time now I was denied a rental car because my credit score was destroyed in the recession through no fault of my own. I am a licensed professional who makes 6 figures, and I can’t even rent a car. There is something really, really wrong with that. This will be the last time I ever reserve a rental car from Budget, as well as Dollar or Thrifty, and I will not be renting any more cars at all until the car companies change their policies regarding using cash and/or debit cards. I’m fed up with these rental car companies leaving me stranded because I am now financially intelligent enough not to play into the credit game that is screwing all of us out of our hard earned money. We ended up taking a beautiful new bus to Connecticut and booked a commuter flight from there to DC. It didn’t cost us much more, saved us time and hours of driving. Rental cars are going to be my option of absolute last resort from now on. If we all stop renting from these companies and use other forms of transportation it is not only better for the planet and we CAN force them to change their policies.Reviewed 2018 May 29

Pros:This was the worst rental car experience I've ever had. The line was 1 hour, 45 minutes alone. ALONE! Then, when we got assigned the car, they told us the car was boxed in and it would be another 5-10 minutes. Fine. We've already waited so long. But they LIED. We waited ANOTHER 45 minutes to get the stupid car! We asked multiple employees around where it was. 4 people said they'd look for it - never came back. One guy, the one who checked us out, told us it was beyond their control - "it's the pick of the litter!" WHAT? They got cars for nearly TEN customers who were BEHIND us. Why could we just switch cars? Finally, my husband went to go find the car. it was raised, and undergoing a deep cleaning. "it was left really messy, we need to clean it up." Okay.... why wasn't this done the night before? Why weren't we assigned a car that WAS READY? When we finally got it, ti stunk like cigarrette smoke, and there were massive stains and dents that were NOT marked on the contract. They also noted it was a full gas gauge - WRONG. it was less than 3/4 full. They still wanted us to bring it back full. Absolutely disgusting to drive in, and staff were so unhelpful and it was a long hot wait. Horrible. Do NOT recommend.Cons:Everything could have been better. They really needed to innovate and make the line move faster, be more flexible, be kinder, and more understanding.Reviewed 2020 Aug 11
