After landing, I went to the Alamo line and waited for an hour and a half in line until it was my turn. It was not reasonable. They had one worker behind the counter and he would go behind the door for about 10 minutes and then return. This happened continuously. I will never book with Alamo again in Portland

A rolling empty beer can in the back, film of tobacco smoke making the rear window impossible to see through, same for the front windshield. Apparently the manager wanted to issue some refund on my credit card upon the return, but that never happened. Plenty of apologies though...

POOR customer service and response time to calls

Cons:

We had a problem because my husband was exposed and contracted Corvid the whole experience was handled as poorly as posible and lewft us with a huge bill when we informed them immediately. We won't be using Enterprise ever again

Pros:

I got the last car available and the interior had a strong smell of gas for the entire duration of the trip. I had to drive with the windows rolled down and no one from Enterprise answered the phone while trying to connect with them and ask if I could exchange the car during the trip from Portland to Bar Harbor.

A real person answering the phone and/or calling me back.

Did not pick car up. Tried to cancel and was told it was non refundable. Kayak said it was but priceline said no???? Deceptive when one that you reserve car on says it is but then it switches to another company that changes the rules.

Pros:

The agent accommodated our change request at the desk efficiently and the upgrade was more than satisfactory.

Cons:

Off hours drop off needs some work. There were no clear instructions or directions as to where to deposit the keys. I dropped them off at the unmanned desk. I never received a notice that the keys were accounted for.

Clean, nice car. Had called Avis in advance to request GPS and was told no problem. Then when I arrived they said they didn’t have it. Didn’t try to help problem-solve or anything and I had a 6 hrs drive in unfamiliar territory ahead of me. If I had known in advance I would have looked up on maps ahead of time.

The electric car was nice but could only charge it 30 min at a time. The heater didn’t work when it was below a certain temperature outside. Not a good idea to rent electric cars in cold climates. We returned the car and exchanged it. The second car wasn’t as nice. But it worked. We were happy in the end to have a normal car but missed the heated seats and steering wheel.

I used my Apple Credit card. It changed card number every month. You should know that. Hertz personel wanted same card number. I already paid but my card number changed. It took 1 hour. I had to call costumer service and change my credit card number. If you don’t accept Apple Credit card, I could use another card. You didn’t!

Really poor. Was going to be placed in an EV which is not what I ordered since I was going to a little town with no charging stations. Had to move from a small size SUV to crappy sedan and pay extra $50/ day for it. I’m very unhappy about this reservation all around. Sedan car was horrible, smelled of barf and smoke.

In spite of Kayak or Hotwire sending me a reservation number when I got to the Portland airport National could not find my reservation and would not rent me a car. I have already sent a blistering email to one of you sucky third parties about this awful experience and I am astonished you keep asking me about it. Truly one of the WORST experiences I have ever had while traveling. Do not contact me again for any reason!!!!!

First car had less than half a tank of gas, and multiple warning lights (tire pressure low, needs oil change…). Second car was dirty- something spilled in back seat, previous renter papers, something spilled on dash-white…At over $100 a day, for a week, nobody checks these cars out?
