Pros: Car was not what we reserved, but was ok.
Cons: We were forced to take the additional insurance after I showed proof of having full coverage European insurance through USAA, and an American Express card that paid any deductibles. It was a rip off and a scam. I've rented cars all over Europe for many years, and have not been forced to take additional coverage. Rental was reserved over a month in advance, with no mention of this "policy". When we arrived in Munich at 10PM, on the weekend before Christmas, we were forced to accept it because there were no other cars available in the area.
Cons: They only accept platinum or gold as car insurance .
Cons: We paid for an SUV, but arrived at the airport to find that Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty all share a desk. There was a very long line and not enough employees. There were also no cars available. They were having people write their names on a list and as cars came in, you were called to come get a car. You got whatever came in, which in our case was a compact. They didn't adjust our rate to compensate for the size difference. Additionally, our credit card and car insurance both have rental car coverage, however, they stated that unless you had one of four specific credit cards, you couldn't decline the coverage required for Germany. The coverage alone was higher than the rental rate. We had no choice to pay, but what should've been a $100 rental turned into a $250 rental. The required Germany insurance information should've been posted when making the reservation and they should've over-rent for the inventory they have.
Pros: Drop off was easy.
Cons: Vehicle had a mechanical issue and no help was available. Overcharged and no one responds to requests for contact to address the issue. No receipt provided at rental OR at drop off to show the amount I was going to be charged was more than $1200 more than I agreed to pay.
Cons: The pickup and drop off was bad. Poor directions, poor communication. Tried to blame me for scratches that were already there. And they gave me a car with huge scratches and needed an oil change.
Pros: Yes. Drop-off was super simple.
Cons: I found out that I had to purchase additional insurance because I did not have an AMEX platinum card. My Visa provides coverage. It would have been nice to know before I got there, 34 additional Euros on a 99 Euro rental.
Cons: I was expecting it to cost around 100$. Instead it cost me 200 because the forced me to get insurance- even though I’m already insured. Also they put a 500$ hold on my credit card and charged everything in euros. I still do not have my money back. I’m upset over this.
Cons: It was NOT clear that Hertz operated the Dollar counter. The drop off experience was horrible. the check in person was rude and abrupt. Drop off area wasn't clearly marked for which car rental company because Hertz was the operating rental company rather than Dollar itself
Pros: Not what I *did* like... What I would like doing is suing Kayak and Dollar
Cons: First of all, the address Landsbergerstr. 293 doesn't exist anymore: there is a gigantic construction instead. When we figured out that we show go to Hertz, they hadn't no more cars to rent, although we have reserved one. So, I suppose you can answer this question for me.
Pros: No insurance was included.
This was very unclear
Cons: Insurance at a basic level should be included. Very misleading
Pros: Didn’t have a car for me
Cons: Wish they had a car for me. The one I reserved online.
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: We rented a small Mercedes which they didn’t have so they gave us a large and supposedly dent-free Volvo. After completing the paperwork, we walked to a parking structure only to find that the car was damaged. We had to walk back to the office, but we’re told they had no other cars.
