The reservation agent charged me two extra hours (almost a full day's rate, three hours would have been a full day's rate). I was unaware I was a little more than an hour early, I had made the reservation a month and a half ago. When I noticed the total amount was more than what was on my reservation paperwork I was told it was because I was early. When I said I could go have lunch and come back in an hour the agent replied she's already opened the reservation and couldn't change it now. She said she could only cancel the reservation and that I'd be free to make a new one. This was during the covid car shortage and they were turning away people due to the shortage of cars and the cars that were available were renting at a premium. I know canceling a reservation is not the only option unless it is a new company top down policy.8.0 Very good

And, I felt ripped off by all the extra fees, etc. Based on the "advertised" Kayak price, we should have paid much less buying making an advance deposit. The fees drove up the total significantly. I liked nothin about it. Staff not helpful. Long line. At front of line, I was told that my noon reservation was for a location 1/4 mile from the airport ( though it at an address called “airport road” and that that location was closed at the time of my pickup so I couldn’t pick go to pick it up). Who Allows a car rental reservation at a closed location? Then when they said they might have a car for me anyway, even though they weren’t giving cars to “walk ins”, I could not rent it with a debit card, even though they had a large sign that said to Rent with a debit card, you needed a return plane ticket. I had that and showed it. They didn’t care. Then I said- could you please hold that car until I ubered to my hotel And back and picked up a different credit card. They said no. I didn’t want to risk that car not being available. So I found a better car rental agency.(Avis) And will never rent from Enterprise again.Cons:

There were twenty people in line, one woman at the counter and a man flitting around with car keys in his hand and not interacting with customers and no apology from anyone foe the long line. I left a portable battery charger and cord in the center console. I went back to the Enterprise desk at PSP within an hour of returning the car. Was told car was on the ‘back lot’ for an oil change. And the back lot closed at 4pm. Promised to call next day which someone did. They found a cord that wasn’t mine ap obviously it wasn’t from my car. I had to buy a new one which cost over half what the car rental was. My fault yes. But either I was being fed a line about the oil change or else someone helped themselves to a charger. Second bad experience with Enterprise on a row. Rental in Portland lasts a month- reserved a compact but all they had was an aptly names Armada or a a pickup truck. I ended up spending over $100 on gas for the week.10.0 Wonderful
