There was some damage to the frontend of the car that we were not made aware of. We were a little concerned that we would be held responsible but all was well.

When I rented the car online I said I wanted to drop off at McCarran airport in Las Vegas and pick up in Palm Springs. When I got the contract at the Palm Springs airport, it said I had to drop it off at the Venetian Hotel in Las vegas. My flight was to leave at 5 AM from Las Vegas and I needed to return the car at 3 AM. The location at the Venetian hotel will be closed at that time. I called Hertz and asked if I could return the car to the Las Vegas airport they said I could for a charge of $320. And then a few moments later he said I could not because there was no drop off box for the key at the Las Vegas airport location, the location would not open until 7 AM. He then told me I could drop it off at the north Las Vegas airport at 3 AM for a charge of $16. I agreed to that. Something told me to go early, and it's a good thing I did. I arrived at the north Las Vegas airport at 9:30. That airport closes at 10:30. There was no one in the airport at all no one at the Hertz counter. So I hid the key behind the computer screen and left a note. Had i gone in at 3 AM in the morning like Hertz had told me to go there, I would never have been able to have left the key. I was charged $36 for dropping the car off instead of $16. It is inconceivable to me that a large corporation like Hertz would not have a 24 hr operation at the airport in Las Vegas where the city never sleeps and many flights take off very early in the morning. I just don't appreciate being told one price in charged another. And apparently the Hertz call center was oblivious to the times one to drop off a car in the middle of the night in Las Vegas.

The rental agent, Drew, was helpful and courteous, but I did feel pressured to purchase extra insurance, which I had already purchased as part of my initial reservation.

The employees were wonderful at all of the locations I went to.My car was breaking down on my drive from palm springs to Phoenix and I was on hold for roadside for over 2 hours without an answer. This is beyond unacceptable and I will never rent a car from Hertz again. I am grateful for the exchange at the phoenix airport and the nice employees, but you need to get your call center local, not in the Philippines and help people who are broken down. Its completely dangerous to have somebody who needs help be left on hold for any time over 5 minutes, let alone 2 hours with still no answer.

So easy to rent in Palm Springs. Just walk out of the airport and down to the rental car area. The sales associate was very friendly and helpful. Easy return as well.

We were supposed to get a class special or bigger. We were told we would have a tiny sedan.... we were traveling with tall husband and infant (and allll the infant things). But don’t worry - for more money they had a bigger car! I realize rental cars are at a premium... but come on... the check in process was INCREDIBLY slow

Drop-off at PSP is always a breeze - great job! Cars were very clean and well-maintained.Very poor customer service at counter. My online deal was that "Hertz picks the car." When I asked for a larger car - SUV or minivan - agent said he could only give me a compact car for the price. When I negotiated with him, he said he could give me a very small SUV for $11 more/day. I accepted. But his manager had to put a special code into the computer and the manager was on dinner break. Agent asked me to return later that night. He didn't say why - the reason is that when I returned the next day for the larger car, I had to pay taxes and rental fees twice !!!!! He never mentioned that. He just asked me several times when we first spoke whether I could come back later the same day - he never said why. When I returned for the larger vehicle the next day, THEN I was told about all the added taxes and fees. He should have been more up-front with me from the beginning. Very unhappy about that. His name was Edgar at PSP office.
