The location was billed as Palm Springs downtown,but it’s it. It’s in a light industrial area on other side of airport. It’s further from downtown than the airport with no shuttle. And an extra $20 at least to uber to it and back to airport. Car we ordered was not available.Reviewed 2025 Feb 17

We arrived at the Avis to learn that there were no cars despite having a confirmation number so we had to go without a rental car for 3 extra days.Reviewed 2025 Jan 03

When we arrived by plane at our destination we hadn't realized that our rental was booked with an Avis office about 20 minutes away from the airport by foot. The clerk at the airport counter said he couldn't help us with an airport rental but told us the other office was open until 5:00pm and it was now 3:45. He also did not offer to call the other office and advise them that we were on our way as our pick up time was 4:00. When I arrived at the rental office at 4:05 it was CLOSED!!! I then had to try and phone Avis to see what they could do and was booked for a rental at the airport now for $200. more than I had prepaid already. After walking another 20 minutes back to the airport in the dark, a different clerk at the Avis airport counter was very nice and had let my wife start the rental process before I arrived. The whole process was very frustrating and added a lot of time to an already very long day. Why would a rental office let you book a pickup time of 4:00 if that is exactly when they close??Reviewed 2024 Dec 12
