Bussiness hours are not right. First flight at hobby airport is at 6am , so if they open at 5, I have to check the bags, go thru the check point and then walk to the gate. I almost lost my flight.Cons:
Move back the operating hours to 4am. Thats my suggestion.Budget

Quick process. Showed up they had my reservation they were ready to go took me less than 5 minutes to get my vehicle. Upon returning, staff saw I had oversized item and instead of making me transfer to a shuttle they drove me to the airport in my vehicle. Very much appreciated!Cons:

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with any of this process at the Hobby Payless/AVIS location. I hate leaving bad reviews however each part of the process was full of problems and deceiving tactics.Cons:
They had no vehicles ready to pick up that were in the size that I had a confirmation number for. They use this excuse to force you into having to pay to upgrade to another vehicle. I was asked to either wait (an unknown amount of time) or pay 20.00 a day more for a truck. Then after you agree to the new price they tell you they will email you all the paperwork. So you leave with no proof of cost and absolutely no paperwork. I logged in to my credit card account later that day and noticed I was charged 540.00. My original rental was confirmed as a full size car at 310.00 and that included the taxes and fees. So if you add the 20.00 each day you will get 60.00+ a few dollars for additional taxes. So let's add 20.00 for those. So it should have been 390.00. The drop off was easy and I spoke to the lady checking me back in and asked her if I would be charged an additional hour because I arrived at 11:09 and I was supposed to be back at 11:00. She said absolutely not. She knew I had to wait on 2 cars to figure out how to return there car and make their way into the lot. They is why I was 9 minutes late. She even said that she would make sure I wouldn't be charged for the additional hour. Guess what..... I got charged for 31.00 additional dollars for the hour.2.0 Poor

Please pay attention to customers reservation prices. The reservation was made to pick up the car at hobby airport but my plane arrived to George Bush Airport. I tried to get the car at George Bush airport and the lady at Avis told me that it was possible but she did not mentioned anyting about price changes. So when I arrived to the car and read the papers, surprise !!!! the price was not $110, The new price was more than $450 USD !! Unbelievable. so I went back to the office and cancelled the operation. Now there is a pending charge from Payless car rental charge in my credit card for $595 USD.4.0 Mediocre

The drop off process was very user friendly. We had an early drop off, so had to use the after hour drop off. Drop off was smooth and quick, maybe totaling 5 minutes tops. Price was cheap enough that we got a little better option than we would with Avis or Budget at the same price.Cons:
So Payless has now merged with Avis and Budget. This is a good idea, but neither of the Avis, nor Budget clerks knew how to link into Payless' account to pull up our reservation. After a solid 20 minutes and multiple texts to their boss, we were finally issued our rental. There was no opportunity to look it over for damage, they just kind of pushed us out of the building with vague directions as to where the vehicle was located. We found much damage (cracked front bumper, dents in the doors, tire rash to the rear, chip in the windshield, and a variety splotches missing in the paint from rocks) but were never told about it, or relieved to find out that they already knew about it. Also, a weird addition, we kept finding finger nail clippings in random interior spots... glove box, center council, in the media cup holder, on the rear seatbelts... just strange.10.0 Wonderful

Trying to find the pick up/drop off location was not easy....the hours on the web site are different than the actual hours... was stuck at the airport at 8:00 p.m with my 6yr old son with no ride to get a car because they were closed... but the web site said they were open to 1a.m..and when I called to change the hours I rented the car for nobody mentioned the change in hours!!!! Had to wait two hours for an available car at pickup, with no place to sit at pickup point. Explanation for this was that a gold member had demanded a car, and they always receive priority. There were 20 people waiting with us. One man said he had been there three hours. Also, felt ripped off on the gas-tank charge. We were given the option to either fill the tank or be charged an extra $43 at drop off. We filled the tank, only to find out that thrifty charges you $36 regardless. So, we spent $20 to fill the tank for a savings of $7 on the total bill. Slimy.2.0 Poor

Drop off was a NIGHTMARE. Flew in to Houston Hobby, arrived about 4:45pm local time. Waited for a shuttle for 20+ min. Saw other car rental companies shuttles but not thrifty. Finally called. They said the location was CLOSED for the day! They close at 4pm on a Saturday!!! Had to uber twice and go back the next day to pick up the car. Very frustrating. As a suggestion maybe send the hours of the location and if there is an after hours drop/pick up available at time of booking???2.0 Poor

My ENTIRE experience with Thrifty car rental was terrible. I had a reservation for my pickup time set for 1:00 pm and I didn’t receive my vehicle until 3:41 pm. My vehicle was NOT the vehicle that I reserved and my experience was a total disaster. The rental company was overwhelmed and they didn’t care about the customers at all. There was NO communication whatsoever regarding why there was a (2) two hour delay in receiving your vehicle. There was NO compensation or empathy at all.Cons:

When I arrived in Houston, myself and a group of other people were told that there were absolutely no cars available. This information not only ruined my trip but I felt it was very unprofessional for National to relay this information through the shuttle bus driver rather than a manager. The next day when I called to see if a car was available, I was told that if there was one, my total was be 159. That was DOUBLE my original rental price for half the day. I am extremely dissatisfied with National and will NEVER book with them again.Cons:
