Excellent experience for the most part; The vehicle was underpowered but honestly that is my fault. It was flashing a "Needs Maintenance" sign the whole time. Will definitely return.

Pros:

The staff called me while I was changing planes to get to Houston and said they had to cancel my reservation because they were closing early for the holiday. It cost me over twice what my reservation was to get another car from another rental agency because they wanted to go home early and not honor their contract. I will never rent from Hertz again. this is the second time they have done this to me in Houston.

Cons:

Gotten a car from a reliable rental agency.

Pros:

Staff were less than friendly upon drop-off and pickup. Became surly when they wanted to upcharge me for a larger car on a pre-paid rental. I reserved a compact and was told that they didn't have any, and would have to charge me more for a larger car. I refused, and the representative became surly and somehow found a compact car.

Cons:

The car was filthy dirty, despite the "sanitized" logo on the door. Stained seats and carpet, funky odor, and generally dirty both inside and out. Left rear tire lost air and alarm went on; I had to hunt and hunt and then pay $1.50 to get air in the tires. I reported this when I turned in the car and the representative merely said "we've never had that complaint before with this car."

I went to pick up my car and they had none available for me, I checked back the next 3 days and still no vehicles for me to rent. Hertz finally called on the 5th day after my rental and said that they had an SUV. They said that the had 4 cars that had balled tires and they were not given the ok to have them approved to fix. They had two other cars that were available originally when I went to their location, but they would not allow me to have them just in case someone would rent them for more money. Both cars were still on the lot when I passed by the next few days as a friend had to take me to work. I travel all the time for work and have never received this LACK OF SERVICE in 31 years in the Oil & Gas industry. Do not risk being stranded by putting your faith in this company! Hertz has lost me as a customer forever!

Pros:

Nothing. We didn’t end up renting from this place. They only had one van. The tires were worn out and when confronted by this fact, they yelled at us.

Will never rent here

The paperwork portion of the rental was exceptionally fast. The shuttle took a little longer than I expected. The pickup agent was great. The shuttle driver gave great recommendations regarding places to eat. The drop off was very convenient near the airport.

I arrived on time with confirmation number. Rented way in advance and was told they did not have the car I reserved! I needed a 7 passenger van. The kicker was that the women manning the desk had no concern whatsoever and just kept repeating they only had a 5 passenger vehicle and they could not help that someone had not returned the vehicle I rented. Sorry but yea, it could be helped. I will never use kayak again as it is simply an automated system of renting with no regard concerning the customer. Ace rentals is pathetic.

I knew something was amiss when we came out to the car rental pickup and there were no ACE shuttles. I finally got through to the office and they indicated that a shuttle was there when we said our flight came in, and had since left. So we had to wait 15 minutes for another shuttle. The pick-up was in a strip shopping area, and looked like a consignment store. All kinds of signs screaming that the unlimited mileage wouldnt apply if you went over the border out of TX, and that you couldn't bring guns or drugs into the cars. The office was a tiny desk and there were all sorts of old toys around the office. So weird. The car we received had just been returned from a fender-bender, and had all sorts of dents and marks on it. There were holes in the upholstery. There were over 109k miles on the car- and the registration was over 6 months out of date. It's kind of laughable really- we asked for another car and they said none of the cars that were supposed to come back actually did. Over the border maybe???? The staff were nice and did the best they could, but I would never rent from them again.

I did not even get to use your service.. I was not even notified that I had to call to have someone pick me up me up. When I finally called they couldn't find my reservation even though I had a reservation. I was stuck at the airport. This is a lousy service. You should send a detailed message to your clients telling them exactly what they need to do.. I will never use your service again .
