Pickup at IAH was awful. Not Hertz's fault, they didn't design the building, but it took us several laps around the building before we figured out where to park our car (we were leaving our car at IAH, driving to OKC, one way, then flying back), and was very difficult to figure out where to walk just to find the main building. I finally had to ask someone. There needs to be more signage for first timers. Now that I've been there I know what to do, but there's only a couple of small signs and a faint painted "path" to follow, that you're not sure where it leads. Also, our car might need a new battery as it struggle to start sometimes, and the rear trunk would occasionally not open. Drop off was a breeze, at Will Rogers Airport.Reviewed 2022 Aug 12

I called Kayak to let them know the flight was to get in later than what I had put for the rental reservation. They could not help me. So I called Hertz and they said they had put a note in the reservation. THEY DID NOT.... Had to make another reservation which was more money. Very frustrating and disappointing that something so simple cannot be done by either party.Reviewed 2022 Aug 09

The car itself was fine. The problem lies with Houston’s system of bussing from airport to rental center. Insufficient bus frequency means buses are super crowded. This would be unpleasant under any circumstances but really a problem in a COVID era. The rental companies, including Hertz and others, don’t seem to have incentives to improve the situation. Maybe firm-affiliated buses are inefficient but the cartel has resulted in crappy service.Reviewed 2022 Jul 31

Signs..signs..they are scarce. The Hertz desk is located INSIDE the lobby of the Westin Hotel around the corner. I had to ask valet parking where to find the desk to pickup and where to park the car on return as you enter the deck from the access road after the ramp going into the garage where reserved vehicles are parked...no signage visible pointing the way. Also, you won't get accurate GPS map directions if you use the 5060 Alabama Rd address (UBER won't find you either). You want to put in the address on the receipt for Westin Galleria to avoid circling the block in frustration, never seeing the hotel access nor signs. Luckily folks are nice in Houston so if you ask, they are happy to help. The car was clean.Reviewed 2022 Jul 17

We had an amazing trip to Texas and the minivan we rented was comfortable, spacious and held all our things, surprisingly. All the staff at Hertz Rent a Car were helpful and the drop off was quick and right across the street from the Terminal. We loved it!Reviewed 2022 Jul 01

When I booked on Kayak, it was one rate. But when I got the counter the Hertz rep insisted it was a much higher rate and forced me to take a $25 a day upcharge for a different vehicle. Very disappointing.Reviewed 2022 Jun 29

I didn't like anything, a month before picking up the van I made my reservation and paid, and the day I was going to pick it up they didn't have my van and there was no good attention. Nor in my first customer service call was my claim not made to return my money to the account.. I hope that on my second call I made if they return it to me.. 👎Reviewed 2022 Jun 14
