I rented the car for over 2 months. I was the lone driver. These people will not let even my wife drive it. They said if my wife wants to drive, I have to pay an additional $13-$14 plus..... I think this is not fair.Reviewed 2023 Jan 06

I chose this rental based on price…it was a long rental (45 days). The staff were good…the car was clean. No issues on the return…tho I haven’t yet seen the final charges on my credit card.Reviewed 2022 Oct 20

Everything went smoothly with easy pick up and drop off. The only issue we had was with the brakes after the 3rd day. They were making a thumping noise when we applied them going down steep inclines in the rockies and the steering wheel was vibrating. I was told by a mechanic that the issue was probably a warped rotor so he advised us to not ride the brakes going down a steep hill and to use them moderately.Reviewed 2022 Aug 29

Probably a sign of the times, but had to wait about 49 minutes as they had no vehicles ready when we arrived. Overall experience was good. Rental vehicle was clean but not pristine condition (vehicle well used). Operator was very kind to drive us to airport upon returning the vehicle, as a token of appreciation for the wait upon our arrival.Reviewed 2022 Jun 19

My Thrifty car rental went well. When I got there, they upgraded me from an economy car to a small SUV (and I was glad I took it as the larger vehicle suited my needs), but be aware they do upsell. The first upsell price was a little high and I asked if they could do better. They came down a bit. The overall experience was very good. They do take pictures of the vehicle when you rent to cover you for existing damage but make sure they get the whole vehicle including the inside and the roof. I didn't have any problems but protect yourself. I would recommend Thrifty and the location I rented from - 5th Ave and 1st St SE in downtown Calgary, AB. Friendly staff, efficient rental process and the vehicle was clean.Reviewed 2022 May 07
