Booked a Thrifty reservation for 6:00 pm pick up at the PAC airport in Panama City, Panama. HOWEVER all of the airport car rentals in that location close at 5:00 pm. NO where on any of my reservation information did it say that they would be closed. HOW can Kayak/ Thrifty even make and guarantee a reservation time when the location is closed. I also spoke to a representative twice to confirm the car size two days before my arrival. I had to take an Uber to the Thrifty location In Panama City and there- the customer service representatives were extremely helpful. I eventually did get a car (it was vacation week so the options were limited) Also the customer service agents at the office said that they were not surprised, that this happens often.Reviewed 2024 Jan 01

Pros:Nothing in particular. They didn’t have a car ready so we waited almost an hour. Then we got the BS bait and switch with insurance. Quote on line did not indicate need for insurance, then agent would not release car unless we purchased insurance. Standard foreigner upcharge.Cons:Have car available on time. No carCons:When I arrived at the specified time of pickup, they didn't have a car for me to rent. This was a big problem, in part because the only available car in the airport was from Express Rent a Car and it had a nail in one tire, and a thumb tack in another.
