Boston hotels in Charlestown

Cons: It's literally a YMCA. Has an outdated look/feel to it. Could smell chlorine from pool. Not worth the $200 we paid to stay.

Cons: Hotel fixtures (lights, furniture etc) were outdated and old.

Cons: Parking was an issue, you have to park in a garage 3 or 4 blocks away and walk back and forth ( in the middle of the night when you are catching an early flight ). The air conditioning was horrible, one vent that was directed towards the window and air went behind the curtains. Needed small cosmetic repairs

Cons: Walls are thin, you can hear people talking in normal voices. We felt the need to whisper. Thank goodness we had good neighbors

Cons: The temperature controls in the room seemed ineffective (the room was a bit warmer than I liked), the decor was inexpensive and outdated, and the neighborhood is in transition (construction activity taking place on one side, and an abandoned building on the other).

Cons: was surprised that it is a YMCA facility. parking was a walk away.

Cons: The whole place smells like a locker room.

Cons: The shower was extremely small and I'm claustrophobic so that was an issue for me.

Cons: IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE 10 I WOULD. IT WAS SO HOT IN THE ROOM. NO AC, THERE WAS NO DECOR, IT SMELLED AWFUL, I WAS AFRAID TO SLEEP UNDER THE COVERS EVEN IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL ENOUGH. WE HAD 6 FANS IN THE ROOM WITH 2 WINDOWS OPEN AND IT WAS SWELTERING. THE SHOWER WAS DIRTY, AND THE STAFF WAS RUDE. THERE WAS ALSO NO MENTION ON THEIR HOTELS.COM SITE THAT THE SECOND FLOOR IS A HOMELESS SHELTER/RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITY HOWEVER IT IS. THE ELEVATOR WAS BROKEN MOST OF THE NIGHT AND MY DISABLED SON ALMOST HAD TO BE CARRIED DOWN 5 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. THE PARKING GARAGE WAS LIKE 4 BLOCKS AWAY AND THEY REFUSED TO GIVE A REFUND FOR 2 REASONS 1)THEY ARE A "NON PROFIT" 2) BECAUSE I BOOKED ON A TRAVEL SITE BUT OFFERED ME 20% OFF MY NEXT STAY WHICH WILL BE NEVER!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND WAS DEF NOT WORTH 185 A NIGHT.

Cons: I would describe the front desk service as functional rather then friendly. Little choice of food in the hotel apart from vending machine.

Cons: The bathroom was very dirty. Hairs from previous guests were everywhere. The comforters on the beds were stained. We were only given two bath towels and when we called for more we had to go down to the front desk to get them.

Cons: Needs to be updated. No attention to detail. Showerhead was broken off wall and they didn't care to fix it. They'd painted the room but painted around furniture and you could see lines. Had "do not disturb" on door but cleaning ladies came in anyway.

Cons: The room wasn't vacuumed very well and the outlets were all very old/pretty loose. The elevators were also very slow and pretty much taken-over by hotel staff in the morning.

Cons: Run down, rusted metal and shower rod coming out of wall, no breakfast, carpet needs replacing, housekeeping hit and miss, no mirror except bathroom, very noisy from other rooms, like an old dorm room

Cons: Room was very warm. Thermostat adjustments did not work to alleviate

Cons: The bathroom walls were rotting away. We realized that when we turned the fan off in the bathroom and came back after a day out to a wretched smell. Realized they left the fan on at all times to hide the odor of the bathroom.

Cons: I didn’t like it, the cleaning it wasn’t that good I don’t even know if my room was sanitized, a couple of sheets were dirty. No hot water for everyone. It is like a weird smell. You should have better staff and better cleaning protocols

Cons: Couldn't figure out how to make it colder at night. Loud vacuuming in the hall at 9 am even though I wasn't going to wake up until 10 (check out is at 11). If they're going to have a kitchen, they should include a few basics like plates and cutlery and maybe a pot and pan. Fridge was a little loud. Unhelpful directions to Tedeschi.

Cons: NO NO NO PARKING!!!! Plan to walk several blocks with your luggage. We were lucky enough to find a parallel spot on along the side of the Inn and after 6 PM we could park, but from 8 am til 6 PM the area is 2 hour parking only and police patrolled The parking is difficult to find without a map from the staff.

Cons: Room was dormitory-like. Not bad, but very basic.
