Staff upon pick up was very competent but not very friendly. The same for drop off. Upon pick up the truck had a dent that was not disclosed to me before pick up. I tried to contact Budget to report and didn't get anyone to answer the phone so I left a message. The interior smelled very strongly of smoke with a perfume odor to try to mask it, almost intolerable. Thankfully the weather was nice and I could roll down the windows. There was a half eaten banana and half drank bottle of water in the bed of the truck. The truck itself was comfortable and easy to drive.Reviewed 2023 Sep 18

Drop off was perfect and timely. Pickup was an hour wait, we had a nice trainee who was ignored by supervisor every time she tried to ask question. When I asked Supervisor the question the trainer was asking, she snapped and said she was Busy processing the customer who cut in line on front of us.Felt bad trainee, who was taking the heat.Reviewed 2023 Aug 05

The agent gave me a very old car with multiple dents, a cracked windshield and a non-working rear wiper. When I asked for a road suitable car they refused to change the car. Budget needs to better maintain vehicles and not give customers junkersReviewed 2023 Jun 10

Rate was less than half of what National would have charged me for a one-way rental. Car was not as nice, but I was more concerned with the rate for this trip. Budget customer service was excellent-- in and out very fast both pickup in Des Moines and drop off in STL.Reviewed 2023 Apr 06

Very long line unexpectedly, very slow and unhelpful staff, when I walked to the car with bad directions outdoors a little ways away, the car was dirty and had not been cleaned. I won't use Budget again. They really suck.Reviewed 2022 Jun 02

The vehicle had only ¾ of a tank of fuel when I picked it up. I paid for the full fuel service when I picked up the vehicle. Upon return the I had two employees lie to me. One said only a manager could refund the fuel charge and the manager would be in to the counter in an hour but never arrived and a second told me she would reimburse my credit card for the fuel charge but did not. I was also charged a $200 dollar deposit at the counter that was not disclosed anywhere when I made the reservation. I will never rent throughout Kayak or Budget again.Reviewed 2022 Feb 23

Easy pick up at the airport, counter personnel pleasant, car in pretty good shape only a few dings. However, when paying top rate for a rental we expected the car to have been cleaned inside and out. Obviously ours was not. We found empty fast food bags and and a plastic drink bottle under the seat. Also when we tried to use the windshield wiper there was no fluid to wash the window.Reviewed 2021 Nov 27
