Car was old, had dents and dings and scrapes, and the interior smelled of weed and cigarettes. Plus, I had to go to the nearby Hertz counter to get the car, as the Dollar Kiosk was closed. Wish Dollar had told me that instead of me having to figure that out by myself!

Drop off was quick and convenient at Santa Barbara airport. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.Rental car pickup was a long walk from the airport. When we got there, the Dollar booth was closed, and we had to go to another location.

Because of COVID I was unable to travel and Priceline would not work with me to move the date of pick up. I live in Los Angeles and we are in lockdown. These are unforeseen circumstances and you would think a large company like Priceline would concede and let me reschedule to a future date. They did not work with me. I lost $400 in this transaction and will never use them again.

Every time i pay for additional insurance for the car, I end up getting a car that has already several scratches. And when I risk just on my own insurance I get a better looking clean paint and detailed car. It makes me wonder if its on purpose, and if its worth taking the risk of my insurance deductible.

I legally changed my name this year and accidentally reserved under my old name. Even though I brought a passport in my former name, they would not accept it, and refused to change the reservation. They wanted me to call Priceless customer service and get back at the end of the 45 minute line I'd already waited in. This whole experience was ridiculous. I ended up having to rent a new car at a significantly higher rate, and still don't know if Priceline will pay me back.

I scheduled a pickup with this business at 6pm. They were not open at the time of my appointment. I called the first thing the next day and they said my car had been rented. I called their corporate. Customer service line. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The representative said the supervisor would call me back the next day. They never did call back.

The local Hertz office provided us a clean vehicle which was large enough for the 3 people in our party and their luggage. The office personnel were friendly, efficient and informative. The service and car were a good value. What could have been better is the office should have checked and provided more information about what to do if or when the Change Your Oil Soon error message appeared (which it did on the last two days of our road trip). The vehicle probably should have had its oil level checked as part of its pre-delivery checklist of actions.

1 hour wait at Burbank airport 2 people checking in 3 different car rentals from hertz booth. Nothing like flying for 6 hours to get. There and have to wait another hour for a rental car. Drop off location closed not notified even though my drop off time was know in advance. Had to drive 12 miles to airport. I called 800 number to be put on hold half an 30 minutes while I am being charged by the hour for a car I don’t know where to drop off. Will be using turo from now on.

The staff was very helpful and made the pickup and drop-off process easyMy rental was for a one-way, cross-country trip. While I was on the highway, one of the tires blew due to being incredibly worn and completely bald. One of the other tires was also completely bald, and I'm very luck it didn't blow as well. Hertz knew how far I was driving, but regardless, they should never have rented that car until the tires were checked and replaced.

Picking up the car to pay for it was awful. The person at the counter would not take my Debt Visa card. And I had to video tape the car before leaving because it had so many scratches and dents that were on the car. We had little time to do this. Then I got charged more then what it was suppose to be. Not happy!

The staff were very friendly they didn’t try to sell me insurance that I didn’t need. My mini van was fully loaded and clean. It was an excellent experience. I’d never heard of Fox before, and thought it might be like a poorly-operated budget company. But, quite the opposite. I’ll definitely be renting from them in the future!!

Wonderful experience! The representative was knowledgeable, personable, and kind.The distance from the airport terminal to the car rental was a long distance. Shuttle service would have been nice. My husband cannot walk far and even though there were escalator walkways; it was difficult for him.

Poor Customer ServiceI wanted to extend my rental. The credit card I had on file was lost, and discontinued. They would not take a new credit card over the phone. They said this was for my own protection, and prevents fraudulent car rentals. However the car has already been rented... I had already proven my identity when I picked it up. I was not renting a new car. Unless someone had stolen my car, credit card, and was conscientious enough to call Alamo to extend the rental... there is no reason to worry about fraud. Additionally other large companies take credit card information over the phone. To say it is not a secure method is lazy, and hinders Alamo from providing a better customer experience. The customer service rep agreed that the policy did not make sense in my case, but that she could do nothing about it, it was simply "the policy." To me, then, that is the definition of bad policy. I was forced to return to the airport, out of my way, to prove for the second time I am who I am. Just a terrible customer service experience. I will not be renting with Alamo or affiliated Alamo brands in the future.

I had to pay two times for the insurance. At the end, it cost me around $60 a day, where it should have cost me only $35 per day. Just make sure that they will not charge you twice for the insurance!!

Great customer service!When I made my car rental and flight reservations, I did not realize that they is a John Wayne and a Bob Hope airports, one in Burbank and other in Orange County. So I mixed both up! I landed in John Wayne airport to get my car rental and did not realize it was in Burbank, The gentleman at the desk so helpful and understanding, he tried his best to honor my car rental rate which was for Burbank and not Orange County. I was able to return the car at Burbank and Alamo honored the same rate without any additional fees. I NEVER, write comments/feedbacks, but I have so very blown away at the level of service I received from Alamo car rental I had to. Despite my oversight with the wrong locations, most everyone I spoke with and or interacted with was so helpful, friendly and professional. Please look into the names of this people, as they deserve recognition. Thank you!When I returned the car at Burbank Alamo, the female at the desk was so unfriendly and down right rude. She was so resistant to honor the rate/price, even after I explained to her that I had called Alamo and spoken with them. Finally she reluctantly adjusted and credited me back to my card, then handed me a new receipt and said "here". She did not ruin my awesome experience I had with Alamo, but she should definitely be looked into.

Troubles All Around* The car was clean and filled with gas.* Finding the car rental place at Burbank Airport if you are not coming in for a flight is near impossible! My husband and I went around twice before we found out that there was no parking for non-rental cars and he had to drop me off at the Alamo rental place and then leave. The signs (or lack of them) made getting to my rental place on time stressful and we ended up being 15 minutes late. *Once we got onto the freeway, the car started making the high pitch sound from the window at 70 mph. We were going the speed of traffic to Chico on the 5 freeway and this loud high pitch sound made me want to turn on the radio and set it to high to drown out the sound. There must be a seal broken or something on the window but what puzzled me is that the car was relatively new with only 13, 500 miles. Need less to say, the 7 hours there and back to Chico was a very noisy annoying drive. * When we were on the streets of Chico, the car made a ratting sound. It sounded like it was on the dashboard and the rattling continue for the whole trip when the car was driven at low speeds (20 - 40 mph).

Very friendly staffI ordered a Cadillac or similar and was offered a Volvo SUV which is not my style. I ordered a luxury car. I was then offered a compact sports sedan, which ended up being a BMW 3 series. It was nice but I am a big person and do not like SUVs and order luxury cars for the very large size and extra room. The BMW 3 series is a very nice car but much smaller inside than the Cadillac or Lincoln I'm usually ordering. I did not receive the car class size I ordered. I was not unhappy but the experience was not great either.

Friendly staff when we finally arrived to correct Enterprise location. It did save us money, but was a hassle we weren't prepared for.When I called Enterprise to confirm the car reservation, I asked about pickup, since this was not the airport location. I was told it was 3.6 miles from airport and there would be a free shuttle to pick us up. Turned out to NOT be true, and almost 8 mile Lyft ride to get there.

Above and beyondThe staff was extremely accommodating. They were very helpful even though our flight was delayed and we arrived after the office had closed. They still provided us with the hard to find van when we arrived a day late, they honored our original reservation price and provided an uber to get back to the airport upon return. Very courteous and helpful staff and management.

TERRIBLE SERVICETerrible customer service and rates. They were out of economy cars so they gave us a suv but charged us for the suv at a rate of 90/day! My reservation was for 10/day. They wouldnt match better prices even when I showed them my reservation on my phone or showed them better deals via expedia and kayak. Never again.

Car had 34,000 miles and was filthynot muchWe spent almost an hour waiting to receive our car, which had 34,000 miles on it and stains all over the interior, as well as dents all over exterior. Never seen a rental car in such poor shape, and would definitely not rent a car from this location again.

Absolutely horrific experience & zero help from Avis customer service. Will never use Kayak or Avis again. We arrived at the pick up location (we had a prior reservation) to find they were closed. The door clearly stated 2pm closing, we were there at 1:20pm. No phone # to directly get in touch with this location. We were left stranded on the street with a family of 4, 4 suitcases & no car. I can’t even begin to explain how terrible this service was. Not one Avis employee has shown any empathy towards this situation. This was a grade F experience.

BUR desk was understaffed. FAT staff was, well, lazy. At drop-off an Avis guy Ian paid to stand there and tell you you have to record your own mileage and fuel and walk in to the terminal to check out and get a receipt. The lady at the desk seemed put out that I already had the mileage and fuel so she couldn’t send me back to get it. Not a good look.

Staff at pickup were really helpful. Drop off employee was abrupt and very unfriendly.Car windows on inside were dirty and some trash from previous rental was still in the car. Disappointing. Also cost to drop off at different location was very steep. Dissapointed.

We thought we had rented at the airport but it was actually at a nearby rental center. Avis airport personnel were not helpful and pushed a hard sell for products we didn't need. When we arrived (by taxi) at the correct spot, the man behind the counter was extremely helpful and pleasant. He checked us in and got us on our way quickly.

Total disappointment. We arrived on time for our rental car and were told we would have to settle for an SUV rather than the convertible we reserved. The company says that you are guaranteed a similar style vehicle if yours is not available. The only similarity between and SUV and a convertible are four wheels. Customer service was abysmal as well. Apathetic attitude, had no interest in helping us. We took our business elsewhere. Reservations mean nothing to Budget rental of Burbank.

Pick up was easyThe car was dirty. ( insides were covered in dust and had a horrible musty smell) I needed to extend the length of the rental, but the automated phone line kept hanging up or disconnecting. I called the local office and they tried to charge me a completely different amount. I went to the office to show my receipt and he looked it up and said it was a computer malfunction. I then had to wait nearly 40 minutes to get my car. I will consider looking for other rental companies next time.

I did not like looking for a car that wasn't there in the pouring rain three seperate times because they didn't assign me a car that was on the lot. I didn't like people who walked away and did not help, unless helping means confirming that a Kia is not a Chevy and a Jaguar in not a Hyundai. Thanks to the man who just got me a car and changed my reservation.

On pickup, nearly every car was gone and there was only a single person working the booth for Thrifty and Dollar. He was doing a great job but it was taking about 10 mins per person, so took about an hour waiting in line. On the plus side, when I dropped off the car I accidentally left something in the passenger seat. The person manning the dropoff went back multiple times and searched thoroughly and found everything I had left. He was careful, thoughtful and great!

My main complaint is with the billing process. It was written in my confirmation that "Thrify charged the total cost of this reservation ($85.25) to your credit card today." However, when I picked up the car I was charged an additional $21.17 in miscellaneous services charges and taxes. I have rented cars and purchased flights through Kayak for many years and have never before experienced this "bait and switch" technique. I don't know if this scam was the fault of Kayak, Thrifty or CarRentals.com but suffice to say, I won't be using any of these companies again. If I can't trust you to quote me a fair price, then we can't do business with each other.

Very easy quick pickup with very minimal discussion of insurance and not much paperwork.Car seemed to be having a minor mechanical problem- it shuddered a bit. Had 33,000 miles on it. It didn't cause any problems for me though.
