Make sure to obtain a Copy from the Insurance provider as to the Coverage of the Rental Car. Because, on site when picking up the Car they will force Customers to purchase their own Insurance policy which is absolutely and ridiculously over priced.

In the Mississauga/Toronto area, the roads are generally very well maintained. It is a very urban area with several million people. In some of the city park areas, parking may be difficult to find as a nearby or neighborhoods are restricted. The drivers in this area are generally pretty good. Taking to the highways outside of the metropolitan area might show that large commercial trucks are allowed to drive down the left (fast) lane (or at least, if they are not allowed, they do that anyway).

If you are not used to driving in Toronto or the big city, it is very stressful and you have to be extremely attentive of all other drivers around you. Be prepared to provide insurance proof, delay in pickup time May happen because of busy days and hours, if you are getting down at airport pickup and drop is provided by most car rental agencies as their offices are outside the airport. For Toronto person passengers both T1 and T3 , take the sky train to viscount and car rental agencies wil provide a ride.

You need a GPS, the jumbled overpass superhighway will confuse you and spit you out miles away from where you want to go if you mess up. Drivers are aggressive so buy your insurance in advance at your home town insurance company beforehand, they offer better coverage for using vehicles that arent yours than the purchased insurance packages from rental companies, also cheaper too!!

Lovely counter service but I had ordered an economy car for the amount I was driving. They didn’t have any in stock and the next smallest car was an Audi SUV that takes premium gas. If I wanted an upgrade, I would have ordered one. Also didn’t appreciate the car letting me know I was past-due for service when I only had a two day rental period.

Never got to get a car as was told they had none. Still were advertising that they had some on rental sites however. Communication between departments needs to be better for customers coming in on late flights as the agency I was supposed to rent from never got the message I left on the phone number that was on the web telling them my flight was 5 hours late.

The experience at ACE Rent a car, Mississauga was extremely disappointing. Despite booking a car for a week, the receptionist was rude and unprofessional. Even after providing proof of insurance coverage, he refused to release the rental car and insisted on receiving personal information via email. This lack of customer service and trustworthiness makes ACE Rental the worst choice for car rentals. I strongly advise against renting from them and will not be recommending their services to anyone.

I was told I would get 25km free when I rented this vehicle and it’s been a struggle to get that. Routes charged for for the full km without giving me the 25 free and now trying to get that back has been very annoying. Would not recommend going here go elsewhere and save you a headache.

A whole busload of ppl arrived on their shuttle together late in the evening from flights across Canada. Many flights were from 1 to 3 hours late. I watched them tell one after another that they have no reservation, it was cancelled because they arrived late. Some were so upset they were in tears. My reservation was good still being only 1 hour late. They are not at the airport so the travellers denied cars are now stranded outside the airport. Poor customer service. Many customers called the reservation line to inform them about their flight delays. There was no communication to the people working that night. No sympathy, and no attempt to help them. Just a sorry....next.

I was required to take $12 day insurance on top of my credit card insurance because I was unable to provide proof I had personal umbrella insurance. I have never encountered this and believe it was super shady and I felt bullied by staff there. It was after hours and providing proof was impossible, they knew they could squeeze their customers and they did. I was super annoyed, along with other people in line at pick up but my booking was prepaid so what was I supposed to do. They wouldn’t even let me provide proof the next morning. Will never rent with them again, their fees are hidden and shady AF.

They have hidden fees (they charge $11.95 a day mandatory insurance and rely on fine print in their contract, when the contract clearly says the price includes all mandatory fees). Then on return they appear to be trying to charge me for damage that was already there.(I actually talked with staff before I left about that exact paint chip they are now appearing to blame on me)

Not all fees were included in the price. There was a premium location fee and an extra fee for a different location. When we picked up the employee was very kind and helped us as best as she could. There was also no clear break down of our receipt and what we paid for. Overall, the experience was okay. We are just disappointed with the surprise of an extra $100 added to the bill that we were not expecting.

I had an issue with the class of vehicle I was given. I returned it and they gave me the proper one and returned the difference in the money I had paid. The counter people were awesome. The people In the parking lot accepting returns and inspecting on the way out needed some finesse in their customer service.

The place where I pick up the van was like a zoo, the guy that took me to the car didn’t want to check the van for damage and I ask him to and he says every was ok at the exit they will do it. I left to the next guy and told him they are some indentation on the van and he says that everything was fine and I was never provide with a inspection slip. The van was filthy and with garbage from the previous person. Was never wash or clean after the last use. Had no choice but to take the van as I need it to travel for 3 hours . Price was insane for the value and the kind of van.

There are tons of hidden fees involved so the price advertised is not right - from premium location surcharge of $40 to all sorts of other hidden fees - I booked my car for $54 and ended up paying $289. The location is also not very easy to find.

Firstly, there was no phone number for NextCar at the airport to get shuttle. I eventually, after 3 or 4 calls, went outside and hoped I could get a number from one of the other companies drivers. Luckily, a NextCar shuttle showed up by chance. I was very frustrated. Then, at the rental desk I had issues with insurance for the car. That will be the last time I rent through NextCar or Rconomy.

Poor customer service. Had to call 3 times for shuttle from airport. When it arrived it was very run down and tired looking van. Interior dirty and seats wear not fassened down to floor properly. Once at office. Was sent to sit down and wait without staff willing to look at my reservation. After approaching 3 different staff ... finally found out they didn't have a car for my reservation and offered to refund any deposit if there was one. Several people in waiting room said they'd been waiting over an hour for their car. Reservation was booked on May 18th for a September 30th pickup. Very unorganized and unprofessional setup. Go to city car and truck rental instead!

- Pick up was confusing. I used the phone indicated to call the shuttle but it kept going to a voicemail that did not allow for connection with a person to let htem know that we were waiting. We spent about 20 minutes trying to sort out a way to contact them. -Car had 3/8 tank of gas, and we were expected to bring back with the same- which is quite difficult to target, and should be a full tank as per usual practices at other rental companies. -booking did not indicate that insurance was not included, so the price was ultimately double when I had to add basic insurance on arrival to the rental company.

They overbooked their cars which lead to them saying there was no car available for us. If I didnt put up a fuss they would not have figured something out. They called a different rental company a few minutes drive away, however it ended up limiting our daily usage from unlimited to only 200km/day. There was also no shuttle on the return date and this other place was a 2 hour walk or 45 minute transit away from the airport

I was not able to speak with an agent during business hours to change my pickup time due to a delayed flight. Because I wasn’t able to have the car held, I had to pay walk up prices elsewhere and have absorbed that cost, being much more than budgeted for my travels. Hadn’t realized that Fox is now part of Economy: “unlimited mileage” doesn’t really mean unlimited. It’s a 3k cap. Other challenges: -Mandatory 3rd party insurance, -Difficulty reaching front desk staff as all calls are routed to a call centre person / gatekeeper -My car rental had mechanical issues and I had to delay my trip by one day to get a replacement, however there was little accommodation made due to that and no extension of the rental due to the inconvenience: I had to hassle and argue my way to a $40 discount I eventually pulled out of them due to the inconvenience. -Possibly good for a short 1-3day rental if you’re desperate but I wouldn’t use them for anything else/ longer.

Overall quite good. During the drop off the car was inspected and we were given a verbal, “you are good to go.” The email I shortly received could have been more clear. There was quite a hold on our credit card and it would have been nice to have confirmation the hold will be released. Respectfully we treated the car like it was our own. Parking where there was plenty of room as to not have anyone near the car damage it with a door or anything else. Shuttle was good. It picks you up and drops you off at the same spot. Wait times were what one should expect. Our wait time when we arrived was decent but when dropping off the lines were full. Since we never had to enter the building at drop off, this is a simple visual observation. My advice would be not to be in a hurry when picking up. One issue while renting the car online was insurance. I believed insurance was one of the options while booking. In our case, it wasn’t. Insurance costs through Fox were $30-40, each with a different deductible. I was able to contact my insurance dealer in Winnipeg and purchase insurance for a total of $45 for 5 days. Much more affordable along with a much less deductible. If this is important for you, arrange it before you leave.

To be honest, I think Kayak needs to do a much better job of vetting the agencies they choose to work with. 1. We arrived at 8:45am, which was 15 minutes early. There was a complete disregard for others people’s time, with a back up of 4 other families, all of which had been waiting. We did not get on the road before 10:45am - 1.5 hours after the appointment time, eating into our ability to start our trip. 2. Green Motion attempted to convince us that we did not have insurance on the vehicle, and tried yo charge us $141.00 for five days worth of additional coverage - I pulled up the Kayak email with the insurance certificate to prove their was existing insurance - the man smiled, giggled as though it was a joke and refunded the cost 3. Kayak states that the rental had unlimited kilometres - Green Motion claimed that they only provide up to 1000km for Ontario residents AND and there are restrictions and fees for crossing both provincial and international borders. Anything over 1000km would afford additional costs 4. Kayak promised a Toyota Yaris or “similar” make and model. We ended up with a small, Mitsubishi with zero trunk space and barley enough room to fit our party size. The car was over 7 years old, had more than 145,000km on it, was over by 1,000km for its oil change, had its tool light on and was in need of servicing, needed its wipers replaced, had zero wiper fluid, and a major crack in the front fender. 5. Green Motion states that the car needed a full tank of gas (not half tank which is the standard) - quite the expectation given the lemon the rented us. 6. Green motion claimed that pine needles on the inside floor interior from camping, that I’m all honesty, required light vacuuming at best, was cause for stating that the car was brought back “excessively dirty”, and charged us an additional $100 as a result. The car had zero stains. Zero damage by us. Was brought back in need of a light vacuuming but we put them more to do their job!!! I watched people getting upset both at pick up and drop off. I was so upset by the end that it did not bother to even challenge them. I just wanted out of there as fast as possible. I think this company is exploitative. I believe it to be misrepresenting itself, is renting vehicles that require significant repair and safety assessments and should not be allowed to continue operations.
