We have used Alamo many times when we come to Myrtle Beach and Florida.Cons: Everything was perfect and had a very enjoyable car that was assigned to us. We needed a vehicle to accommodate my golf clubs and luggage which it did. Thank you.

Pros: The car broke down and was towed, customer service made me get my own Uber, then when I got there the manager looked like he had no idea why I was there and he took forever to get me my new car, also told me they should have switched a car for me(a lot of good that was since I already came there because the customer service lady told me to). There was no way to reach the airport branch directly, that is wrong!!!!!!!!!Cons: If something happens to the car, good luck, terrible customer service.

Pros: The car was in good condition except for the cigarette smell from the previous renters.Cons: Difficulty accessing anyone by phone; hard to find contact information and difficulty actually getting someone to speak with on the phone, but once I was able to, I was satisfied.

Pros: Car was clean and ran well. Easy check out and check in. Rental is directly across from baggage across a small walkway. We got our luggage, rolled it across the walkway, and were quickly on our way!

Pros: Staff person at pickup was pleasant and polite, although the wait was fairly long(45 minutes).Cons: The car was dirty, including the interior seats. Waits upon pickup and return were unreasonably long. For the money they are making per car and the number of cars they are renting, they are understaffed by about 3 car cleaners and jockeys. I’ve rented hundreds of cars in the past 20 years and have never had to take a car to the car wash after picking it up. Would never go back to that rental shop again! Also, the manager should come and help out, instead of sneaking by to hide in the back room

Pros: My wife mentioned when we got in the car he wasn't too friendly. The car need a car wash . The lady I called said I could drop it off at the airport with no extra charge. Good thing your employee mentioned it was $450 extra to drop it off there . I would have been one extremely PO customer if I did .

Pros: The staff called to say that my reservation was canceled the day I arrived. Hertz had no cars available! which meant my vacation was ruined! Because I needed a car for the scheduled outings!Cons: If I had received what I paid for in advance and if your COMPANY HAD TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY OTHER THAN TO SAY ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM ! Pros: Terrible! We went to check in and was told no car was available even though I booked and paid for it 2 months prior in February. But if I wanted to pay an extra $100 a day on top of the $200 I already paid (for 4 days), a car would be available! It was an awful way to begin our 1st visit to our grandchildren in over a year!Cons: I was told that someone called and left a phone message the day before - which I never saw. And, it was less than 24 hours before my flight landed. I understand there is a shortage of cars due to covid; however, a little more effort on Hertz's part to let me know - another phone call or email? - would've been helpful. Then, when I got home I spent almost 1 1/2 hours on the phone with your customer service to get a refund. Luckily, we were able to get a car from Avis - they will get my business from now on,

Pros: Absolutely horrible!Cons: They called me and told me that they didn't have a car for me! Why have a confirmed reservation only to be told they don't have a car! Also extremely poor communications and absolutely no follow up! Called Hertz customer service and they were the same! Said very sorry and never had their supervisor call me back!

Pros: Nothing. I made a reservation a month in advance. A few days before my trip, Hertz phoned to say they had no car for me.Cons: I could have gotten the car I reserved. I ended up finding a U Haul moving van. It was a bad experience in every way. I thought I was in a Seinfeld episode. They took the reservation, but did not keep the reservation!

Cons: You gave us an F-150. It was the biggest car we’ve ever driven, so it was hard for us to park and maneuver it. We had to be extremely careful so to not ding it as we parked it. It required us to back up and retry everytime we needed to park or make a tight turn.

Pros: Car was comfortable. Drop off was easy but we had problems getting the car because our flight was late and they told us that there were no cars available. Eventually they found replacement but we were close to cancelling our reservation.Cons: They should not base car availability on arrival time. Flights are late or rescheduled. We came only two hours late and were told that they did not have a car for us because of this.

Pros: Honestly didnt like anything about our experience from the car to the staff. Overall unprofessional. My spouse and I rented a vehicle in early June to travel from SC to NJ and back. A couple of hours into our trip a huge roach, the kind that fly was crawling on my foot. I freaked out and this could of potentially been dangerous, good thing I wasn't driving. That made us worry about our luggage in the trunk as we didnt want roaches infesting our belongings. On our way up to New Jersey there was no way for us to pay cash for our tolls due to covid and we were forced to go through the EZ Pass. We immediately call Thrifty to notify them and were told we'd have to pay the tolls online for every state we went through a toll. When we tried to pay online through the state,we didnt have an invoice number that was require to pay the toll. That we needed from thrifty. We called thrifty again only to have our account noted. Now several months later we're being charged $90.00 in toll and penalty. When I called again to speak to the Manager Jessica I was given an attitude over the phone and was told that it was my responsibility to pay the tolls despite our multiple attempts to make the payment, which now include a penalty fee. I was also hung up on and when I called back and asked to speak to the Manager Jessica again I was sidelined. I travel to NJ once a month for work, we rent vehicles and fly often. This by far has been my worst experience ever dealing with any kind of customer service agents.Cons: Dealing with a competent manager.

Pros: Drop-off was super easy, car was great, great priceCons: Wanted to extend my rental but could not get in contact with the right people to extend it. Spoke with someone who took my information and said that the enterprise where my drop-off was scheduled would contact me about extending. She said they would email me but I never heard from them so I just dropped the car off without extending my rental. Was very hard to speak to an actual person about the car instead of just an automated message.

Pros: The check in at Myrtle Beach was quick and efficient, Doug was excellent and the car was in great condition. Unfortunately the hurricane interrupted our vacation but the ability to change return locations without additional charge made it possible for my family to get home safely. Thank you to Doug.Cons: The staff in Cleveland were unable to help me with the issues on the final amount due, but Doug from Myrtle Beach called and resolved the issue in a matter of minutes as well as sending a confirmation email within minutes! Definitely the perfect employee.

Cons: Flight was delayed. Called to inform Avis I will be later than planned. Told the location would be closed and they would cancel my reservation. If I wanted a car, I could reserve the same car for a shorter time but they had to double the price. Terrible customer service and never picked up a car. Using Uber/Lyft was cheaper than the original price in the end.

Then we waited outside for 30 minutes for the car that we had reserved well in advance to be cleaned. The car was not clean inside or outside. Great friendly staff at Myrtle Beach AirportPros: Drop off in Myrtle Beach was much better than pickup (Orlando); Employees at Myrtle Beach airport were very nice, friendly and professional; overall, the return process was excellent.Cons: It is a small airport so smaller operations; Indications for returns are clearly indicated to get there but once on parking lot, they have only 2 parking spots dedicated to returns, took me a few minutes to actually find the correct spots and employees in charge

Car Rental ExperiencePros: I liked the price. The car met our needs. I was glad we were able to drop the car off at Avis Rental Myrtle Beach International Airport., though this was only for the fact that our flight left at 11:00 a.m. and the Sears/Avis did not open till 10:00 a.m., which would not have given us enough time to make our flight. I did like the fact that it was a very fuel efficient car.Cons: I did not like that I was not informed that the car was not available for pickup at the Myrtle Beach International Airport, SC, and that we had to take a cab to the Sears Auto Store/Avis Rental to pick up our rental vehicle. I didn't like the fact that a shuttle service was not provided for picking up our car from Sears in Myrtle Beach, SC, and we had to pay $12.50 cab fare plus a tip for the short ride there. I did not like the fact that even though the car was a No Smoking vehicle, the car smelled like someone had smoked in it.

Pros: The manager was friendlyCons: Apparently, you need a really good credit score to rent from them. Starting with the check out lady, who refused to rent to me since I didn’t have a credit card, and I asked for her manager- after, he came out and said I could totally rent with just my debit card since I had a return flight, which the woman didn’t even bother asking- she just flat out refused to rent to me. Everything was fine until they ran a credit check or something and said my Equifax score was too low to rent from them. If that is their policy, that’s fine, but I wish I had known or it had been posted somewhere. I ended up going to another rental company and rented from them no issue of debit card or rental score. As soon as I told the clerk at the company I went with that I only had a debit card, the first thing he asked was “do you have a return flight?”...instead of flat-out refusing to rent to me like the first one. Not a great experience. Again, I understand their policy, but some advanced warning would have been nice so that I could have made other arrangements. I know my credit score and wouldn’t have even wasted my time with Budget had I known this.

Pros: The registration people were nice, but they had a new computer system and it took about 45 minutes to get our documents.Cons: They didn't have the vehicle I had requested and upgraded me to a truck, which was enormous to park and had no place to lock our luggage. Great rental, poor servicePros: Rental itself was great, clean, ran great. Great rental.Cons: On pick-up, they said I had booked the wrong location even though my reservation was for the correct location, which I showed them. The person ahead of me in line had the same problem. Also, when I dropped off the rental they tried to charge a weekly rate even though I had spoken with the agent at pick up about converting it back over to a daily rate after the rental was up (which was reflected in my contract). Although a manager corrected the problem after I showed her proof, the initial agent was incompetent and did not know what he was doing. The manager had to show him twice. Also, the parking attendant was rude at drop off until he realized that I was correct. Would probably not use national through kayak again- too much of a hassle when you are traveling!

Sent to the WRONG AirportPros: I like that I got a free upgrade and a reduced rate from the woman working the desk at Myrtle Beach International Airport. I presented her with my paperwork and the airport was the WRONG airport in Myrtle Beach (the private airport - Not MYR which is the airport code for the International Airport). The whole booking had to be cancelled, the insurance had to be cancelled and everything had to be rebooked.Cons: That the airport code for Myrtle Beach (MYR) is the incorrect booking code to get a car rental! Who came up with that idea?!
