The staff in Seattle (pick up location) didn’t honor the reservation. We book a bmw suv, but he was going to give me a 4 doors sedan, a much smaller car. His excuse was that they didn’t have the suv I booked. He said I either get a smaller car or he would cancel my reservation. I asked him if I could talk to his manager but he was rude and waked away. He walked back 5 minutes later and said he checked but there was still no suv. He sternly said if I didn’t like the smaller car, he would cancel my reservation and stated I had no other options. I once again said if he didn’t give me the suv I booked I would report him to kayak since he wouldn’t let me talk to his manager. He then realized I wouldn’t give in so he finally gave me the suv I booked. His excuse was that the car wasn’t available earlier. However, he also gave me the option earlier if I wanted the suv, I would have to pay more. The car was obviously there the entire time but he didn’t want to honor my reservation. It was the worse experience I ever had with a rental car company. I couldn’t pick up the car until 45 minutes later than my reservation

My pick up was made for Sea Tac but when I got there with 2 children and 6 bags, I was told that my reservation was for downtown Seattle, and I would have to take the train, that was not an option, the young lady at the counter took her time to help me and got the reservation transferred to sea tac, was so very grateful. Thank you

The downtown location was horrible. The guy working the counter was great. But they made me walk up the ramp to the 4th floor, walk through a bunch of cars that were parked in the driveway that were very close to each other. Then my car was so tight to the next car I don't know how I even squeezed my body into it. Hurt my back doing so. My paperwork said the car was full but it was 2/3 tank Then I had to drive the wrong way down the ramp to leave the garage. Drop off was very confusing once I got to where they were in the garage. They just had you leave the keys on dash and walk away.

Drop-off was easy and the car was functional.

Cons:

Neither the car’s interior or exterior had been cleaned. There was trash in the cup holders and the interior surfaces clearly hadn’t even been wiped down. The exterior hadn’t been washed. The car was missing all four tire nozzle caps.

Supplier choice

Their team were understaffed, under supplied and crabby at pickup. There was a noticeable deficit of “normal” cars, and they were often trying to convince people who had booked economy to take a mini van. On return I needed to adjust by 30 minutes to accommodate flex in a travel schedule, and their phone staff were dismissive and rude. They charged me a silly fee, despite the fact that when I arrived, the location was CLOSED, so it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. I will NOT be using Hertz again.

I don’t like that hertz said they would rent a car to me with a pick up time of 12:00pm even though they close at 12:00pm on Saturdays and refuse to service anyone who comes after noon. YES, I was a few minutes late to pick up my car that I reserved for pickup up at 12pm but WHY would they even let me pick a check in time that was the same as when they stop working??? Why not set the latest pick up time 30 minutes before closing????? Why hertz??? 🙁

The woman who received the car at the end was so wonderful and cheerful. I don't know if Enterprise can figure out who that was, but if so, I wanted to give my compliments.

Pros:

The staff were nice, Jeep was new and very nice. Drop off was easy.

Cons:

Enterprise sent us to a closed location for pick-up. We had to take a second Lyft to get to the consolidated location. When we picked up the SUV the gas tank was nearly empty.

We had a reservation for a full size SUV 10 day rental from Seattle to Portland for approx. $1500. Upon arrival, we received a phone message that they did not have this SUV available and when we tried to reach them they were closed. They closed at noon and were also closed the next day. No ride. We called the 1-800 number and were told that another Seattle location would honor our reservation. At the airport Enterprise the line was a 3 hour wait. No kidding. A manager tried to help us and told us to return in the evening and he would have a SUV available. We Ubered ($) to our hotel and back in the evening. Another manager was working and said - no deal. We will have to charge you $2500 for the SUV. Very disappointing Enterprise! You are definitely taking advantage of the car shortage, but your customers will remember their treatment and not be using you in the future.
