I typed in STL and they sent me very far away from the airport. The Hertz desk at the airport did absolutely nothing to help me. They said that I had to go online and call Hertz. It cost $45 each way in an Uber. The electric car charged at 25 mph. It was the worst car renting experience of my life.Reviewed 2023 Jul 15

In Kayak, I said I wanted to pick up at the airport then booked. I didn't realize that the rental pick up was 30 minutes away! We had to take a Lyft there and when we got there they said they only had one fully electric car available. We were forced to take this car (especially since we had already spent so much money on a lift). We were told it would full charge in 45 minutes which was not true AT ALL. We ended up spending a huge amount of our vacation time trying to find chargers and figure out to squeeze charging time in around the other things we already had scheduled. I didn't realize when I booked this appointment that my car would be at a Hertz office 15 miles away from the St. Louis airport. I took an airport shuttle to the Hertz office at Lambert Airport, only to Iearn my car wasn't at the airport Hertz. When I attempted to change the reservation, I learned there were no cars available at the airport location, I ended up with a $50 Uber charge in both directions, so this ended up being an incredibly expensive experience for my low-cost rental. The car itself was great, the staff at the location very helpful. Also, when I returned the car the office was closed (Sunday), so I was taking a leap of faith that there weren't going to any issues with the rental return. Fortunately, I received an email of the bill on Monday, so everything was fine. This is probably the first and last time I'll use Kayak.Reviewed 2023 Jun 05

I had a problem with my pick up location. The young woman at the office was unable to help me. She said she was new and did not know the area. I asked her to have the manager call me. I never heard from him.Reviewed 2023 May 30

This location was a full half hour away from the airport which was not clear to me at booking, and they only had electric vehicles left which was an unwanted hassle.Reviewed 2023 May 30

Easy process. Only issue we had was when we were trying to move our pick up time to earlier the person I spoke with told us he couldn't because Hertz is not open on Sunday and we would have to drop the car off on Monday. We've rented from this location and dropped off before so we just cancelled online and rebooked there as well. Not sure what that person was looking at, but had no issues dropping off yesterday.Reviewed 2023 May 22

When we Google searched for Hertz car rental, we specifically put in “STL airport” and never realized we were redirected to another location in STL a half hour away! After taking the airport shuttle to the airport location, we had to Uber ($32 the day we arrived and another $42 to return the rental and get ourselves back to the airport) to the other location - Green Park. Upon arrival there we were told the Tesla we preordered and prepaid for was not available, but we could have the half cleaned Nissan Sentra. We got in and the interior was still wet- eww! Throughout our trip, we continued to receive email tutorials on how to drive our Tesla rental, as if to rub salt in the would that you BAIT AND SWITCHED us with the rental! The pickup location was wrong. It was not at the airport. Had to take a Lyft to get the car and pay to drop off at a different location (Lambert airport). Staff at both places very harried and insisted I made the booking wrong.Reviewed 2023 Apr 10
