Cons: The bad. They don't use keycards for the elevator or door. As mentioned, there are some sketchy characters outside, and there's lots of people coming inside for the pool parties at night. Anyone could just take the elevator upstairs and potentially kick a door down. Locks seemed kinda weak. No safe in the room, but they have 'em downstairs. Late checkout was 12.30pm and that's pretty BS. Stayed on the 8th floor so sound wasn't a problem, but if you're a light sleeper, don't stay on the lower floors. If you're looking for a sterile place to stay with grandma and the kids, this is not it -- better go with a chain like Hilton or Ritz. But if grandma used to be a hippie and you're fairly open, it's great.

Cons: The parking was horrible!

Cons: The cleaning staff needs to be retrained. The basics were not taken care of in my room eg shampoo, conditioner, floor mat etc... were not replenished when needed/ garbage pails were not emptied.

Cons: Nothing I did not like anything about it. Room was terrable.

Cons: Their is no coffee maker in the room and that little luxury would have been really nice since we were never able to use the breakfast during the time they provided. Their was no book talking about nearby restaurants and features of the hotel in the room by the phone, so that was odd. The parking lot was tiny and the spaces were extremely close and we were in a small sports car, so had to pay to park next door $30 one night and $24 the second. The bathroom in the room was tiny and very outdated, the shower curtain had a hole in it and was yellowed from wear. The main thing that I thought was gross was their was several black foreign hairs on the ceiling of the bathroom. I didn't want to call and make a complaint, and I saw the maid was a few doors down before we left so I left her a note with a tip on the bed that said "The room looks great, but their is a few foreign hairs on the ceiling of the bathroom, could you please take care of that? Thank you..." When we returned the note and tip were gone but the hairs on the ceiling remained. I thought it was rude to take a tip and not clean up the hairs on the ceiling. The bathroom was tiny. It wouldn't take long to see them if you looked up. That was my biggest turn off, but maybe the maid couldn't read english?

Cons: The bathroom was small, felt old, and was dingy. There was a roll of toilet paper by the sink like it was meant to be a hand towel. The floors are concrete and feel unkempt because of their coldness. The decor is also themed but feels cold and dingy, the rugs on the walls were half hung. The worst was the A/C in the window and being hot all night. We ended up running to the ACE to salvage our vacation.

Cons: The room smelled like mildew and dust. The bed was horribly pitted from years of bodies on each side. The sheets and pillows smelled like they were stuffed damp into a closet for the day then dried and put on the bed. The carpet was red at one point. Its brown and very dingy now. I wouldn't walk around without socks.

Cons: For $256/night, my room badly needed an update. There were only 2 power outlets - One shared between the TV and the AC and the other was inaccessible behind the bed. This just doesn't cut it in today's day and age, esp for a hotel that at least partially caters to the convention crowd. In addition, the bathroom was tiny and the shower was so narrow that I had to bathe sideways (2.5 feet, I measured.) Plus, there was nowhere in the shower to put items aside from the floor, no soap tray, nothing. I won't be staying here again. I knew it wasn't going to be the Ritz, but this was a tad too far into the 60s for me.

Cons: The only parking was valet and the pool closed early on weekdays. Bathroom could definitely stand to be updated but was incredibly clean.

Cons: The pool area was a little confusing. It was hard to tell which chairs were taken. The chairs by the shallow end of the pool were occupied by people who didnt seem to want to get wet which was frustrating. The hotel room felt like a store. Too many items for sale. This also took up precious space for personal items.

Cons: A dresser for clothes in the room would have been nice. There were hangers but no space to put other items from suitcase.

Cons: The service was horrible! The bartenders and waitstaff in 3 different venues within the hotel were awful! Rude, not attentive at all, for a place that automatically adds 18% gratuity on top of the additional tip, shame on them for having bad staff at such a iconic and beautiful hotel. This literally ruined the ambience and enjoyment of my stay.

Cons: Very hard to sleep in when staying by the pool. Lots of noise every morning from both the hallway and the pool. Hallways smell like weed. Even though we knew we had to pay for parking, $36 a night is a bit extreme

Cons: - The first room I stayed in was small, had a view of nothing but the rooftop A/C units, and had incredibly noisy ventilation system. The very polite front desk staff moved me to a different (and much nicer) room upon request - $10 bottles of water in the room. Come on guys, a complimentary bottle of water won't kill the margins. - 'Hotel-branded' flip flops for sale at $20 instead of the inexpensive complimentary slippers that are normally available at hotels of this level

Cons: The lift was close by and was a little noisy early hours of the morning.

Cons: Very noisy. Construction workers moving around right outside our door. And temporary access entrance door was open all the time, so it felt a little unsafe.

Cons: It's not a place to hang out, no room service or plush amneties. WiFi was stupid slow, couldn't even use it. Also, they slapped us with a $22/night parking fee that wasn't mentioned anywhere during the booking process so that kinda sucked.

Cons: I stay here every time I'm in LA .. The room I had this time wasnt as new/renovated like the other rooms I've stayed in previously. I was a little disappointed but still enjoyed my stay non the less and will definitely return.

Cons: They are doing full on construction & demo while still renting rooms. Loud demo started at 7am & continued throughout the day. All day! Super noisey I'm surprised they are allowed to book rooms! Awful the manager gave us a discount

Cons: $28/day parking fees! This was not mentioned at time of booking. Reserved two rooms with two double beds in each, as our party consisted of two families of four. Was given two rooms with 1 king bed in each. Staff was rude and seemed annoyed that the reservations were booked via 3rd party. Rooms were on the small side and out dated. Very small pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet is $24 for those interested.

Cons: There was no late night snack bar.

Cons: Terrible pickup service at the airport. We waited a half hour for the shuttle, and finally I had to call the hotel to request a pickup. The other hotel shuttles passed by every 10-15 minutes.

Cons: I didn't enjoy that I had to pay for parking when I'm already staying at the hotel and paying for the room it's bullshit my bank account is now over drafted 100 dollars because of this

Cons: We had to move into a 2nd room because the air conditioner wasn't working in the 1st. There was a $9.95 charge for the WIFI connection. The continental breakfast charge was too much ($19.00).

Cons: If you want to use wi-fi you need to pay about daily passing. I didn't feel uncomfortable about it.

Cons: Airport transportation is inadequate at peak times. The shared van system that they use doesn't allow for a scheduled pickup time. Plan on at least 45 minutes to get from or to the airport. An hour or more is quite possible. This is a significant problem and not acceptable for a 4 star "airport" hotel.

Cons: Having to ask for a small refrigerator. Paying 33$ a night to park.

Cons: Too noisy, you could hear every car passing by as well as every take off and landing at LAX Not to mention Union protest with load speakers starting at 7:00 AM every 3 morning for an hour right outside of our window making it impossible to sleep pass 7:00 AM and when we complained, we got offered $50 food and beverage comp and that wasn't enough for one breakfast meal! Also, $30.00 + tax for parking and $11.95 a day for in room wifi Personly, We felt like being nickel and dined for everything. not planing to stay there next time. You are better off paying a little more and staying in the city.

Cons: We were traveling on a Friday. The restaurant was very crowded and difficult to get a table. (It would have been nice to have a meal carryout option from the bar or restaurant.)

Cons: I was so excited to arrive to the hotel because it’s reputation of excellence, quality, good customer service, high-class, and cleanliness precedes them. I was truly let down by my experience here. When we got to our first room it reeked of cigarette smoke and the bed looked like Goldilocks had been testing whether or not it was “just right” for sleeping in...we asked to change rooms. When we got to the second room the bed looked like the sheets had been changed...thank goodness, but the door to the adjoining room looked like it had been tampered with. I unlocked the door on my side (just to investigate) only to find the room next door had not yet been cleaned (housekeeping didn’t stop by to clean it until 2 days after we arrived) hmmm...I wonder if that‘s why check-in times are AFTER 3 pm. That’s when I heard the planes taking off. The stay went downhill from there. When I was getting ready to order room service, not a menu was in sight. I had to call the front desk to ask where it was located in the room. That’s when we were told that room service would not be provided to guests due to covid and that we could order take out or eat outside from the Dailey Grill, the in-house restaurant (the front desk should have informed us of that at the time of check in). When we decided to stream a video, the volume on the TV was up SO high, I’m sure my family back East heard the movie! The volume button on the remote didn't work so I had to “turn the volume down” by stuffing clothes under the tv where we thought the speakers were located. It was still super loud. In the bathroom, the only lotion tube had definitely been used as it was half empty because it had not been replaced with new bottles. To add insult to injury there was--what appeared to be pubic hair in the tub! The night before our last stay, I ordered a hot green tea from the daily grill and it tasted—and smelled like—seaweed. The alcoholic beverage I ordered with dinner was lacking in the main ingredient...alcohol! The salmon was VERY bland and not seasoned...come to think of it, nothing on the plate was seasoned. Due to covid, there was not a lot of hustle and bustle that you’d normally find in a hotel that’s located close to the airport. With that said, I’m sure there were MANY other rooms that guests could have been placed in besides the ones closest to the landing strip at LAX. Every morning I was awakened by planes taking off every 15 minutes starting at 6 am. I was so tired by the afternoon a nap at that time would’ve been welcomed, but alas, more planes were taking off to new and exciting destinations! Ha! I had high expectations for staying at the Westin because of its reputation. The Westin in LA DID NOT live up to ANY part of those expectations! I will not spend my hard earned money on a “High-end” hotel where it can be compared to that of a Best Western.
