Pros: My room was very nice and had everything I needed for the week. I had a fully size fridge, microwave two desks and a separate room. It was nice to walk outside the hotel and be directly on the Riverwalk with great restaurants like Macy's, Ritas on the River and Iron Cactus just a few steps away. In the evening the hotel offers three free adult beverages with "snacks" but it could easily be a meal. We had chicken strips, salad, pasta and a baked potato available most evenings. The Air Force sends me here for training once a year and I look forward to staying at the Drury Plaza.,
Cons: My dresser was difficult to close, but it didn't bother me enough to report it until I checked out. No other complaints at all.

Pros: I was very surprised that not only did I get free breakfast with my stay but also free dinner (buffet) and 3 free happy-hour drinks each day! The staff was friendly (sometimes almost over-friendly), and the location was perfect. Highly recommend.
Cons: Room smelled like chlorine when I came in, and the water tasted heavily chlorinated. The room was a bit poorly lit, and the windowsill outside the room was consistently overrun with pigeons. Glasses as opposed to plastic cups would be preferred (for the environment), and a safe to lock up valuables would have been nice. (I prefer not to have to take my passport with me everywhere.)

Pros: I did a staycation here and loved it! I love the location of this resort near the La Cantera Mall and the Rim shopping center. The adult only pool was nice, especially in the morning when it was cooler in the day and quiet. The pool attendants were very attentive in asking us for any orders we wanted. The grounds of the resort itself are beautiful. I love the back terrace as a place to sit and chat during the cool evening. There is plenty of seating to enjoy the scenery. Enjoyed a movie on the lawn one night under the stars, which was also a fun touch.

Pros: We were upgraded to the VIP floor! It was wonderful! Great breakfast!!! The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. View was amazing. The weather was cold and there were only 4 people in the pool. The water slide was scheduled to open at 10:00. I asked a young man (staff member) walking by if it would open as scheduled. It was about 20 minutes to 10:00. He kindly offered to open the slide at that moment. There were s'mores in the evening. We parked in self parking. The very attentive attendants took us to our car in a golf cart, which was really fun for our daughter and an extra chance to enjoy the views!! Wish we would have had more time to enjoy the resort. Next time we will stay longer. Some reviewers said resort was looking old. We thought it was fantastic. After renovations this resort is going to be out of this world!!!
Cons: We ate at Francesca's. The food wasn't anything special. My soup was cold. I said that my daughter and I would share a burger, the waiter split it for us and put it on two plates! That was a nice touch. I am picky and generally don't like restaurant food, so others may find the food good.

Cons: Valet almost tboned my car as we were driving to self parking. He pulled out of their drive so fast. Was difficult to get the front desk personnel to pay attention to us. There were always multiple people staffing the front desk, but they would avoid looking at you and would not offer assistance. Twice I had to interrupt two front desk employees talking to each other in order to get assistance.

Pros: The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The surrounding landscape was beautiful to view. Actually breathtaking from some directions.
Cons: What we didn't like...the beds were too firm. Had a hard time sleeping because of it. Also if you don't plan to use any of the amenities, don't stay here. The reason why I say this is because you are charged high resort fee. We never used any of the amenities and had to pay this fee. The valet is a separate fee. If you park yourself its a very long walk from the parking lot to the entrance.

Pros: We are moving from coast to coast during the COVID 19 crisis. The Gibbs Hotel (across from the Alamo) was not just open, they were extremely welcoming and caring within the necessary restrictions. We had the most beautiful room ever overlooking the Alamo. Although beautiful San Antonio was closed during the pandemic, we will not forget our stay at the Gibbs. It makes things so much better when everyone is worried and stressed to have a place where they not only remember their history, they preserve their beautiful hotel with all the modern amenities. This is a 5* property with 5* staff.
Cons: As a downtown hotel, they have parking in a city lot which is certainly going to be very busy and crowded in normal tourist times in downtown San Antonio.

Pros: We really appreciated the location of the hotel, it was really convenient in that sense, it was within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The staff was also really friendly.

It was no where near a $200 a night room. From to moment you arrive you are on your own to unload your bags, drag them in the hotel and then hopefully find the lobby to check in. Which is on the second floor. Everything is expencive like you would expect but their is little to no staff to help you. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Pros: Staff was unprofessional. Check in was at 3, we got there at 7 and the room still wasnt ready. While we waited for 45 minutes we had to get dressed in the public restroom and my girlfriend had to straighten her hair in the hallway because there was no outlets in the restroom. After we finally got our room we had to rush to the spurs gsme that we had planned and ended up missing the first quarter all because of the staff at the hotel. We decided to switch hotels the next day. Other than that the hotel was really nice looking.

Cons: Bed corners are very dangerous, I end up with bruises because bed woods expand from mattress and you can hit your legs easily unless you are very careful. I had the opportunity to talk to other guests and they complain about the same dangerous corners. Bathroom have to many gabs on counter and your personal products can fall while cleaning is happening and you will never find them. If your leave something you have to go to a website to file lost and found. That is very far from what is the main reason of hotels, customer service...... Very poor in that part. Most rooms the city view is the windows of the next building.

Pros: This is the second time I have chosen the Crockett hotel. It is a historic 7 story hotel. The hotel has been remodeled with fresh updated fixtures and appliances. These rooms are huge. You could do gymnastics in them. The staff is super friendly and actually happy to see you. Breakfast is typical eggs, waffels and such. The location is why you want stay here but the staff and hotel is why you will be back.

Pros: The breakfast was really good. Not spectacular, but better than any of my group expected. We ate there every morning. The pool may be small, but it's a little oasis! So beautiful! As a matter of fact, the entire hotel was beautiful! We were worried that it was going to be somewhat far from the convention center, but we just cut through the mall every time and it was super easy and fast. Next year, it'll be our little sneaky way to stay close to the convention without staying in the godawful convention hotel or one of the overpriced surrounding hotels.
Cons: We had a room that sort of had a balcony, but the door was nailed shut. That was kind of disappointing... The windows were as well, which made it turn out to be a very bad decision that we sprayed on sunscreen in our room... To get a mini fridge, you need to pay a one-time fee that I think was $25. My group didn't bother, but be aware of that extra fee. Pool was only just large enough to do any actual swimming in. It also only reached maybe 5 feet deep. If there had been a crowd, I imagine it would not have been very fun.

Pros: I have usually stayed at the Menger Hotel as I like the old fashioned ambiance of vintage hotels. I also love drinking in the Menger Bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders. Pros: My husband and I love to go to San Antonio a few times a year to get away for a few days. We almost always stay at The Crockett. The rooms are clean and the location is great! The hotel bar Ernie's is a great place to go and unwind after all the sight-seeing. The bartender Travis is an awesome asset for the hotel!! He is one for great conversation and always recommends excellent places to try for dinner!

No need to drive. Parking in San Antonio downtown is expensive. You can take the bus near the hotel, and get off in two stops, but no need to drive unless you go to the Missions or the caverns.

Pros: Central Location: Beautiful 150 year old historic hotel, literally across the street from Alamo, Numerous attractions, Riverwalk Mall, Ripley's, Wax Museum, Guinness Records, etc.... Short trolley ride to Historic Market. We used it as base of operations. Bought all-day passes to attractions and walked back to hotel to cool off/swim when needed. Lots of food nearby too. Hotel staff gave great service too. Kids loved all the museum like stuff in the hotel. The bar has a mirror with a bullet hole next to it they say Teddy Roosevelt shot in it on a bet when he was there recruiting his rough riders. Been here several times. It is our 'go to' spot for San Antonio.
Cons: The parking is very expensive. Thirty dollars per day - but it is expensive in the entire city and you do have unlimited in and out privileges. The hotel is really old so it has a few rough edges. The pool tiling needs a bit of repair, some of the doors stick a bit, the elevators are small, floors are a little uneven and a bit sloped here and there, etc. It has a lot of "character", but I guess refurbishing an old hotel is like restoring an old car, you never quite manage to get all of the rattles out of it.

One note of special interest: the maid was a great source of info; cheerful and helpful!

Pros: This bad experience had ever happened to me and my family before. I will never use again KAYAK again to book my reservations. Result, they have this "Getaroom" subsidiary with a poor description of their booking application, and it scammed you before you know the transaction has a nonrefundable policy until it is too late via your email confirmation. I called them, my credit card, agent, and the hotel. None of them were in the good customer satisfaction attitude to refund my money, cancel, or reschedule the booking transaction. Be aware of using them to book your reservation before it is too late. Anyone can make a mistake some time, but this Draculonian thirsty-blooded camming business does not care for you. Pray to Lord, this kind of business entities does not prosper any more in the traveler's economy.

There are other places out there that you can get for a better deal and not be treated with disregard and contempt. I waited 45 minutes at the airport for the shuttle to show up when I called for the shuttle immediately upon arrival. I called the hotel after waiting curbside for 20 minutes. The front desk staff (Steve) then lied to me and told me that there was traffic which was causing the shuttle to be diverted, but when talking with the driver he told me there was no traffic at all. Google maps had also confirmed that earlier.

I actually had an issue with someone parking so close that I could not get into my drivers side which caused a major problem for the rest of my family to be able to get in. I did call the police station and asked what my options were for getting the other vehicle towed, and they said it was up to the hotel since it's private property. Well, I let the staff know and even took them out there to show them. The staff assured me they would get it handled, needless to say it wasn't handle the next morning. I had to have my six year old daughter climb into our vehicle and hand me items to help make room for me so u could squeeze my way in. It was very inconvenient for me and my family.

She said she would send me an email to get complimentary wifi and have a blanket sent up. The email never came and I went downstairs to request the blanket again. From what I heard, we got the last blanket. For the most part I felt like I was being treated like a second class citizen. We won't be going back.

Cons: 2nd entrance from road was locked so had to loop around again. Traffic noise was surprisingly noticeable considering we were on 19th floor. Sound proofing could probably be better. Outside hot tub didn't seem to have any jets. Sliding closet door was too narrow to get a suitcase comfortably inside onto the folding rack. Only 1 robe provided.

Pros: The hotel has abundant free parking. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable. The bedding and towels were high quality, and the bed comfortable. The employees I had contact with were nice. I didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked lovely. There is a well stocked convenience store in the lobby.

Pros: Staff was above and beyond. Minor issues were addressed quickly and thoroughly. Serious issues did not come up at all. Staff continuously and proactively offered service, advice and support. Some good restaurants nearby, though shopping was limited. Hotel will drive you anywhere within 5 miles. 15 minutes from the airport (their shuttle) and a $15 Uber ride to downtown sites like the Riverwalk or the Alamo.
Cons: Room was a bit older and darker than we prefer, but comfortable and very quiet. Elevators were a temporary problem on Friday night but were fixed by Saturday morning.

Cons: The only issue we had was parking. There were events going on Friday and Saturday night which made it hard to find parking. We searched the lot for almost and hour looking for parking and there wasn't any. I think that they should give a heads up to all guest so that if they decide to leave they can plan to be back later or sooner. We had spent an entire day at six flags and want to come back to relax but couldn't because there was literally no parking.

Cons: The room felt like it needed to be steam cleaned with bleach... The room appeared to be updated sometime in the early 2000. But has not been maintained well. The bed was as hard as the floor. The shower head was loose and the bathroom smelled of old urine. We ordered Breakfast to our room the first morning. The breakfast was good and when we where ready to leave for the day I called to let the staff know so they could come up and clean our room. We where gone the entire day and come back to the same mess we left that morning... At 250 a night plus 30 a night valet parking This should have never happened. That night I went to drink a water bottle the staff provides for you in the room and there was no seal on the lid on either bottle. The cleaning person didn't even bother to change our water bottles. just filled them up with tap water and called it a day. If you are looking for a clean room with basic hotel services I would look past this place!!

One morning I had no hot water. The staff listened, but didn't seem concerned about it. Pros: This hotel was very nice! Our room was ready when expected and they placed us with a corner room with a great view, for no extra cost. Staff were great and the check in/check out process was so simple! The location could not have been better for the main attractions, such as the Alamo and Riverwalk. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Pros: I had to book this place last minute because my flight got diverted to San Antonio because of storms. For the price I wasn't expecting much, but the place was extremely clean, comfortable and had great amenities. The front desk staff were awesome and let me know that the shuttle could take me to eat at some select places to eat and that there was a Chinese food place that delivered. It's also right next door to a Specs which after a long hectic flight was a welcome development. The shuttle form the airport showed up quickly after I called from the airport. I thought I'd be able to hear a lot of noise and planes from the hotel, but it was surprisingly quiet. If I find myself flying into San Antonio I'd definitely stay there again!

Cons: Upon check in I was told that because I booked through an online 3rd party they couldn't guarantee my room preference. AND I was told that I just happened to have secured the last room available and I was lucky I showed up when I did. I asked for a king bed, I got 2 double beds and I asked for a non-smoking room and got a room that was surrounded by 'smoking rooms' (why do those even exist anymore?). I usually book directly with hotels - because this is not the first time I have used a third party for hotel reservations only to be treated poorly by hotel staff and/or not end up with what I booked.

Filled with history, charm, and luxury, downtown San Antonio along with the Hotel Contessa were great for our girl's getaway.

The hotel's location is directly on a loop of the riverwalk which is good because it puts you right into the attraction, but is not on the main section so it's much quieter and easier to find a dining place. Parking is available across the street from the hotel and the street itself is not as busy as those nearer the Alamo.
Cons: Parking at the hotel is a ridiculous $36/night and they charged for two parking spots for our two motorcycles even though we actually had both bikes consolidated out of the way in the valet area not even in the parking garage. That was irritating. The hotel staff were polite but very cold and decidedly unfriendly. Don't believe I did anything to be offensive or difficult - I didn't even argue about the parking issue - but all of the desk staff (two in the evening, one in the morning) gave the impression they had much better things to do than speak with me.

Pros: Made a special stop at the river walk on our five day trek from Pittsburgh to puerto Vallarta Mexico. Stopped to enjoy the beautiful view and exeperience the river walk. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. Unique with design, very friendly conceierge, and beautiful room layout.
Cons: Our one and only critique, and rather silly at that, after pulling in with our vehicle and stopping at the front valet, the attendant seemed almost shocked when we said, yes we would like you to park the car, and replied with an almost doubtful "are you sure? Wouldn't you like to hear the prices?" Though I'm sure he was just trying to do his job and avoid later frustration, the tone in which he asked us the question was borderline offensive. Young man if we can afford to stay where we are staying we certainly assure you we can afford to park.

Also the tub in our room did not drain properly, so you stood in water while you showered and the faucet was loose and spun all the way around.

Pros: The amenities of this well laid out hotel were everything that I would have expected from a Hilton spa and hotel. From the fire pit seating areas and heated pools to the decor and spacious rooms, I very much enjoyed the hotel itself.
Cons: First. We arrived at almost 1pm to find that we were not able to check in. No rooms were ready. Next. The staff. It seemed that there were as many trainees as there were experienced staff (not very many of either). At the bar restaurant, there was only one experienced server. She was great and did the best with what she had. However, she couldn't keep up with everyone in the restaurant and train a new person, too. It took a very long time to get our food (some good, some not good) and drinks and there wasn't more than 20 people in the restaurant. I can only imagine how understaffed the kitchen was as well (we were there for about 2.5 hours). The breakfast restaurant seemed to suffer from the same lack of trained, attentive staff. The housekeeping staff were noisy and yelled down the hall to each other in the morning. Not professional at all.

Housekeeping didn't leave towels in the room and not only one day but several days and more than 1 room that my family had for our stay, I told these to the people on the reception but I don't know if they didn't do anything or the housekeeping didn't understand. The firt day we had breakfast at the hotel but since it was so slow and bad the rest of the days we decided to go out. Even the bar was lame and closed like 9 pm. I think the rooms and the hotel is good but has the worst manager I have seen in mi life.

We weren’t offered a map and on the last day checking out we saw nice colored maps on the counter which would have been very helpful, the drains in the sink were slow draining, they charged an outrageous amount for parking when they have a huge lot, no continental breakfast like most Hilton’s, and the overall quality was not up to par for other Hilton’s that we stay at and my husband is a Hilton rewards member and stays quite often with Hilton for business. I felt like we received poor service because I booked with a third party.

Pros: I was in San Antonio due to my mother being hospitalized. I had been at her bedside all week and my family came for the weekend. I needed to relax and get some rest. Casey front desk reception was very kind and went out her way to make our stay wonderful. Walking thebeautiful grounds and being poolside was very relaxing. We always stay at Marriott hotelservices but definitely choose Hilton in our future stays.

I hope so because it could be a very nice, convenient place to stay.

Cons: Some of the staff was very rude, especially the manager! I encountered so many problems with my stay, it was awful. I had problems checking in and they charged my card twice! The shower in our room made this really loud noise every time you turned it on, which was super annoying! Also, the smoke alarms kept going off with no explanation, even in the middle of the night! I will never ever stay here again!

Cons: The internet service in my 5th floor room was poor. Then the crickets moved in. I killed three of them and counted 5 more down the hall from me. While I was at the font desk talking about the lack of Wifi, two very angry women guests came down to check out because of all the bugs. The interior is worn and does not present as clean. There was a puddle of water in the middle of the floor. They offered me a room on the second floor where the Wifi was better but even to my male nose, this room smelled stale. I decided I'd seen enough and many thanks to Kayak for getting me out of this mess and into the Best Western Sunrise Suites (1 block away). Same price range and a high quality hotel. BEWARE THE RED ROACH INN!

Pros: Everything was good, and it was a surprise. I went in thinking it was a real dive, based on the reviews I read after booking my room. I was there for 3 nights and I cant complain about a single thing, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, staff were really friendly, and it looks to be quite a new motel, or has been recently renovated. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone!
Cons: Cant say anything bad, it is a 2 star hotel that is more like a 3 star. The rates were not cheap, but seeing as there was a convention in town, it was a whole lot cheaper than nearby hotels. Enjoyed the approximately five minute or so quiet walk along the beautiful scenic Riverwalk before reaching all the hubbub. Also the staff are wonderful everyone was very courteous and helpful. The location was perfect--very close to the Downtown action but not right up in it. My view from the room was great. I loved seeing the toucan in the lobby. Not only was it fun to see a toucan at my hotel, but also, it appeared as if the little guy was well cared for.
Cons: For the first two nights the AC wasn't working (fan was on but no cool air coming out of it), however, it seemed to be just fine during my last night there. I was too busy to address the issue so I can only assume that someone looked at it while I was out of the room during the day. Either way, I was happy it was working upon my return. Cons: When I first walked in the room was very out dated. The room still has wall paper. Which to me is very old school. Second was the pillow had seimen on them. Yes that's rite I said Seimen. I have pictures to prove it. I felt discussed and question about staying the night. Third is when I open the curtains to look at the view. All I can see was bird poop all over the Windows. Not a very pleasant view. I have pictures also to prove that. The pictures that was online didn't quite match the rooms in person. For the price I paid I felt like i was staying in a motel 6 yes that's bad. I told the employee Art at the service desk about my stay. He took notes and said the manager will give me a call. Can't wait for that call. He gave me two coupons for complementary drinks at the coffee shop. By the way the drinks didn't taste good so went to the trash. I wouldn't stay in the hotel the next time I'm in town which is next month.

On the second day there we walk into our room to find the lady propped up in our bed on her phone, when we walked in on her she started to laugh at us and continue to talk in Spanish and walked out. They own the parking lot and still charged you $23.00 a day to park in it and long with the room charge. You did not even get a bed spread for the bed only two sheets. We ran out of tissue and never did get any more. I asked the man in house keeping if we could get some and all he said was si si and we never got it. I went to the dollar store and bought our own. I will never stay at this place again.

Sometimes one is willing to stay a few blocks from the convention hotel simply because the price is considerably less. One expects low-end, no-frills, budget accommodations; but one also expects a clean room. One does not get a clean room at the Day's Inn Alamo in San Antonio. This room was absolutely filthy. The carpet was filthy all over the room, and it had YEARS worth of filth collected along every wall and corner. The bathroom was a mildew farm with silverfish crawling around. One of the bedspreads had toothpaste all over it. There were two wads of chewed gum on the floor and an empty chips bag just under the edge of the bed. The bathroom exhaust fan did not work. The television did not work. Don't even think about giving this place your money. Stay ANYWHERE but here. The health department should shut this place down.

Cons: I am a frequent traveler and this was about the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. We requested to switch rooms because the first restroom was covered in hair. The staff was very nice and gave us a second room, which was not only also covered in someone else's hair but wreaked of cigarettes, despite the non smoking facility. This time he came to the room, agreed and gave us a 3rd room. This one smelled like old take out but I didn't see any hair on the tub, so it appeared to be the best of the 3. We were exhausted, so I didn't notice the 2 used bars of soap and used washcloth until the next morning. Disgusting! The convenience of the location is not at all worth the lack of cleanliness. When I complained in the morning, I was told they're remodelling and they'd give us a discount. I wouldn't have stayed another night if it was free. Unacceptable.
