The staff member at Munich was very polite and very helpful. Didn't have the type of car we hired but happy with what we got although it did cost quite a bit more than what we booked. The car GPS was all in German and we only speak English and couldn't get it into English mode. The drop off point in Verona was extremely hard to find especially after the one we found was closed. Great help from friendly clerk at pick up. Car shifted poorly and lagged to accelerate. Drop off was hard to find at Frankfurt Airport. Google maps shows only rental car return, located at Terminal 2. Attendant at Terminal 2 sent me to Terminal 1. To reach Terminal 1 Rental Car Return, you must drive in the same single lane as ALL other cars going to pick people up on the Arrivals level. There was an airport parking attendant at the round about, letting cars through one at a time, as space became available at the Arrivals level. I, and all other rental cars, had to wait in line with all the other vehicles before we could finally access the Return Area. It took well over 25 minutes, and I watched over 100 cars get let through, 1 at a time, until my turn. I will never rent a car into Frankfurt Terminal 1 again.Reviewed 2023 Aug 25

I’ve never rented a car that didn’t have unlimited mileage and we went over with Sixt. Just driving from where we picked up the car to where we dropped it off was close to the allotted mileage. The staff at both ends were fabulous. Very kind and helpful.Reviewed 2023 Jul 22

I wanted to book an electric car, small. I was fooled to believe that the car I booked is electric. I checked the electric tic box, and the agent didn't tell me at all that the car is a hybrid SUV, which has zero battery charge - no ecological values, double the cost for the gas and carbon footprint. The ramp out of garbage is super steep, narrow and curves at the point where the ramps starts - very tricky to get out, danger to get some scratch.Reviewed 2023 Jul 13

Pick up was a disaster! “Laura” could not have been less helpful. Pushy, rude, refused to listen — all at 10pm after an exhausting flight. Took 45 minutes at the counter after waiting in line. Started off badly when she confirmed we were dropping off the car in France, and then asked if we were going to another country. What? Then didn’t want to give us a car in our confirmed category, tried repeatedly to sell us on a more expensive car, and on the LDW insurance, and on a diesel car, and on a manual transmission. Would not listen when we said no, no, no no. In the end, after this endless wrangling, voila, a suitable car appeared like magic! “Oh, it’s brand new, just became available”! At 10:45pm? I don’t think so. This lady needs better training, or SIXT needs to not incentivize their CS reps to engage in blatant bait-and-switch tactics to tired foreign customers (which would be 100% illegal in the US)! Keep in mind that we paid close to $700 euro for a 3 day rental. This is absolutely the worst car rental experience my wife and I have ever had, bar none.Reviewed 2023 Jun 08

Not a great start to our vacation. The sixt representative at the airport counter was extremely unhelpful. I already booked the car online but when this man gave me the amount due for the rental he included the sixt rental coverage. I had selected no online. When I told him I did not want the rental coverage and I asked if my personal insurance would suffice to cover the car he just answered “I don’t know”. I asked him if other people usually decline the sixt insurance and he also said “I don’t know”. Also on the bill was a “premium location charge” of around $30 which apparently is for renting the car from the airport, however when I made my rental booking beforehand this charge was not on the price. I asked him about it and he said it was standard, but again, if it is standard then why wasn’t it on my initial reservation charge? Lastly, the representative asked if I wanted an automatic or manual transmission. I said manual. When we got to our rental car it was an automatic transmission. This employee is representing your brand very poorly. All the surrounding customer service representatives seemed more interested and helpful with regards to their jobs.
