Pros: Vehicle had damage that affected functionality. We had to wait about 2 hours to get the vehicle. Undisclosed insurance requirement was added at check in. Overall poor experience.
Cons: Be timely. Provide a good product. Be upfront about pricing.
Cons: The Thrifty agent was not at the pick-up location at the scheduled time.
The vehicle (a Mitsubishi sedan) itself performed slowly, and was very sluggish on roads with hills. The vehicle had over 141,000 miles on it, which is probably why it performed poorly. The tires were almost bald.
The plastic chip cover on the key ring broke apart and some electronic chips fell out, making it impossible to start the car. This happened the day we had to be at the airport for an outbound flight.
We had rented from Thrifty on another occasion, and that vehicle broke down and had to be replaced. It also had one broken headlight bulb that had to be replaced. Adios Thrifty.
Cost was much more than expected
Pros: The rental, although bigger than what I had reserved, was in good condition and fairly clean on the inside. The shuttle at the airport upon arrival was very prompt and ready to take us to the location as soon as we arrived.
Cons: I was told by the gentleman at the counter that I had to pay a mandatory $144 liability fee. When I inquired as to why it was mandatory he said it was just mandatory. Seeing as I didn’t have another option for car rentals and I was traveling w my infant, it was not easy for me to inquire at other locations re the “mandatory” fee. So I ended up paying way more than I had anticipated. I also reserved a convertible car seat but all they had was a very old and dirty infant car seat.
Pros: Great service by the local representatives .. follow up was great and very responsive to my needs.
Pros: We got a 7 passenger SUV, exactly as we had requested
Cons: The car was a bit beat up. The air conditioner did not blow cold air, and we later found out that the hose had a leak. Also, the breaks were shot and squealed fiercely from the second day till the 14th day.
I never felt comfortable renting from them
Pros: The vehicle was economic
Cons: I reserved a minivan and they offered me a 15 seater bus. Ended up taking a 12 seater. Dirty, the car wasn’t in the greatest shape inside or mechanical, missing rear window wiper, ignition key would jam sometimes. They attempted to have me sign a document right of the bat where I was acknowledging damage done to the car claiming that all the details will be filled in just in case something happened tonthe car. Ended up paying more for insurance than what was shown on the website.
Cons: The Insurance charge Was not explained
Will never do thrift again
Cons: Brakes barely worked. We waited about 40 minutes after arriving for the car to b ready. Car was ugly and beat up.
Pros: Big rip off and really old car
Cons: Everything
Lots of hidden charges
Cons: I was charged just as much for insurance than for the car rental.
Cons: I had to make sure all the fluids were full ( was 2 quarts low on oil ) not one tire matched it had a 192K on it and had the shakes and a clunk in the front suspension. I understand this is Guatemala but a BRAND Name rental agency that had cars like a buy here pay here sales lot WTF
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Bad custumer service when i reserve online i paid insurance and when i got there the rental was suposed to be $650.00 and they charge me 842.00 on top of 153.00 dollars i paid in advance for insurance.
