Line too longCons:I canceled my Thrifty reservation (made 6 months prior) as I was staring at a line of 6 people ahead of me, in a mostly empty airport. The man working the counter at the Melbourne International Airport appeared to be extremely slow, and the line didn't move in the 10 minutes I stood there. I decided to quickly access carrentals.com, and found a car at an adjacent agency that had no line. They actually upgraded me from a Ford Focus to an Infinity Q-50. Long story short, the line took way too long. After getting off a plane with a toddler, I'm not waiting 20 minutes or more to pick up a reserved car. C'mon.Reviewed 2018 Jul 23

Cons:I was 90 minutes late to pick up and they gave my car to someone else. They never tried to contact me to see if I was still coming. So I was forced to go counter to counter trying to find another company with a car I could rent. So it cost me more money in the long run.Reviewed 2018 Jul 11

Pros:Great customer service during check in /outCons:The first car was a Nissan Altima, it had over 27,000 miles on it. The car was filthy and been wrecked on the back passenger side. The windows were filthy and the dash was coming apart. I have never in my life rented a car that had over 12,000 miles on it, it almost felt like they gave us the bottom of the barrel car because we got a good deal online. We took the car back on the second day and was given a Chevy Impala that had 18,000 miles on it, the cars they had all seemed to be worn out and to be the cheapest model car you could buy. After looking around the rental car lot at the airport Thrifty / Dollar seemed to have the worst looking cars. We are looking to book another car the last weekend of July and will not use Thrifty.Reviewed 2018 Jul 10

Bogus chargesCons::bcgroup Details I am writing to refute the cleaning charge of $75.00 on the following rental car contract #Y28022584. I spoke with the local agent and she says management stated that the car smelled of smoke. Neither my husband or I have every smoked. This is ludicrous! We hardly drove the car. No one was there when we returned the car Saturday April 28th and no one was at the counter. If we thought the car smelled like smoke when we picked it up we would of asked for a different car. This is a complete fraudulent charge. I insist a credit of $75 is issued as soon as possible. Kayak is asking me to comment about my car rental experience and I am going to make them aware of this fraudulent activity! I also going to make Hotwire and Thrifty Customer Service aware.Reviewed 2018 Apr 30
