The advertised rate was $47 for a quick 90 minute rental. Fine! Perfect! When I got to the counter I was told it would be an electric car. No problem! After all, I selected the mystery car option. But then i was told I would need to return it fully charged with a full one hour charge! What the hell? Or…I was offered a gas car for $20 extra. I felt like I had just been baited and switched! Not cool at all. I certainly have no problems with an EV. But being told I had to charge a full hour, which was either false information or way to get me to ‘upgrade’ for extra, was not only disappointing but cause for pause next time this airline employee needs to rent. Either way it’s bad word of mouth among my colleagues.Reviewed 2026 Jan 19

Pickup was a pain, got a vehicle with 7% charge and then when I went back inside to exchange there was a long line of people that I had to wait behind to exchange my vehicle. The woman also initially tried to charge me the wrong price that was much more than what I booked it for. Drop off was a breeze though and I really liked the ease of just parking and walking onto the airport shuttle.Reviewed 2025 Oct 17

We picked up the vehicle in North Carolina it was snowing and sloppy there was no window washer fluid in the vehicle. Had to stop and throw snow on the windshield,. We bought some put it in only to find out the sprayer did not work. We called budget talked to someone they had us call a different number was suppose to be a local number but we got put on another waiting list never talked to anyone. Thank goodness the the weather changed and we did not need the wipers anymore the rest of the time spent there.Reviewed 2025 Feb 24

The first car that we were directed to, smelled so strongly of cigarettes I had to ask for another car. It was particularly annoying since I had my 3 and 5 year old grandsons and had to have the car seats switched to another car. The second car was ok but not nearly as nice as I have had in the past. We arrived at this Budget location to find a massive line, snaking through the building, out the door, and well into the parking lot. I waited for about 45 minutes before I even got to the door of the building, and there was easily another 45 minutes to go. In the meantime my husband booked another car at the Alamo across the street and was able to pick it up before I was even halfway through the Budget line. Needless to say we ditched our Budget reservation entirely. I feel for the staff of this location - the folks we encountered were as patient as they could be under the circumstances. But something went seriously wrong here. I’d like to say I’d give them another chance, but when all you need from a long travel day is for things to go smoothly…another chance is just not worth it. Sorry to say Budget has lost my business.Reviewed 2023 Oct 09
