I wish the maintenance would have been done on the car before I picked it up. It’s always concerning with the maintenance required light comes on and you’ve only driven the car about 50 miles. The morning drop off crew was wonderful! We dropped off around 4am and everyone we encountered was so bright and cheery. Vince was so kind and helpful in directing us to the shuttle bus. Tracie, the driver was so friendly and lovely. She was a breath of fresh air so very early in the morning.

Thrifty itself is fine and the staff were very friendly. The problem is with the booking company Qeeq. At the time of booking there was no indication that I had reserved an electric vehicle. I had to “upgrade” to a petrol car. For $55 extra per day.

I didn’t like the fact that I prepaid for everything on the rental. When I got to the counter to pick up the keys I was charged an extra $200.00 for insurance when I told the representative that I have insurance and the credit card covers the insurance as well. The rep told me no I had to get their insurance. Also I was also hit with a $500.00 hold for using my debit card because there wasn’t enough funds on the card. I was charged a total of $1,050.00 including the rental, insurance, and hold amount. My prepaid total in July when I made the reservation was no more than $500.00 . I will not use this app again because it didn’t disclose everything. Thank goodness I had extra money to cover this mess or I would have been stranded.

The first car that we were directed to, smelled so strongly of cigarettes I had to ask for another car. It was particularly annoying since I had my 3 and 5 year old grandsons and had to have the car seats switched to another car. The second car was ok but not nearly as nice as I have had in the past. The return was good but I probably will look for another rental company.

We arrived at this Budget location to find a massive line, snaking through the building, out the door, and well into the parking lot. I waited for about 45 minutes before I even got to the door of the building, and there was easily another 45 minutes to go. In the meantime my husband booked another car at the Alamo across the street and was able to pick it up before I was even halfway through the Budget line. Needless to say we ditched our Budget reservation entirely. I feel for the staff of this location - the folks we encountered were as patient as they could be under the circumstances. But something went seriously wrong here. I’d like to say I’d give them another chance, but when all you need from a long travel day is for things to go smoothly…another chance is just not worth it. Sorry to say Budget has lost my business.

We were lucky to have rented an SUV that only had 24 miles on it. There was still plastic covering parts of the console. This was the first time I had driven this sort of vehicle. It had a ton of features and was super comfortable.

Cons:

It was difficult to find the car rental location and when I called it was hard to get ahold of someone to clarify directions. The agent was all by herself and couldn’t manage the desk and the phone by herself without effecting the quality of service, but she did the best she could and was great.

Absolutely niothing!!! Shady salespeople, uncooperative salespeople when trying to remove expensive “extra’s after day 1 of four day rental. Rude salespeople (Janet) coward manager that would never come out of office to meet with me. Tried calling 1-800 phone number, uncooperative also, they told me I needed to go to rental site which I did—they wouldn’t take off extra’s unless I returned the car. The rental site told me to call 1-800 which would not help me...AWFUL service.

Advantage charged way to much for extras or extra driver and double the price of normal insurance. Plus tried selling as a toll easy pass by misleading about tolls in NC. the car was not cleaned very well. Windshield wiper fluid ran out after first use

It was early in the AM, but they were very professional and friendly.

Cons:

There was a veiled threat by the rental associate that the insurance we'd purchased through Kayak left us vulnerable, and that they'd bill us for any "days" our car was unavailable if it needed repair from an accident, and that the insurance we'd purchased most likely wouldn't cover that cost.

Pick up and drop off was simple and quick. Customer service was fantastic. Only bad part was the vehicle. The special offer was for a small SUV. What I received was an Buick with 80k miles that looked and felt very used. The brakes were going bad as well.

While the drop off was east, I found that I was charged $6.99 for gas when I filled the gas rouhgly one mile from the drop off place. My mistake is I did not check the bill until I reached home. I feel cheated because I filled the car

The staff should be fair and inform the client that they find the tank not filled while we signed to fill and bring. Clean the car better both inside and outside. There was smell of smoke inside the car when I took it. I mentioned this to the security at the gate. He told me that this may be from the material used for the upholstery.

Cons:

Took a while to get the car when I picked it up. I had a 9:00 drop off time. Arrived to Avis at 9:00 and no one was at the office and the door was locked. Avis worked showed up at 9:15 and couldn’t even get in the office. I had to leave my rental agreement and keys with her at the front door because we were all stuck outside. Very unprofessional

I had an absolutely awful experience. It was honestly so bad that I can't bring myself to write it again. Let's just say the customer service was completely unhelpful, I was misinformed multiple times and had to spend an additional $1000. I will absolutely NEVER rent from national again, no matter what deal they offer, just on principle.

Bait and switch. Rude attendant. Prepaid for car. Tried adding $175 in new charges at check out. Added services I turned down. Added a bunch of fees no other rental company has ever charged. First time renter…now last time renter.

I waited for 45 minutes outside for the shuttle in 33° windy weather. My hands had frost nip and were firey red and swollen from the cold. The other rental companies cam and went 4-5 times while I waited for Sixt, and no one ever came. They were indeed open. But their shuttle driver apparently was on a long break. I called customer service and even they couldn't reach a live person at the rental office. So they said "we'll just refund your money" but all the other rental car companies were sold out and not accepting new reservations. Their mess up literally made a giant mess of my trip! This was after a horrible experience the first time I tried renting with them. I swore I never would rent with them again, but decided to give them a chance since it was over half the cost when I was making the reservation. But after this? I WILL NEVER RENT FROM SIXT AGAIN! NEVER!

Michael was great at return. Explained what to do and got us on our way quickly. The people who checked us in on Christmas evening were excellent too. I forgot their names. I loved the online damage report tool where we could see clearly what dents and dings had already been reported.

The girl at the check out counter was rude, condescending and I'll NEVER rent a car from them. In fact, she was so awful, I rented from another company this trip instead.
