When we picked up the vehicle, it had no heat! It was 26degree weather outside, so heat was a must. We called customer service who gave us significantly wrong information for an exchange, including wrong hours, which resulted in us getting locked in the garage with no heat in the freezing cold after hours. Whenever I PICK UP a rental can - I go to the first gas station I can find and "Fill Up". I travelled less than 10 miles and paid nearly $20 to "top off the tank". I did the very same thing when I returned to the airport and "Topped off the tank" and yet was still charged $20 for fuel. It's not reasonable to have a customer pay for nearly $40 in fuel that was never used by that customer. I will accept that it might have been $10 worth - BUT $40 is EXECESSIVE!Reviewed 2022 Jun 08

We had a good, but not excellent, overall experience. There are always long lines at the Austin airport rental car counters; this time staff was quick to get unused workstations going to move folks through more quickly. The CSR who assisted me was friendly and knowledgeable. The car was fine and in the same class I had contracted for, which I appreciated, since Hertz had upgraded my car without my knowledge or consent in the past and charged for the unwanted upgrade. The car was advertised as capable of holding five passengers and three bags, which would've only been true if all were very small. Maybe four adults and carry-ons, but certainly not full size bags. Low tire indicator came on during the rental, so I added air to specs, but indicator never reset. Slow leak, perhaps? Return was easy, and I hope that there will be no follow up charges beyond my receipt.Reviewed 2022 May 18
