The first car we got didn't run properly and the 4wd didn't seem to work. The replacement car also didn't run very well and it got a flat tire. The third car we got was great - no problems. The staff were alsways willing to help and were very friendly. the insurance costs were outrageous.Reviewed 2025 Jan 04

Cost was supposed to be $224.97 for a week, plus I paid about $88 for Allianz insurance when I booked stateside. On arrival at the rental place in Costa Rica I was told the Allianz insurance only covers collision, and I also need liability insurance. Not sure if this is true or a scam, but ended up paying $495 for the week (rental plus cheapest liability insurance option). The car had 74,000 miles. Low pressure light came on on the last day, so i had to have the gas station pump up the tires, though fortunately did not go flat.Reviewed 2024 Mar 21
