A car was available for me to drive. That was good. The bad: 1) Original quote was for £ 275 - the local Hertz desk charged me £ 691 and tried to charge me over £ 800!! 2) I requested an automatic transmission and got a stick 3) there was a huge scratch in the rear passenger door 4) There was no return sign at the Inverness airport for Hertz, all the other rental car agencies were represented but not Hertz. We had to drive around for 10 min trying to find it, and luckily saw the tiny Hertz sign upon leaving the airport. Kind of a disaster regarding the drop off.Reviewed 2021 Oct 22

Cons:The offering of insurance prior to getting the vehicle should have been better , since the insurance at the counter was outrageous. Also the drop off should have been described, since in that airport it is rather convoluted.Reviewed 2020 Feb 18

Pros:Car was size as describedCons:We were charged much more than was quoted. In addition there was some damage to the car which we noted at pick up but Agent told us it was all documented. They are now trying to charge us for the damage.... And they upped the rate by 50%. SCAMReviewed 2019 Oct 28

Pros:Terrible - the entire system was down and they could not move for 3 hours - even though I am a part of President's circle. Ridiculous. I am switching from Hertz - this with 7 others on a holiday? wowReviewed 2019 Jun 10

Check you carCons:Check your car before you rent. Some hubcap scratches cost $100 because I didn't inspect before I rented. The employee was difficult, the location hard to reach, and they offered no assistance with finding my way in the city.Reviewed 2018 Aug 07

Beware of Scottish road safety specificsPros:Easy rental check out. Great car.Cons:I scratched 2 tires and rims (because of the road conditions in scotland) and was charged $500 US by Hertz. They excused it as common practice for Scotland because of tighter road safety laws but I’ve never been charged (anywhere else) for tire marks.Reviewed 2018 Jul 28
