The agent at the desk could not have been more annoyed that I had rented from Payless (vs. Avis or Budget). She says they do everything by paper, so they don't actually have the cars in stock that Kayak rented to me. She was incredibly rude. And that was after the terrible surprise of arriving at an airport I use all the time to find that they've moved their rental cars off-site and didn't have enough buses to shuttle people there, so everyone was shoving each other -- in IOWA!! Watch out!!!! They lure you with cheap prices and when you arrive at the airport they show you that the reservation was cancelled to then rip you off with a high price. DON´T BOOK at Payless. Besides, when you return the car, they come up with extraordinarily high toll fees, which aren´t real. When you ask about the proof, they turn very aggressive and rude. Don´t pay them and ask for a receipt with an accurate breakdown. One month after I am still waiting for it. NEVER AGAIN!!!Reviewed 2026 Jun 24
