At Heathrow it was a bit chaotic as all classes seemed to be mixed up so it was difficult for priority passengers such as disabled to get through everyone crowded up to the desks and the same applied for business class as well. The IFE wasn't too bad but it could be better. Bahrain airport is a mess and the boarding gates seem to be more like corridors with seats in them so it's difficult again when they call for business class passengers as unless you are already at the front you have to try to work your way through. I believe the airport is being rebuilt. If so then things will probably improve. I'm not sure why there needs to be 2 security checks within a few yards of each other when transiting between flights. they don't have this problem in Doha."

Cup holder was good for nothing, i tried to put my soft drink bottle in it and it slipped right out the bottom and when I tried to put a cup of water in it supplied by the crew it wouldn't fit! When I reclined my seat to sleep the passenger behind me pushed my seat hard back to upright position. When I turned around to ask why the rude response I realized that he was a tall fellow and his knees were already touching the back of my seat so when I reclined it, it hurt him and he had no where to move his legs. I couldn't do or say much as I understood his misery and therefore kept my seat up the whole way for 5 hours! The flight was full and neither of us could relocate to another seat."

I kept having to request water because only a small glass of water was made available at meal service, and typically most airlines on international.flights offer water consistently throughout the flight. Flight attendants all but disappeared in between services. Coffee was also terrible borderline undrinkable. When luggage was lost no offer was provided for a solution - voucher, per diem, etc. We were coming from a warm climate and had to exist for two days layering warm weather clothes. Luckily we had our coats in our carryon. But both travelers became sick during our trip."

Even though we had confirmed veg meals multiple times with the airline prior to boarding, they still did not know that we had a specially requested Meal. After notifying the crew of this, one member gave us an extra meal. Another extremely rude staff member then proceeded to yell at us for eating meal. This was extremely uncalled for and has severly ruined the reputation of this airline in our eyes. The customer should still be addressed with some common courtesy and not be treated as if they are beneath the crew members, as if we are at fault for the crew's own carelessly stupid mistakes and lack of organization and proper communication"

For some bizarre reason, we had to exit the boarding area (we had arrived very early), and then re-enter at the end of a VERY long line, then dispose of the water we had bought AFTER we had already gone through one set of security checks, to have another bag search inside the boarding area. (???) For a 14 hour flight, you might expect a bit more in the line of amenities (like the Singapore Airlines pamper kit). It’s also nice to know on a long haul what you might be eating (a la Singapore Airlines menu card), but not on Etihad. Also the movies on offer through the entertainment system were a bit stale and dated. They also had no arrivals cards in English, and finding them at Sydney Airport is a nightmare. (Why do we still do the stupid things, anyway?) Then, to top it all off, after a tiring flight, Sydney Airport put on their best demonstration of appalling and confusing crowd control at the baggage carousels and getting through customs. Used to think Etihad was a quality experience, but it doesn’t seem so any more."

The phone consultant assured me she'd ordered it. However onboard the flight attendants said it had not been ordered and even accused me of not phoning up. I almost had to get out my skype phone records to prove I had tried to order the meal. One flight attendant said he would order it for the next leg of my flight, but when i got on that flight it showed he had not ordered it. I had tried to order this meal 5 times via the etihad website and it did not work. I also added my frequent flyer number which showed as going through, but it did not register (a fact i only found out after the flight). Also felt uncomfortable with the fact the safety video was only half translated into English. Arab speakers had a travel prayer said, English speakers did not get the prayer."
Pros: "Unfortunately our flight from London to Abu Dhabi was delayed and we missed our connection through to Melbourne. However because of the way they hsndled this the delay turned out to be a blessing! Etihad put us up for the 12hour daytime delay in the magnificent Marriot Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The communication and transfer were handled very well. It was a painless process and we got to enjoy a lovely rest before being transferred back to the airport and flying home. Pretty much a faultless experience and one that would see me fly Etihad again without hesitation."

Cons: "other than the pilot doing his job, the experience of flying on this flight (operated by Arkia) wasn't up to any basic standards. this began when the boarding started - we were escorted to our busses which was to take us to the plane itself. however there was no bus. apparently the bus was right around the corner but its perfectly aligned stop near the doors was hindered by a truck that took about a third of the spot. so for some reason instead of simply allowing passengers to walk 3 meters, we had to stand in a small inclosed area for about 15 min with no seats for the older people. once we actually boarded it was chaos. people stuffed their luggage in the overheads in such a way that they didn't close, couldn't find their seats and we're stuck in the isle waiting for others to find a place for their luggage. this happens, sure, but there was no staff in sight to assist and instead they were on the microphone telling people to clear the isle and sit down, like we're on a bus... why not have people board the plane in groups and areas? the bus did two rounds of bringing people to the plane anyway, why not do this smartly and devide passengers into boarding groups, for our and the staffs ease? Finally everyone were in their seats and the plane took off. this is a very short flight of 45 min. and I understand it's a low cost company but during almost half of the flight you just hear the staff on the speakers reading out commercials, offering to buy cigarettes and whatever, telling how they have the best prices(!). finally we land, and instead of requesting everybody remain in their seats until the doors open, like the staff does on every single flight I've ever been on in my life, the guy on the mic says some stupid joke. TLDR : the whole flight felt like it was operated and staffed by teenagers, and not the responsible and bright kind. I am very happy we arrived safe because the staff made me doubt the pilots abilities as well. nothing to say about the passengers, they're israeli so anyone who has flown with them know what it feels like. just put your headphones in, it'll be over soon."

Boarding started on time but then on the plane was a disaster. It took an inordinate amount of time to board and get everyone seated. I was sitting the back of the plane and there wasn't enough overhead cabin space for bags since they back areas were filled with other equipment. The seats were horribly uncomfortable - between by legs getting smashed because of non existent leg room and with the chair itself just being awful. The room was so inadequate that the person sitting next to me was basically in my space unintentionally. There was no entertainment for a 4 hour flight which was awful. It was overall one of the worst flying experiences."

Firstly i took a backrow seat hopeing for some more space unfortunately the way the plain was set up there was an obstical behind my chair and i could recline there was no leg room and the seat was dirty i fell asleep and missed all the meals and the screen on my chair was broken so no entertainment. On the flight back i made sure to get a exit seat but i was aganist the window and the bottem of the plane door gave me less room than a normal seat the tray is stowed one the side of the seat and it was in a filthy compartments sorry guys i dont ever want to fly with you guys again 9 hours of this was just to much."

The only El Al lounge in TLV closes at night (even though no "business hours" posted) and you can't get there if you come early or have long connection in TLV 6. El Al ticketing desk in AMS refused to help with changing ticket caused by _delay of their flight_ and sent me to the connecting airline (I had single connecting ticket)"

Called over supervisor to notify that 6 of thirteen video channels had sound only, no picture. She said she would see what she could do. She left and never came back. There were 2 aggressive passengers on the flight that I saw and they got what they asked for. Is that what this airline would like to pride themselves in improving. Cons: "The worst part of this whole ordeal is that we paid for an El Al flight but were serviced by a completely different airline; very disappointing and deceptive. The airline "Prestige operated our flight from Toronto to Tel Aviv. The air plane and the crew were NOT el Al. The airline Prestige had an older aircraft with no TVs, entertainment for kids, the crew was not El Al for an overseas transatlantic flight VERY poor...on the return flight from Tel Aviv the same airline and aircraft operated by Prestige airlines was utilized and this time the ordeal turned into a nightmare. During take off from Tel Aviv as the plane was gaining speed to go into the air one of the tires blew and we almost had a catastrophe on the runway. We were on the runway for 2 hours and then deboarded; waited in TLV airport for 8 hours before taking flight on an actual El Al plane. The point that needs to be made is to verify that you are taking an actual EL Al plane NOT a partner airline....the airplanes on an actual El AL fight are accommodating and offer good service, food and entertainment (which is much needed on a transatlantic flight; especially if traveling with children)."

Long story short, they decided to assign a different plane to my flight, consisting of less seats, and BOOT ME OUT. I arrived at the airport only to find out that I am leaving well past my original time, with no one able to give a rhyme or reason. Wrong gate printed on the ticket. Complete chaos! IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE AND BE ON TIME, STAY AWAY FROM THIS LIKE A DISEASE."
Pros: "I like the safety procedures that were performed before boarding the plane. I feel safe on el al. The boarding was on time. The 777 was MUCH better than the plane on which we flew to tel Aviv. That was flight 28. We were dreading getting on the flight home, but this was much better."

I actually have leg discomfort even now, almost 24 hours after the flight. also, the hot meals are okay, but the cold meals are not very good. My whole family left most of that meal on their trays. the flight on the way to tel Aviv, flight 28 was poor in every category. So at least, this flight number 27 was better."

Boarding was efficient and the seat quite comfortable. I was asleep before take off and didn't wake until 30 mins before landing. For any airline that many complain about - there is nothing I could fault. Yes - it is cheap and yes there are restrictions but if you follow the advice ie pack to the kg limit, arrive as per the airline suggestion for checkin and be at the gate when required and pre-order any food (or eat before the flight) - there is nothing I can complain about - it was cheap and I was able to be where I needed to be 10 min ahead of schedule. Staff were friendly and helpful."

On the way back my boyfriend was charged 50 euros for a bag which the flight attendant deemed as oversized even though on the way there it was perfectly fine. Her reasoning was that it would have to be put under the plane... When walking to the plane we saw that most people were asked to leave their hand luggage on the tarmac to be put "under the plane" without being charged so essentially we were ripped off yet again!"

Then even with priority check in the Santorini airport just let everyone do whatever. Why pay for priority if you are just one big group? Terrible experience this time."

They charged me 160 euros just to print the two boarding passes and 1 20 kilo bag and the man at the counter told me that I should have printed them at home. Not only have I never ever had hat happen to me on any respectable airline but we took Vueling from Mykonos to Rome and they included the bag and they printed the boarding passes for free as all other customer friendly airlines. Never again!! Horrible customer service."

The employee asked to see the boarding pass on my way phone, obviously it wasn't pulling up this time. We had to pay 15€ per ticket just to print them. That to me is rediculous. The on the flight, they will not take any credit card that isn't European and they are the first airline to accept cash onboard. Overall our experience was horrible. You would think after making us wait in line for over and hour they wouldn't charge is to PRINT the tickets. This airline is perfect for someone traveling by themselves with only a carry on and having access to a printer."

I held off checking in because I wasn't sure if my bag would fit in the overhead bins as I didn't have a tape measure. So I figured, like with every other airline, my wife and I would check in at the desk and pay for the extra checked bag if necessary. Well we ended up having to pay €50 EACH to the airport administrator to get a boarding pass. I went through all the documents I received from the airline, and nothing states that we had to check-in before we arrived. They said they sent me a text message to my hotel, which was the contact number I had put when we bought the ticket. That didn't do anything to help. We will be fighting this with the airlines, discussing our bad experience, and never flying with them again."
