I really like Avis. Regular renter. Spokane office was kind to call me in advance of my rental and to accept my request for a Prius. Upon pickup, car had only been returned by prior renter a short period prior to my arrival. We waited 30 minutes and car was still not ready. We HAD to go, so I agreed to accept car dirty. Prior renters had had several scraps along car sides, left car filthy and seats water stained and interior windows filthy. I worried about drop off. I was just glad to get a Prius. Drop off in one way Corvallis, Oregon was excellent.Reviewed 2023 Aug 01

They were out of midsized cars so we were offered an upgrade to either a sports car or a Jeep Wrangler. The representative told us that the Jeep got 45 miles to the gallon, so we took it. Sadly, the best mileage it got was just over 21 mph, and that was only after we charged the battery ourselves. (Note: It costs $50 to charge your vehicle at Schweitzer Mountain.) The charge only held for about an hour. So, really we were only averaging approximately 17 mpg for the vast majority of our trip which took us to Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California. We were pretty disappointed about paying almost three times as much for gas, in addition to having to interrupt our travels to recharge and refuel more frequently than we should have. When we returned the car and told the representative there that we wanted to register a complaint, he could not have been more apathetic. He just said, "Okay" and asked us if we wanted a receipt.Reviewed 2023 Jun 16

Pros - Price was good. Car was fully appointed and worked great. Cons - Car wasn't ready at time of scheduled pickup. Had to wait 30 minutes for the car to be cleaned.Reviewed 2022 Dec 06

Very convenient location and very attentive staff. The car I was supposed to rent was not available so they upgraded me free of charge to a 2023 Prius which worked out even better! I had a maintainence light issue during my road trip, pulled into an Avis location near my hotel and they solved the problem immediately.Reviewed 2022 Oct 22

Everything seemed fine, except there were no cars available to rent when we showed up at the location. This is understandable because there were a bunch of cancelled flights. However, Avis then charged a cancellation fee which is unacceptable.Reviewed 2022 Jan 11

I thought I was picking up the automobile at Spokane airport but apparently 3rd party rental companies like Kayak give you the nearest rental agency if no cars available at the airport (requested pick up place). But 3rd party rental companies like Kayak do not tell you that on the website BEFORE making the reservation. So I spent $55 to take a taxi to the Avis in downtown Spokane and another $25 to change my reservation to drop off the car at the airport. So savings to rent thru Kayak is demolished/reduced. My bad for not reading the reservation form more thoroughly. If I ask for Airport rental car to be picked up I expect that is what I will get. But nooooo. I will rent directly from rental car agency from now on. Service in downtown Avis Spokane was poor. Car from Avis was very clean and comfortable.Reviewed 2021 Sep 22
