I wanted to rent at tucson airport, no one told me it was a mile and a half away with no shuttle. I waited for 30 minutes at the tucson airport. I had to Uber ($18) to the new site. When I arrived they said they called me while I was on the plane to tell me they cancelled my car.Reviewed 2024 Apr 15

I picked up the van. It had 1/4 of a tank of fuel. I took a picture of it. I have never picked up a vehicle that did not have a full tank. I returned it with just over a 1/4 of a tank. They charged me over $190 for fuel. I will be trying to get my money back from them.Reviewed 2024 Mar 31

Parking at the airport parking lot was very inconvenient, far, and costly. The Budget desk was unstaffed when I arrived so I was directed to Avis, which was understaffed. I waited in line for quite a while, then the Budget counter opened up. When I responded to the text to "check in" before I headed to the airport, the system asked for all the details then said the option was unavailable at that time. I tried to call several times, unsuccessfully, to let Budget know I was on my way. Finally the automated voice said my reservation could not be located. Kind of stressful, don't you think?Reviewed 2024 Mar 13

I arrived early and had to pick up the car 1.75 hours early. They upgraded the car type and added a full day onto the reservation - my reservation went from $220 to $380 dollars because of being 1.75 hours early. When I returned the car I was sent from the lot to the desk and expected to stand in a 30+ minute line to complete my rental. Instead I handed my sheet of paper to an employee (who asked that I do that instead of waiting in line) and told I would get an email - and it is four days later and I have not yet received an email. Bummer.Reviewed 2024 Mar 04

I reserved a car and received a confirmation, only to wait in line for over an hour to pick up the car only to be told by the agent that they had no car for me. She said she would call me when they had a car ready and I never received a call.Reviewed 2024 Mar 02

The vehicle had the engine check light on, the representative at budget did not tell me about this. There were very minimum cars at this location (no options) The engine check notification popped up in every 5 seconds, irrespective of cancelling it every time. Imagining cancelling the notification all throughout the 8 hour drive. The cruise control on the vehicle did not work, so had to manually keep check of my speed through the standard speed meter as the digital speed meter had the engine check notification on it, in every 5 seconds. The car had damages on it. The budget representative was tricking me in buying their insurance, saying it was mandatory to get it. I couldn’t do anything about it because I had an international flight to catch in LA. This was the most screwed up experience I ever had. It was a disaster.Reviewed 2022 Sep 24

Overall the car was nice & drove beautifully. However, No smoking signs are on the windows but the odor of "smoking" was overwhelming. I had to wipe down the seats & windows. Windows were smeared too. Other than that I had a wonderful trip at an affordable price. Thank you!Reviewed 2022 May 11

  • Although Tucson isn’t even half as large as nearby Phoenix, it does stretch out over about 227 square miles. Because of this, you aren’t going to be able to get around town when you visit Tucson simply by walking or even using ridesharing services. Instead, you will need to look into trying to book Budget car rentals in Tucson so that you always have a reliable ride. You may also want to think about renting a fuel-friendly vehicle from Budget since you’re going to spend your fair share of time out on the road getting from one place to the next.
  • Outside of being a very big city in terms of size, Tucson also has well over half a million people living in it. As a result, it isn’t uncommon for the roads in and around Tucson to be congested, especially at rush hour. You should try to stay off the road in Tucson during rush hour if you can, and you should also consider requesting a small car from Budget that you’ll be able to use to stay out of traffic.
  • If you're going to be visiting Tucson for the first time, you might get confused when you first start trying to make your way around the city. It’ll help to have a GPS navigation system you can count on, and that’s precisely what Budget can provide for you when you ask for one. Renting a GPS will come with a small fee, but you should find that it’ll be worth it once you see how much easier it’ll be to locate things in Tucson. You can also consider other add-ons available through Budget, such as car seats for young kids and extra insurance coverage for those who would like to sign up for it.
  • As soon as you touch down in Tucson, you’ll want to begin exploring the city and all it has to offer. You don’t want to get stuck waiting in lines trying to get your hands on the keys to your rental car. When you book Budget car rentals in Tucson, you can also sign up to be a part of the Budget Fastbreak program. It’ll help you avoid lines at the Budget counter while also providing you with a slew of other perks, such as exclusive deals on rental car reservations.
  • Intermediate rental cars from Budget in Tucson are around 49% cheaper than other car types, on average.
