It was awful. I had told the representative a few times that I had lost my card during my accident and that I needed a replacement car and he assured me that I could use my digital card in order to rent a car only to find out that there was no way for me to do so! So I spent more than two hours on the phone and made a paid reservation only to find out it wasn’t doable. I don’t know who was to blame but it was an awful experience.Reviewed 2023 Jul 12

Joshua the desk attendant started by saying he had given my car away. When I asked why and that I had paid for that specific car he sighed and said "I have had a shitty day. I DON"T need this". I had tried changing pick up time on your website and it kept asking me to sign in when I did not have an account. So I figured since I had paid they would not give my car away. There were three Florida SUV's there and he flat out lied and said the cars parked perfectly in front facing out to the parking lot was not theirs and refused to even help us pick up at another location. When we said he is lying about that he said "I will NOT give u the last car. Leave or I will call the cops". He threw us out. When I called his boss another day, He informed me that the cars were in fact theirs. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT ANY CAR RENTAL COMPANY. He repeated how his day was "shitty" as if that were our problem and left us like that knowing I was under tremendous pressure to leave town. I will be reporting Hertz to BBB and write and leave feedback anywhere Hertz is mentioned. I could not believe the manager only said Joshua will need a bit more training!!!! Seriously? Common curtesy and doing your job is not something you can teach anyone. If he can not handle the pressures of his job he needs to not be there!!!!!!Reviewed 2023 Mar 28

I was quoted one price and forced to pay another. The vehicle was filthy, I was assured since that wasn't my fault I wouldn't have trouble returning it. WRONG! The employees at the Houston location I returned it to called me a liar toy face when I tried to tell them what was told to me and that I didn't make the mess! They demanded I do their job for them, go and vacuum it or they were going to charge me $250 to do it. I did, and they still treated me poorly. I will never deal with with Hertz again! The pick-up location was wrong. They offered a price 3x greater than the original quote to fix and 2x-2.5x more than the neighbors, range dependent on which neighbor. Fun part, the original pick-up location was not even in the correct state, and we verified the original quote. We believe it was a bait and switch. I booked a Hertz car rental and got sucked in by the low promo rates. Unfortunately, I missed noticing the pickup location was offsite from the airport and at least a 20+ minute Uber or Lyft ride. Not good. Especially since that office had limited hours and was closed upon my arrival at the airport. There was no way of picking up the rental since the office was closed. Calling customer support was useless. Hertz representatives at the airport weren't helpful either. I ended up renting from a competitor and was lucky to get their last available vehicle at the airport. Now I'm stuck with a late cancellation fee because the reservation wasn't canceled in time to meet their rules for a vehicle I never picked up or drove.Reviewed 2022 Sep 14
