Cons:We rented an SUV and were given a Kia Sorento. There was no luggage room and did not seat 7 people.Reviewed 2020 Nov 30

Pros:For this occasion, it worked excellent for us. I picked the vehicle up and was delighted with it's performance and gas mileage. It's got the power to easily maneuver thru traffic and the comfort was great. (Keep in mind I was traveling with two guys who are easily 6'3" in height and all then of our baggage and suitcases .... Yeah, if it worked for us it ca work for you!)Cons:I picked this vehicle up from the airport at Terminal 2 in Mpls. I found the signage to get to the rental office difficult. Better signage would help a ton!! I think the problem is most customers are air travelers and if you are simply a local patron you do not get the signage direction that you would from inside the terminal. BTW: When returning a vehicle ... Holy Guacamole is that easy ... signage brings you right to the spot! More signage needs to direct you from outside of the car rental pickup!! Thanks for a great weekend!Reviewed 2020 Oct 20

Cons:I booked this car because of the special on kayak and also because of the size that it would hold. It appeared to be a reasonable deal. When I went to pick up the car I was told by the thrifty agent that it was a very small car for "five small people and five small bags" It seems to me that the size of people and the size of bags should be a standardized unit to compare deals objectively. I was then up charged greatly for a car that would hold my luggage. My plan was to have it for 10 days. I returned it in two and was charged extra for ending the lease early, As I was moving from the UK to the US I felt held hostage by questionable business practice. I felt exhausted from long travel and cheated and that I had no options at the time. It would benefit you to know that I have since booked two other rental cars and I have not used thrifty or kayak.Reviewed 2017 Mar 01

Web booking very misleadingPros:Checking and out was very quickCons:When booking I booked the 'special' and it had a picture of a Nissan crossover. When checking in I was told I booked a sub-compact. So rather than drive a sardine can I did opt for a larger car. Then all these add on fees appeared. Insurance something, platinum road side assistance, etc. I'll be calling to get those reversed. Thrifty wasn't really thrifty at all.Reviewed 2017 Feb 18

No one present when dropped-offPros:Directions to drop-off spot was simple.Cons:No one present at drop-off to checkout the car, sign off on its condition, offer a receipt, etc.Reviewed 2017 Jul 18

Almost Hassle Free RentalPros:The car was clean inside and had been washed on the outside. Inside the car rental, the procedure followed protocol and progressed relatively quickly. There was no hard sell on the need for their insurance. I especially liked that I could pick my own car within the prescribed row of automobiles.Cons:I presented the small scratches and tiny pits on the car that took me 30 minutes to inspect and catalog. The check-out representative said, "Oh, don't worry about those" as she walked around the car in 30 seconds. I demanded that my findings be documented on the contract. She did so at my insistence. She was not rude at all. Still, I know that if it is not written down, there is no legal credibility to "my word" when established corroboration is needed.Reviewed 2018 Jun 04

Cons:The pickup and drop off at the airport could have been better explained. Very hard to do when you didn't fly into the airport. No receipt at the end either or anyone else looking at the car to make sure it was all ok still.Reviewed 2019 Oct 21

ConfusingPros:Signs and arrows confusing and incorrect on drop off. Ended up in Hertz line but attendant said that was fine.Reviewed 2017 Jun 26
