NonsenseCons:let's count the ways....1) i need to prove my insurance at the counter pick up, have never had to do this before, and would have to buy their insurance without proof, did i have my insurance info...probably not but didn't matter due to next issue; 2) 250 mile limit per day, signed up for unlimited miles and now I need to pay extra $20/day if i want unlimited. This company's attitude is absolute nonsense, especially with 5 other competitors within walking distance. Cancelled my reservation, walked over to Thrifty as a walk-in and had car in hand in 10 minutes. No issues there with anything.Reviewed 2017 Aug 29

Seemed very disorganized...Cons:1, Even after a phone call, there was no shuttle to take us to the rental office from our terminal. A very nice gentleman driving a competitors shuttle drove us to the rental office. 2, Once at the rental office, we were pressured into purchasing add-ons for fuel, toll roads and insurance; which we did not need. 3, We were asked to find our vehicle in their lot, inspect it, then return to the rental office for a check in. 4, Returning to the rental office was smooth, however both employees we came in contact with seemed frustrated with life in general and had nothing good to say about anything.Reviewed 2018 Nov 14

Insurance BadgeringPros:It was not busy at the time that I picked up my car and the time to complete the transaction was fairly reasonable. However, I did purchase the insurance that was offered online, but was badgered into getting much more coverage to fully protect the vehicle. The agent went through a litany of scenarios where if the car was damaged that I would not only be charged for the repairs but also for the Dailey storage of the vehicle while it was being repaired. I finally gave in because I had to relatives with physical limitations waiting for me back at the terminal to pick them up.Cons:It was not busy at the time that I picked up my car and the time to complete the transaction was fairly reasonable.Reviewed 2018 Oct 31

Terrible customer servicePros:Staff at the RDU and IAD locations were friendly. Base rental rate seemed like a good value. Vehicle was reasonably clean and in good condition.Cons:The first vehicle they gave me had its check engine light on and after leaving the parking lot, I had to come back and exchange it for another one. Not a huge deal, but certainly an inconvenience. I wish that's where my frustrations ended... On the day that I was scheduled to return the vehicle, the entire Southwest terminal was closed due to weather. I found out at 11pm the night before that my flight was rebooked at another airport. I immediately called Advantage to let them know and they informed me that I would be charged a $200 one-way drop off fee. That's a steep fee but I would understand that I'm responsible for it if I had changed my plans voluntarily. When I expressed that I felt it was unfair since ALL Southwest flights were cancelled, the customer service agent told me that I had to call corporate and gave me another phone number. I called "corporate" and spoke to a very rude woman who told me to call the drop off location. I called, and they instructed me to call the pick up location. The phone number listed on Advantage's website for the pickup location connects to a disconnected Verizon number. After several phone calls and hours of my time, nobody has been helpful and I have been charged over $250 to drive a Nissan Versa for 48 hours. I called multiple other rental car vendors at the RDU airport for comparison and none of them charged their cancelled Southwest customers a one-way drop fee. I really feel like Advantage took advantage of the fact that I was stuck flying out or another airport. I should have heeded all of the negative reviews online. This is no way to treat a customer.Reviewed 2017 Jan 09

Pros:The deal was great cheapest SUV we found to rent for ten days.Cons:Advantage charged way to much for extras or extra driver and double the price of normal insurance. Plus tried selling as a toll easy pass by misleading about tolls in NC. the car was not cleaned very well. Windshield wiper fluid ran out after first useReviewed 2019 Sep 11

Pros:Easy drop off.Cons:Pick up took over 30 minutes. They need an automated system to speed things up. Instead, you have to visit the counter and talk with a representative and the overall process just takes a long time.Reviewed 2017 Nov 23

Pros:The staff is friendly. George was extremely helpful and courteous.Cons:represent the real costs of rental online. Once on site I paid more on charges, fees and taxes then the actual vehicle rental. I also hold Kayak responsible.Reviewed 2019 Jun 04

Room to improvePros:My flight was cancelled and rebooked for first thing in the morning. After calling to rebook and first quoting me an addition $60 to extend from 5 pm to 6 am, they comped it and was no additional charge. That was nice.... if I didn't have to push back on the additional 1/2 day fee first.Cons:They need to expedite the process for paper work and manually inspecting the car. In addition, my car was not washed and had 3/4 of a tank of gas when I got it. I noticed it as soon as I drove off the lot and had already spend way too long to get the keys that I was running short on time for my meeting.Reviewed 2018 Jan 19
