Perfect service! booking online was simple. Getting the car at the counter from the Alamo agent felt like it took less than 3 minutes total. Employee in the parking lot was friendly and helpful, drop off crew was also very helpful and kind. I honestly loved every second of my experience with Alamo. Generally good overall experience with Alamo. No issues with vehicle rented. The car I reserved wasn't available when I arrived at Alamo. The worker arranged for an "upgrade" that upgraded the cost by adding $70 to the cost of the rental, not including fees. Wasn't expecting this. Wish I had other options but needed the rental car so agreed to the extra charge. That was the biggest negative with this rental experience.

The vehicle I reserved had an inoperative AC compressor. Alamo quickly substituted an equivalent vehicle but the new car was EXTREMELY dirty from the previous family and had not likely been cleaned by Alamo. I was in an rush to depart for our family trip so I could not take the time to have Alamo clean the car. During the course of the rental period, I detailed the interior which was filthy and washed the outside of the vehicle. As I was returning the car at Orlando International Airport, the attendant asked me if I was happy with the rental. I explained what happened and what I had done. He instantly apologized and then offered to compensate me with a discount on the rental. I was overwhelmed and shocked that he would offer that to me without my asking. It shows how serious Alamo is about customer satisfaction. I would rent from Alamo any time I am on travel. Keep up the great work!

At check in felt very pressured to upgrade everything. Was given incorrect information about the insurance to convince me to purchase. Found the pressured sales at check in uncomfortable. The fob didn’t work very well- the battery must have been low and so it was annoying to lock, unlock and start the car. Often took multiple attempts which was inconvenient. There was no wait to pick up the car which was fantastic. The return of the car was very smooth.

I initially reserved some kind of Jeep. The website offered an upgrade to a BMW X2, which is a lot smaller. At the counter I told them I needed to carry 3 people and luggage. The back only held 2 suitcases, so the third had to go in the back seat. The only option they had to get something bigger would have cost a lot more per day. I should not have upgraded. The employee only gave me options for full coverage or basic coverage, not no coverage. I think that is very deceptive. After arriving at my hotel I called about exchanging it for something bigger and was told I would receive a call or email in 24-36 hours. I never received a call or email. Overall I was very disappointed in this company.

The price I was quoted when I reserved the car was much less than I ended up paying. Also I was told that extending the rental another day would be $30 and I turned out to be $71. When I called to question this, I was told it was a “miscommunication.” This is untrue. The car was nice but it had low air in one tire and I had to stop and top it up, even though I only had the car for two days. I won’t be renting with Avis again.

I ordered to Tesla and they gave me a Mercedes eqb 350. This EV is a joke. It's navigation system doesn't work, it's autopilot Source back and forth in the lane, it's voice system doesn't work. It's recommendation for Chargers 80% of the time we're behind locked Gates. I could go on and on but if anybody got this as their first TV they would go back to gas cars. The Avis rep of the airport lied about how many tolls I would be going through and upcharge me. They also lied about the cost of electricity charging and that I should pay to be able to drop the vehicle off and not worry about it. Mercedes come with free charging. I called into Avis just went off the car and it wasn't possible without me driving back into the airport a two-hour one-way trip. Customer service wasn't able to tell me if they had a car to swap over the phone. How in 2024 is it possible a customer service agent can't look at their database and see how many cars are at a location? I imagine it was yet another lie. Very poor experience overall.

Even with 2 weeks notice they couldn't arrange a regular sized suv for Orlando airport. I booked and paid for it, then got a call the next day saying 'sorry, we don't have that vehicle'. Well your website let me book it. It was a Ford Explorer or equivalent, not something unusual. They hung on to the payment for a week though. I booked with Alamo instead and had a seamless experience.

I rented 2 vehicles online and nothing was listed about not accepting debit cards. When my husband and son arrived, they were told we couldn’t use a debit card. The only credit card we have has a low limit (our choice) and wouldn’t support both rentals after the “hold” fees were added. Avis finally allowed us to use our debit card after making my husband feel like they were doing us an enormous favor. He also had to do all the paperwork again so what was done online was useless. Then they had his name wrong and after pointing it out, she crossed through it and told him to sign. I had purchased the additional insurance online but she insisted that we hadn’t and added it again so now I have to fight that. We also paid for a gps which came with a broken cord which we didn’t know until we were on the road so we had no way to charge it. This was the poorest experience we’ve ever had renting a vehicle and we won’t use Avis again.

The women at the counter in MCO seemed to be annoyed she had to deal with us. No eye contact, short with us, robotic. Car was dirty inside and out, dings marked with white paint on all sides, carpet ripped by drivers feet, trash in console.

We had a rental set up for 117.00 our flight got delayed and i went on website and changed pick up time when we got there had to wait 30 mins in line no big deal but once we got to counter they had not saved our car which was a 15 passenger van so then we had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our van after only getting 2 hours of sleep even after i updated and it cost us $231.00 not happy with price or process

Agent during pick up was in a hurry and misinformed me in order to to pre buy fuel. It was not a good deal. He told me I would for sure consume the tank based on where I was going, I ended returning the car with more than half a tank full as I did not use up as much as he claimed I would.

I had a terrible experience renting from Hertz at Orlando airport. The staff misled me about insurance coverage, claiming I had collision coverage when I didn’t. The car was in poor condition—damaged, with malfunctioning electronics and low tire pressure. After being rear-ended, Hertz provided no assistance, forcing me to waste a full vacation day resolving the issue. Employees were unhelpful and dismissive, showing no empathy or effort to resolve their mistakes. I ended up switching to National for the remainder of my trip. This was by far the worst rental experience I’ve ever had, and I won’t be using Hertz again.

Hidden costs that should have been shared upon booking. In my had 2 people at the check in desk when we arrived I waited in line for an hour to get helped by a staff member. The line was about 30 people deep, they need to make sure they have the appropriate amount of staff for check in.

Staff was actually friendly and efficient this time. We often hesitate to rent from Fox because they have some of the slowest staff, but this time was quite quick. We got a GREAT value for our SUV and paid less than half what we would have paid from another agency. The car was clean and in great working order.

I never made it to the reservation counter to pick up my car. The Fox car rental location was offsite and not at the airport. After waiting 20 minutes for the shuttle, it never arrived. I had to order another car last minute from a competing rental car distributor that was on-site at the airport.

I was charged for gas when I brought it back full. The pick up was late and I wanted a late delivery but I was charged. They tried to give me a lessor vehicle when I arrived and I had to fight to just get an equivalent to what I ordered rather than a smaller vehicle. The attendee tried to sell us a private deal so I suspect you already know that your staff also work for themselves. This has really left a bad taste with me. I would be glad to share my gas receipts less than a mile from the drop off. Never again Fox and I will share my story with others.

I arrived at midnight to pick up an SUV reserved. I was told that I was late and the had given the SUV to another customer. I required a seven passenger vehicle to transport my family while in Florida. I returned the vehicle three days later and was double charged. Further, I went to the airport and reserved a seven passenger SUV from a competitor without hassle. I would not recommend an offsite vehicle renting company. Wrench you desired vehicle at the airport.

I was a last-minute booking when a flight delay made my pre-arranged rental car (from my preferred brand) unavailable. The gentleman who helped me at the counter when I picked up was great. Friendly, kind service, and understanding of my situation--but the person who checked the car as I left was terrible. He didn't speak to me at all, was on the phone with someone the entire time, didn't assist me in any way. When I rent from other brands, they always ask if there's anything they can do to help me--directions, reminders about features of the car, etc... this guy just talked to whichever person on his phone and moved a truck out of the way without telling me that I was good to go or anything. I hesitated, and he gestured at me to leave. When I arrived back, the lady who helped check the car back in was courteous and kind. I wish the one man hadn't left such a bad impression, because then I could've given everyone a 5 over all.

Drop off was a breeze. Car was decently clean. Pickup the sales woman explained that I needed liability insurance for $100 for my rental because it was FL state law. I explained I carry my own insurance and I would be covered for rentals as well as my credit card coverage. She explained no it doesn’t work like that and made me sign up for the liability coverage. I late called back and complained and someone removed it thankfully but it was confrontational in the lobby while picking up my rental.

I reserved a Ford Transit (or similar) 12-passenger van. The reason I booked this rental with Dollar via KAYAK was specifically because pricing was competitive and seemed better than most other options. I booked this more than 3 months prior to our trip. Once I arrived at the Dollar rental desk, I was told that my reservation was for a 7 passenger minivan. Despite me showing emails with the reservation details showing the rate I paid and showing the type of vehicle, Dollar refused to honor the reservation. I ultimately was charged more than $500 extra for the upgrade and additional fees for the full size van, and I definitely could have booked it for cheaper than that back when I originally reserved the vehicle. I got screwed because of a communication breakdown between Dollar rental car and their online booking agent (KAYAK) and Dollar refused to accept any accountability for it…the question is, will Kayak take any responsibility

I would never rent from dollar again. They try to bully you into paying for extra's and use language that misleads you, until you look at your bill and have an extra $200-$300 worth of charges. If you're looking to rent a car, go somewhere else!

I was overcharged, the car was dirty and smelly and badly maintained. I also forgot a personal item in the car, and it’s impossible to have anyone help me. The customer service is horrible. I will never rent with them again.

It was very easy to book and when we got to the airport they accepted our Canadian insurance no problem. They were helpful and things went way smoother then expected! Got a full size car and it was very nice and rode well.

I was upsold liability insurance which he said I needed to rent his car. I have in the past signed a waiver to use my own insurance liability. TOTAL SCAM, I ended up paying $200 more then I had previously booked and agreed upon. Something should be done, Total SCAM!!!!!!

Kayak + the rental company need to get in sync before they direct people to this rental company. I was denied a rental car at the facility on the day of my rental because I am a Florida resident. There should have been a CLEAR WARNING at the time to my rental finalization ON YOUR WEBSITE or the customer service should have reached out way a head of the rental date to let me of this RIDICULOUS policy. I couldn't rent the car and it ruined my family vacation, not to mention the issues with hotel booking at the destination. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

They were trying hard to sell the add ons and were misleading. They stated “so you want to bring the car back on empty” or “so you want limited coverage or full coverage”. Never giving the option of returning it with a full tank of gas or no coverage. It felt like it was a trap.

Pros:

Prices were jacked up mich higher than normal. Staff offered me a small SUV over the sedan I originally reserved but it turned out to be a lousy bumpy ride, intolerable at highway speeds due to the vibration at 75mph and greater. On the plus side, it didn't break down

Cons:

Cleanliness. I had to hit my breaks hard once and trash slid out from under the passenger seat.

The agent was awful. He was argumentative and questioned everything I said. At one point, he said Europcar would sue me! When discussing tolls, he bullied me regarding the pass. Horrible experience.

1. no signs for Europcar- confusing. have to to to Fox rental. 2. This requires taking a shuttle, which i wanted to avoid. 3. going to the counter and being inundated with possible uncharges is a bad experience. 4. also, in a moment of weakness I elected for prepaying for the gas refill. I was going to be driving 2 hours away... turns out I was charged $.15/gal over the going rate. ugh. next time I will go with a more direct simple rental experience.

The car itself was fine. Pick up was complicated and delayed, and after waiting more than 30 minutes, I had to call for pick up to the offsite (kind of creepy/ isolated) site. And then we began the haggling- extra “compulsory “ insurance, extra daily charge for tolls, my car insurance not being sufficient. Essentially attempts to quadruple what I expected to be the “total” rental price. It’s such a racquet.

The pricing was utterly "un-transparent". CarRental8.com charged us $277 for the week. But, in the fine print (though without specifying the amount), it turned out that OC Car Rental had other charges -- to the tune of $222 (a $20/day charge for "mandatory supplementary liability insurance" -- despite the fact that I am covered by my regular auto insurance - and a $35 "car rental center fee" and a $25 "enhanced disinfecting cleaning fee" and a $14 "surcharge"). This is truly despicable behavior by a car rental agency, and I do plan to report it to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.

Our flight was delayed by several hours and we were still in the air at the time of our rental. When we finally landed and got in touch with the company, I was told that my reservation that I had already paid for had been canceled since we hadn't picked up the car on time (due to something completely beyond my control.) Now I'm fighting to even get a refund and we didn't have a car to use on vacation. Run the other direction from this company.

Sorry was the worst experience ever no one at airport knew this company. I even rented a taxi to take me to the car rental and the taxi man drove me around around the airport charged me $40 and did not find a set car rental called them numerous of times never answered finally they answered pick me up 45 to an hour later went to pick up the car was not very happy with the car they wanted to give me so I had to walk out and leave and I’m just waiting for a refund. Thank you.

It was a little confusing to find the right pickup location for the shuttle at the airport. And when we got to the office they didn't show our reservation. So they had to download it in order to find it which took time. Also they had some requirements that wasn't on the original rental info like they required of $500 deductible Insurance in order for us to use our own insurance.

I was charged significantly more than what I had booked the car for. They charged me for the liability insurance and did not give me an option without it. The offsite location was cumbersome and confusing. There was no one on site. They used a virtual kiosk which is fine, but had I known that I would’ve spent a little extra and gone to one of the major brands and picked it up at the airport. The car was about what I expected for a cheap rental car, that in the end wasn’t very cheap. It ended up being far more expensive than it should’ve been for the car that I ended up with. Overall a poor experience and I will not rent with them again if I make a similar trip.

I arrived at 10:00 pm at the MCO, by the time to get the shuttle all the stations were closed. I didn’t get the car and no one was answering the phone. I had to rent a car from Avance for 5 times the money since I didn’t have a reservation. They haven’t even refunded the money yet.

The pick up process wad complicated. You have to speak to someone on a screen, and then they require that you go around the vehicle and take a lot of pictures to stay within the contract requirements. This made the pickup process complicated and stressful. Once familiar with the process, the drop off was easier and I would think it’s easy going forward, but it was complicated the first time.
