I'm split on this. I rented from the LA Isla location. It was a nightmare. Do not rent from them. I showed up with a reservation for a minivan that I booked two months ago. I expected some tricks due to the reviews. First he told me that they only had their three smallest, cheapest cars available. I told him absolutely not I have three kids in car seats we can't fit in a spark. He tries to sell me on a five seat suv (all for the same price I paid for the van) that he said he might be able to get, but I said no. Then what do you know, he miraculously finds the last minivan they have. Second, he tells me it'll be there in an hour. The cars are kept at the airport and driven over. I come back in an hour. No van. He says they've hit traffic. I check Google maps, no traffic, says it takes 19 minutes. He says come back in 30 minutes. I come back 45 mins later, no car. Says they're still in traffic. Need 30 more. 30 minutes later, no car. I'm wondering if they even have it at this point. After a three hour wait a real minivan is there. Third, the car was not great. Scratches, bubbling paint, dents, etc. I made sure they documented them. The sliding door alarm was faulty and beeped nonstop for six days. The worst part though was the battery died on day 2. I called the two emergency numbers they gave me. Neither one answered. One called back but had no clue what I was talking about. He said he wasn't a mechanic, doesn't work with rental cars, total wrong number. So I walked around asking strangers for help jumping the car and lucked out. I returned the car to the airport location. They were great. Friendly. Efficient. Sympathetic. Professional. I'd recommend renting from them and avoiding LA Isla at all costs.Reviewed 2022 Apr 21

The advertised price is NOT what you pay. The $25 / day is really $45 per day. This is true with many of the car rental companies in Mexico. Probably to offset the class action suite.Reviewed 2022 Mar 01

My flight was delayed and they gave my confirmed van rental to somebody else, so I was stuck without a way to get around.Reviewed 2022 Feb 27

It took hours to make a deal with the hustlers at the airport, riding a shuttle to the pick up location, making another deal and try’s my to stop the extra charges, then waiting another half hour to get a beat up crashed car. We took a LOT of pictures to protect ourselves. The return was faster and smoother and they did not try and force us to pay extra but it is a stressful process and they are all the same. Good luck with renting a car in Mexico.Reviewed 2022 Feb 19

The $25 per day car is really $55 per day due to false advertising. Avoid renting a car in Mexico.Reviewed 2022 Feb 10

Thanks to the whole Alamo team for a super smooth rental process. Booked online and called the day before to inform the team of my updated arrival time with no issues. Special thanks to Janin who checked me in and Enrique who checked me out upon return. Muchas gracias!Reviewed 2022 Jan 27

Roxanna who helped me at Alamo Cancun was amazing! I wish I knew about the extra insurance cost. I booked the car through priceline which was $524 CAD and after I added the second lowest insurance the car cost me $1500 CAD. A big expense I didn't expect.Reviewed 2022 Jan 04

I don't know if it's your site or Alamo's, but the price shown (~400 usd) was too far from what I paid (~700usd) because of the outrageously expensive Personal Liability Insurance. I know it's obligatory, but not saying if it'll cost you 50 or 300 dollars really change how much one is expecting to spend on their vacations. If I knew that the insurance was as expensive as the car rental, I would have travelled by bus...Reviewed 2022 Jan 01

Typical Mexico hustle. Demanding that you take the extra add ons while holding the start of vacation hostage while you try to take the extras off the bill. Massive deposit for the car as well. The staff that runs the shuttle and brings the car around are friendly and very helpful.Reviewed 2021 Dec 30
