It was a shitshow. We arrived at the FBO in Cancun and were told we needed to take a taxi to Payless ($40us). We arrived at a rundown looking place with Payless on the awning and it was closed. Told by the cab driver they’d closed because they had rented all their cars out😳. Anyway, after a series of encounters we were persuaded to take a “taxi” to Tulum ($150us) where could rent “much cheaper “. In the end, having read reviews of Payless and the dubious practices of both car rental companies and police in Mexico we elected not to rent a car. In retrospect assuming that the place we were taken was an old Payless, if so they should remove their signage completely!Reviewed 2024 Jan 17
