Book Hertz car rentals in Cancún

• Can I pick up my Hertz car rental in Cancun at a location other than the airport?

While the Cancun International Airport (CUN) is the most popular Hertz pickup location in Cancun, there are several other Hertz branches in the city as well. It is worthwhile considering picking up your vehicle at a non-airport location, since the airport location tends to be busy and crowded. You can find one branch surrounded by beaches at Boulevard Kukulcan 16. There is another Hertz location northeast of that in the hotel zone at Boulevard Kukulcan 7500. Off Highway 307, you can find a Hertz office at Ek Balam 7 and another at Avenue Yaxchilan #27 25. There is yet another Hertz branch at Avenue Yaxchilan 71.

• Can I choose the make and model of the Hertz car rental I want in Cancun?

When you book your reservation for a Hertz car rental in Cancun through KAYAK, you can choose the make and model of the vehicle. However, when you arrive at the pick-up location in Cancun, the exact model that you want may not be available. In that case, Hertz will try to find something similar for you, possibly of the same make and as close to the model that you want as possible.

• Where can I park my Hertz car rental in Cancun?

Parking tends to be a rather simple matter for those driving Hertz car rentals in Cancun. There are no parking meters in Cancun, so you don't have to worry about paying, overstaying a time limit, or getting a ticket due to a meter that has run out. Most parking spaces in tourist areas and restaurants are free, though you may encounter some restaurant parking where you need to either pay or tip a valet.

The rate on kayak is deceiving. For Mexico rentals kayak should strive to take into account their special convoluted insurance rules and huge deposit rules.Reviewed 2026 Jun 14

When we arrived, the extra fees and insurance were way more than the offer we had booked. There was a significant 50% increase, and we had to purchase an additional insurance policy for the car, which cost about $200 more. If we had chosen not to buy the insurance, we would have had to leave a large deposit of approximately $4,000. So, it’s important to be prepared to pay the extra insurance for the car and to have a deposit hold. Although it took some time to reach an agreement, the vehicle was brand new and drove great.Reviewed 2026 Apr 14

The insurance cost was astronomical. The nominal $250 for two weeks rental went to $2000 with insurance having a $3000 deductible. Also, the agent shuffled us off to another desk to "wait for the car". There, they did a hard sell on what was basically a vacation time share scam with IXCARET. Very unprofessional.Reviewed 2025 Mar 02

Terrible car. A real rattletrap. Felt like the real axle was going to fall off with every stop, turn or bump. Since it was a monthlong rental, I had to change cars by going to another provider. Also a complete rip-off on insurance. I understand the rules in Mexico and the wisdom of buying coverage. However, when I changed rental car companies after five days, the exact same coverage was significantly less money, and the SUV vehicle was in much better shape.Reviewed 2025 Mar 01

Price I secured online through Kayak was not the true price. Once at Hertz in Cancun the price to rent the car was 6x more. Not happy at all. Will never rent through Kayak or Hertz again.Reviewed 2025 Jan 13
