The insurance cost was astronomical. The nominal $250 for two weeks rental went to $2000 with insurance having a $3000 deductible. Also, the agent shuffled us off to another desk to "wait for the car". There, they did a hard sell on what was basically a vacation time share scam with IXCARET. Terrible car. A real rattletrap. Felt like the real axle was going to fall off with every stop, turn or bump. Since it was a monthlong rental, I had to change cars by going to another provider. Also a complete rip-off on insurance. I understand the rules in Mexico and the wisdom of buying coverage. However, when I changed rental car companies after five days, the exact same coverage was significantly less money, and the SUV vehicle was in much better shape.Reviewed 2025 Mar 01

Price I secured online through Kayak was not the true price. Once at Hertz in Cancun the price to rent the car was 6x more. Not happy at all. Will never rent through Kayak or Hertz again.Reviewed 2025 Jan 13

Cons:This place is a racket. There is no pricing transparency once you enter the doors to pick up your car. The whole process took an hour and a half, we literally walked out at one point because it was such a Scam. The car we received was definitely not cleaned. Cons:The line for picking up a car took over 2 hours, the rental team was taking 15 dollars cash from people to cut the line. I’d understand if it was busy, but there were 6 open kiosks and I was maybe 15th in line, and had to keep watching people get bumped to the front. For drop off, I had to wait 10+ minutes for I’m not even sure what- I think an additional car wellness check?
