I had a reservation but was made to wait several hours because there weren’t enough cars -only to discover that there were several cars in the lot! Also, I spent much more time on the phone with corporate office than the customer service at the rental desk.Reviewed 2022 Sep 19

Didn't have a car for me.Pros:Nothing.Cons:After arranging for the rental several days in advance and prepaying, I arrived to pick up my rental only to find that they did not have a car available for me. Instead I was offered my pick of dirty vehicles that had not been cleaned or refilled. Ended up going to Hertz and spending more money to rent a car spur of the moment but at least they had cars.Reviewed 2017 Apr 22

very helpful staff!Pros:The woman at the counter in South Bend was great! Loved that she offered me a bottle of water for the road - great touch!Cons:The car didn't have a CD player - really wish there was a way for that to be indicated in advance. Also the car itself was pretty uncomfortable, hard to maneuver the seats but for the price and short drive it got the job done. The address listed for the Alamo pickup was wrong, it should be more specific in the rental info. Had to ask at another place before finding out about going into the airport. And then still had to get from rental counter to where the car was located. Please put that info in rental stuff up front so people can know that in advance!Reviewed 2017 Feb 04

Great Deal, Great ExperiencePros:Super efficient pickup and drop off, best deal we've ever found for the South Bend airport to Chicago O'Hare airport route, gas was very affordable, and they easily reimbursed us for the I-Pass when it didn't work.Cons:The I-Pass we paid for was invalid, but they reimbursed us at drop off so everything was resolved.Reviewed 2016 Dec 19

Great car with Seamless pickup and drop offPros:It took maybe 3 minutes to do paperwork for the car and I was in the car and on my way in less than 10 minutes for the whole process. I paid for 1/2 tank of gas (great option over full tank that used to be standard) I used only about 1/4 tank of gas but the convenience of paying 1/2 tank up front was well worth it since I was returning at Ohare airport and am not familiar with that area. Returning was a breeze and I was on my way in only about 1 minute. Price for this one way rental is what convinced me initially to go with Alamo and my previous good experience with the company and their friendly, competent staff - always- was the clincher. Additionally, the shuttle driver was great!Cons:What's not to like - everything was perfect! Only one suggestion have person checking in the car confirm keys are on the vehicle and note that on the receipt. I double checked to be sure the keys were in the car when I left it but still second guessed myself several times on the way to the airport on the shuttle - what if some malicious person took them leaving me responsible?Reviewed 2016 Nov 18
