I did not know that if you rent from the airport location, they Do Not Accept Debit Cards No exceptions. If you want to change rental days they can add but not subtract. Also there is a minimum of a $200 hold until 2-3 business days after the contract has been completed. That being said, I would like to commend the Manager Gardener and Monalisa as well as the staff for working very hard for accommodating My family and I. We were there at 12pm on Saturday until 1:40pm and was able to pick up family at 2:15pm . We had a wonderful time . That was Joy enough for me. The van could have been cleaned a little better bc the keys and steering wheel was sticking with syrup for the previous client.Reviewed 2024 Sept 24

It was absolutely horrible. I didn't know when I'd be leaving/picking up the car so I made the reservation for earlier in the day. I had to leave later around 630pm so I got to Budget at 545pm only to find out the close at 3pm on Thursdays?!?! Are you kidding me? I tried calling other locations but all were out of rentals. I finally was able to get a car from Enterprise that evening and they were the only reason that I was able to make it out on my trip.Reviewed 2024 Aug 15

The first car they gave me smelt like urine. The side of the car was damaged...and had started to rust. It had been like that for a while and they continued to rent it. It had over 50k miles on it! Staff were very disorganized and always calling for cars. Terrible system. Never again!Reviewed 2024 Jul 26

The car I hired was fine until the left front tyre started leaking. I had to fill it with air in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Richmond. When I got to Charlottesville, I took it to the Budget location at the airport. They did swap the car but: 1. The vehicle was of a lower standard than that I had originally booked 2. The staff did not care 3. When I went back to the counter to report damage to the car they had just given me, I was told they don't check for damage so as not to concern myself with any damage. Why I was not given like for like was not explained. There appeared to be lots of Budget vehicles in the lot that were comparable to the one I dropped off, even if a different make. I find this odd for a car rental company to downgrade especially when there is a mechanical issue with the car being swapped. At the very least I should have been upgraded!Reviewed 2024 Jul 20
