At drop off in the Dollar office of 22nd Street, the lady denied all knowledge of an email contract I'd received insisted on working on only the physical paperwork I'd been given, then wanted to charge $117 more for the fuel, even though I'd paid for a full tank when I collected the car. The lady at the 22nd Street office was abrupt, rigid, rude and unprofessional, a very unpleasant experience. Presumably the double charge for fuel is a well know scam between dollar offices to confuse tourists, as I collected the car from one office and returned to another, so they exploited that fact between them.Reviewed 2022 Jul 21

I arrived at the rental car office 15-20 mins before it opened on Friday. I then waited in line for 2 hours to get to the front of the line. There were 3 people behind the counter, but never more than 2 working at any time. When I arrived at the counter at 7:45 AM, to pickup my car for my 6:00 AM reservation (I had a confirmation number, etc), I was told they would not honor my reservation because it was booked on a third party site less than 24-hrs in advance. After some back and forth dialogue, they offered to rent me an SUV but needed to charge me another $40/day. Truly awful experience and poor customer service.Reviewed 2022 Jun 26

Look, the car came without EZ Pass. There was something about paying $15 up front per each toll but I decided against that. Turns out in some places you can't pay in cash. I can't wait now for NY State to bill Dollar and then have them turn around and charge me an even more ridiculous fee. I will not rent with Dollar ever again.Reviewed 2022 Jun 21

We booked a one-way rental after giving up on trying to fly home (had been trying to get home for 3 days). We stood in line for TWO HOURS waiting to get to the desk, only to be told that there were no one-way cars even though we had a reservation and confirmation!Reviewed 2022 Jun 19

Staff fine and pickup was smooth. Car had 50,000 miles and was older with only one USB port, inconvenient for plugging in phone and using gps. Back windows greasy. Otherwise it ran well.Reviewed 2022 Jun 06
