The rental counter was oversold and lacking 10+ cars the day I picked up. Their only available option was an electric car and definitely not what I reserved in advance. I was driving 3+ hours to take a ferry to an island that didn’t have a charger. They told me the car would fully charge in an hour and that it would be fully charged when I got it (neither of these things was true).Reviewed 2023 Sep 28

The Subaru that I rented needs an alignment. It was somewhat hard to drive. The attendant at the Norfolk airport was not friendly at all and could tell she was not happy with her job. Customer service is everything.Reviewed 2023 Sep 05

I’m going to focus on the negatives. The biggest two negatives were: (1) it took over three hours before my rental car was ready; and (2) the electric car’s batter would not charge beyond 43%. When I made the booking and when I was checking in to pick up, it was clear that I was dropping the car off at the DCA airport, which is around 190 miles from the rental pick up. After being assured the distance of the car would be around 250 miles, I agreed to use the electric Chevy. However, because 43% charge only can go around 100 miles, I had to charge the car 3 times. Each charge time was about half an hour and charging ports aren’t that populous so it would take a fair amount of time to be able to even get to the port. Ultimately, what should have at most been a four hour excursion ended up being 8 hours.Reviewed 2023 Aug 16

The car was filthy and had roaches. It took a long time to get support on the phone. The drop off was easy and the drop off staff was polite and genuine about the car’s condition when I returned it to them.Reviewed 2023 Mar 16

At no point was I informed of an additional $244 required for an authorization hold. I paid for the vehicle upfront, through Kayak. My receipt from Kayak only stated an additional $44 was needed at pickup for taxes and fees. If you do not have the additional unknown funding for authorization, and use a bank card, they up it to $500 for the authorization hold. Without the additional unknown funds, you are unable to rent the vehicle. While dropping off the vehicle another customer was in tears over not having additional room on a credit card for the authorization.Reviewed 2022 Oct 24

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. There is no toll package and you will be charged $15.00 for every toll you go through. There are many tolls around Rochester and there are no cash payment options. So, if you drive anywhere, you'll be looking at at least $30 dollars in administrative fees. I will NEVER rent through Dollar again, especially from this location. 0 stars, avoid at all costs.Reviewed 2022 Jul 14
