Quite bad. I have a family of 5 and booked an Intermediate SUV which had a picture of RAV4/Toyota 4Runner in the advertisement. I was given a Kia Seltos instead. I had 4 big suitcases and 4 small carry on bags + an infant seat. To get everything to fit, I had to get the back seats to lean forward so I could get the trunk to close with all the suitcases in it. Imagine what my kids went through in the back seat for a 1.5 hour drive from Banff to Calgary! Very disappointed!! Either be honest and advertise a Kia Seltos for an intermediate SUV or accomodate your customers needs!Reviewed 2026 Jun 28

The customer rep who assisted us when we picked up the car maybe had the best customer service I've ever experienced renting a car. It did not seem like he was trying to trick us into paying more for something we didn't need, very clear instructions, extremely friendly and informative. The car itself was nice, but our experience with Thrifty was extremely disappointing. We had a reservation in our name, yet we waited over an hour to receive our vehicle. There were no other customers waiting for cars at the time—they simply did not have our vehicle cleaned and ready when we arrived. During the wait, we were offered an upgraded vehicle for an additional $200. When we declined the extra charge, we were left waiting for over an hour for the car we had originally reserved. To make matters worse, we filled the tank at a gas station immediately before returning the vehicle. The fuel level was actually higher than when we picked it up, which Thrifty had considered a full tank. Despite this, we were charged for two additional gallons of fuel ($31.00) after returning the car. Between the excessive wait time, the attempt to upsell us while our reserved vehicle wasn't available, and the inaccurate fuel charge, this was a very frustrating experience. Even with the $50 future rental discount they offered as compensation, we will not be renting from Thrifty again.Reviewed 2026 Jun 22

I thought the staff was great. Also, the car was good. I’ve rented a lot of cars lately, and they are usually dirty, not well maintained, I even had to buy a windshield wiper for one of them on my way to a trip. I had no issues with this vehicle, it was clean and in great shape.Reviewed 2026 Jun 16
